December 13, 2024 After winning the challenge for Wolfbron Bluffs and becoming the fourth Dieudonné to hold the crown, Lazare releases all the members and ends the longest standing pride's reign over the island. After seven years of the Bluffs being held by the same family, it now sits empty, waiting for the next chapter of it's leadership.

December 6, 2024 Death came to a witch hunter after she called for the death of Karsa, with Kvare answering it causing Miaran to fall. Lazare Dieudonné challenges Louve Dieudonné for Wolfbron Bluffs. Snow seems to be falling in the middle of the summer as strange animals show up and offer a tempting meal for those brave enough to jump in.

November 8, 2024 Scorpius has gone missing and in his place Zaahir steps up to take the throne of Andal Oasis. How this change of leadership will shake things up in the lands, only time will tell.

October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

Pride Leadership
Leadership Requirements

Having active prides is an important part of life on Amaryllis. Because of this, all pride leaders are subject to requirements that they must maintain in order to keep control of their crowns. Failing these requirements will result in the possible disbandment of the pride, leaving it open for claiming.

Posting checks happen on a weekly cycle every Friday EST.
Pride-related (news and history) checks happen on a biweekly cycle every second Friday EST, when the IC month rollover happens.

This means that if you are a primary or secondary leader and you have not completed pride requirements before the Friday they are checked, you may incur strikes or a disband. All IC month rollovers are listed in the site's Calendar and pride leaders are expected to be aware of them and know when their requirements are due.

Requirements to Gain a Leader Rank

Primary Leaders: High Sovereign and Outlaw Band Leader
  • At least 2 years old.
  • High Sovereign:
    • Must have 100 posts before challenging/gaining the rank.
    • Must be on Orange PvP or higher.
  • Outlaw Band Leaders have no post minimum to create the band. See band creation requirements here.

Secondary Leaders: Sovereign and Heir/Heiress

  • Must have 50 posts before gaining the rank.
  • Sovereign
    • At least 2 years old.
    • Must be on Orange PvP or higher.
  • Heir/Heiress
    • Can hold the rank at 1 year old, but must be at least 2 in order to inherit.
  • There is no secondary leader in an outlaw band.

REMINDER:
All promotions into the leadership tier must happen ICly. This must be on-site with exits (not in a chatlog) to be official.

Weekly and Biweekly Requirements

  • Weekly: 3 posts PER leader.
    • These must be complete BEFORE each Friday or you will incur a strike.
  • Biweekly: Pride news and history tabs.
    • Primary and secondary leaders can work together on completing these, but they must be updated at least once every IC month (2 OOC weeks).

Limitations

You can have a maximum two leadership characters at a given time, either:
  • 1 primary and 1 secondary leader (like a High Sovereign and an Heir); or
  • 2 secondary leaders (like 2 Heirs).

Leadership Absences

Pride leaders can take absences up to 2 weeks long, and must post on site for it to be official with the Leader Absence Form.
  • Any challenges posted during a leader player's absence will be paused until the day of their return.
  • Pride leaders who take absences longer than 2 weeks will need to forfeit their pride, either by passing it onto someone else or having it disbanded.
  • Upon returning from an absence, pride leaders have 4 days to get caught up on leadership requirements.
    • Failing to do so will result in disbandment of the pride, or demotion.
    • If returning or your 4 days put you AFTER a rollover, your pride check will happen on the 5th day after you have returned.
  • When a leader returns from a posted absence, they will need to remain active (i.e. not go on another absence) for the duration of their absence, plus an additional week.
    • So, if a leader takes a 2 week absence, they must be back for 3 weeks before taking another absence.
  • Please be aware that pride page requirements still have to be completed during a leader’s absence if there is a secondary leader. Failure to do so will result in the secondary leaders being demoted.

Peaceful Pride Transfers

In the case of a peaceful pride transfer, where a pride is passed from the High Sovereign to the Sovereign/Heir without a fight or challenge, the following guidelines apply:

  • The Sovereign/Heir must have held their leadership rank for at least 3 OOC months;
  • The pride tiers will not be lost/will not drop down to zero; and
  • The new High Sovereign will be given a one month cooldown from pride challenges.

The leadership change must happen ICly and can only happen after the High Sovereign has held the same leadership position for at least one IC year. The new leader (the one it is being peacefully passed to) must hold the rank for at least another IC year before it can be peacefully passed on again to a different character.

This will not apply if the leadership change is believed to be done with the sole intention to avoid a disband and/or lengthen cooldowns.

Claiming a Pride

When claiming an empty or disbanded pride, your character must meet all of the previously established leadership requirements:
  • Have a minimum of 100 posts.
  • Be at least 2 years old.
  • Be on Orange PvP or higher.
  • Has to have made at least 6 posts in the last 14 days (not including the challenge post).
    • This is counted backwards from the start of your thread, and you must continue to meet requirements throughout the duration of the challenge.

  • If your character is coming off being inactive, they must make an additional 25 posts after rejoining prior to the claim thread.
    • These 25 posts are in excess of the base requirement of 100. So, if they have not reached 100 posts yet, they will need a total of 125 posts prior.

If your character is already a primary leader and challenges for control of a different pride, they forfeit their current rank and pride upon initiation of the challenge. If they have a Sovereign/Heir that is able to take their place, they will inherit the pride. If not, their old pride will disband.

How to Claim

In order to claim a vacant pride, your character will need to enter the Claim Lottery. It is free to enter. If a claim goes uncontested for 72 hours (3 days), the claim defaults and the claimant gains control of the pride.
  • The lottery is opened up by Sr Staff and members will have 24 hours to sign their characters up.
  • Each member may enter one character per lottery, and must meet leadership requirements prior to signing up.
  • At the end of the 24 hours, Sr. Staff conducts a random roll to determine the challengers and reach out to the necessary members.
    • Members will have 24 hours to accept or deny the claim; if one denies another character will be randomly rolled.
    • The Soul of the Warrior account will then create a claim thread for the challengers to post in.

If You Have a Pride Claim Pass

  • Gifted Passes (Advent, Raffle, etc):
    • Whoever posts their pass FIRST (even if other members have posted for normal entry) will have one spot in the fight.
    • After that, no more passes can be used and the other spot in the fight will be chosen from the other entries through the normal lottery means above.
  • Bought Passes (Site Fundraiser):
    • The only auto-claim pass. To use this pass as an auto-claim, you must be the VERY FIRST to post in the lottery (even before normal entries) and you must state your intent to use the pass and that it is a bought pass.
    • If you are not the first, you have the option of falling into the Gifted Pass option above or you can pull your entry to save it.

Post-Claiming Cooldowns

After successfully winning a pride through a fight, your character has a cooldown period of 2 OOC months during which the pride cannot be challenged for by any outsiders.
  • If won by default, the cooldown is reduced to 1 OOC month.

If a purchased auto-claim pass is used, your character will receive a cooldown period of 1 OOC month.
Challenging for a Pride

When challenging for a pride, your character must meet all of the previously established leadership requirements:
  • Have a minimum of 100 posts.
  • Be at least 2 years old.
  • Be on Orange PvP or higher.
    • A PvP request must be made before the challenge request is posted if your character is on Red.
  • Has to have made at least 6 posts in the last 14 days (not including the challenge post).
    • This is counted backwards from the start of your thread, and you must continue to meet requirements throughout the duration of the challenge.
  • In addition, they must be an active character on-site for at least 30 days.

  • If your character is coming off being inactive, they must make an additional 50 posts after rejoining prior to the claim thread.
    • These 50 posts are in excess of the base requirement of 100. So, if they have not reached 100 posts yet, they will need a total of 150 posts prior.

If your character is already a primary leader and challenges for control of a different pride, they forfeit their current rank and pride upon initiation of the challenge. If they have a Sovereign/Heir that is able to take their place, they will inherit the pride. If not, their old pride will disband.

Buying the Challenge Pass

If your character meets all of the above criteria, you will need to buy a Challenge Pass for the pride of your choosing in Petal Updates.
  • Passes can only be requested after the pride's cooldown has ended.
  • Passes must be requested and processed by Sr Staff before the challenge thread can be posted. They will reach out to you to let you know you're good to post it.
  • The cost of the challenge can be calculated per the "Costs and Buffers" section below.

Posting the Challenge

There are some guidelines to know about posting the challenge and what is expected during the challenge thread.
  • After the challenge pass has been processed, the challenger will have 48 hours to post the thread before it becomes void.
  • Pride challenges must take place in the pride territory/forum.
  • Pride challenges can be AW or semi-private (i.e. allies to the challenger, pride members, and pride members of allied or friendly prides) if both parties agree. They may not be fully private.
  • Both the leader and the challenger must keep up with leadership requirements during the entire duration of the challenge.
  • Pride challenges cannot have the default timer waived, even if both agree to it. This is to prevent limbo for members of the pride.

Void Challenges: If a challenger does not meet the leadership or post requirements, for any reason, at the time of posting their challenge, the challenge will be voided.

  • Staff must officially void the challenge before it is considered official. Failure to wait will result in the deletion of the post.
  • If your challenge is voided, your character will be on a cooldown for 2 OOC weeks, where they will be unable to challenge, claim a pride, or take over a pride.

If the challenger wins the pride:

  • They inherit all of its members and can choose whether or not they want to release them, keep them as is, or set them to Prisoners.
    • This applies regardless of whether the fight was finished and won via dice, or if the challenge defaulted (i.e. due to the defending pride leader failing leadership reqs, being disqualified, failing pride checks, etc.).

Additionally, the winner of a pride challenge can choose to take the losing party (the other challenger) prisoner if they so choose, regardless of sex.

Costs and Buffers

All petals needed to challenge for a pride (base + any buffers) must be earned on the IC account of the character that is challenging. Anyone found to be transferring petals for this purpose will have the challenge defaulted against them.

If a primary leader only meets the minimum posting requirements (6 posts per 14 days), challenging for their pride costs the base price of 200 petals.

Every post made by the primary leader in excess of their posting requirements counts as 10 extra petals towards their challenge cost buffer. If the pride is Tier 5 this is doubled to 20 extra petals per post.

  • Only posts made by the High Sovereign in the past 14 days count towards the buffer.
  • The first 6 posts do not count (i.e. their minimum posting requirement).
  • Anything in surplus of 6 posts will count towards the buffer.
  • The buffer is maxed out at 200 petals for prides that have not reached Tier 5 and 400 petals for those that have.
    • This means the max Challenge pass is either 400 petals or 600 petals depending on the pride's tier.

Example: Leader X has made 20 posts in the past 14 days. Their pride is tier 3.
  • 6 of those posts count towards leadership requirements for those 14 days.
  • That leaves Leader X with 14 extra posts.
  • 10 x 14 = 140
  • Therefore, it costs an additional 140 petals to challenge for Leader X’s pride, bringing the total cost to challenge their pride to 340 petals (200 petals base cost + 140 petal buffer).

Admins can help determine the costs of pride challenges and pride buffers if needed.

Pride Strike System

All leadership requirements work on a two-strike system. Failing any of these leadership requirements twice within 1 IC year (6 OOC months) will result in disbandment or demotion.

Posting Requirements: At least 3 posts between every Friday.

Pride News: At least 1 piece of pride news needs to be added per IC month (every 2 OOC weeks).

Pride History: At least 1 thread needs to be logged in the pride history section per IC month (every 2 OOC weeks).

Strikes reset every full IC year (6 OOC months) that the High Sovereign has been in power.

Strikes for posting requirements, pride news, and pride history are separate from one another. This means that you can have one strike on each without the pride disbanding.

  • Fixing the error does NOT remove the strike.

  • After incurring your first strike:
    • If the strike is for pride news, history, or the High Sovereign's post reqs, leaders will be given 48 hours to fix the error. Failing to do so will result in auto-disbanding of the pride.
    • If the strike is for a secondary leader's post reqs, they will be given 48 hours to fix the error or they will be demoted.

  • After incurring your second strike:
    • If the strike is for pride news, history, or the High Sovereign's post reqs, the pride will disband automatically.
      • Since all leaders are able to manage the upkeep of the pride page, the pride cannot be inherited by the Sovereign or Heir after 2 strikes have been given for either news or history.
      • If a primary leader is away, the secondary leaders need to keep the page updated. If they fail to do so, they will be demoted from their leadership rank and the primary leader will be given 2 days upon returning to fix any errors and catch up on leadership requirements.
    • If the strike is for a secondary leader's post reqs, they will be demoted.

If pride leaders fail to update the pride news for Jan Y13, they will receive their first strike. If they fail to update the pride news again for Oct Y13 (within 1 IC year), they will receive their second strike and the pride will disband.

If pride leaders fail to update the pride news for Jan Y13, they will receive their first strike. If they fail to update the pride history for Jun Y13 (within 1 IC year but a different requirement), they'll receive their first strike for history, but the pride will remain intact. As soon as either receives a second strike within 1 IC year, the pride will disband.

Preventing Disbands

Depending on WHY the pride is disbanding—and if there are any other eligible members—the disbandment can be prevented.

If a pride is at risk of disbanding due to failed posting requirements by the High Sovereign, disbands can be prevented if the secondary leader (Sovereign or Heir/Heiress) is able to inherit the pride.

  • They must meet all of their own posting requirements at the time of the switch.
  • This does not apply when a disband is happening due to strikes.
  • If the pride is inherited by another member of leadership, the primary leader will be demoted to lion/lioness and unable to return to a leadership rank for 1 OOC month.

If a pride is at risk of disbanding due to two strikes against their pride history or news and/or if the secondary leader cannot inherit, disbandment can be prevented, if either a:

  • Master/Sub-Master Barbarian or Paladin is willing to take over the pride through use of their Master perk.
  • Master Ambassador is willing to hold an election through use of their Master perk.
  • If there are multiple lions in a disbanding pride that qualify to prevent a disband, the highest ranking lion will be given the first opportunity to inherit.

Leadership Cooldowns

All cooldowns for failing leadership requirements and pride disbandings are per member, not per character.

Demotion or Disband Due to Failed Posting Requirements: You are responsible for your own posting requirements. Posting requirements are an individual requirement and do not reflect on other members of the leadership tier. Posting requirements are down to the minute.

  • Failing leadership posting requirements will result in a cooldown of 1 OOC month for the member in question. This applies to all primary and secondary leaders.

Disband Due to Pride Strikes: Pride strikes are a shared responsibility between the High Sovereign, Sovereign, and Heir. Because all leadership ranks share the work, incurring 2 strikes equates to an auto-disband of the pride (i.e. the Sovereign or Heir cannot inherit the pride).

  • If a pride disbands in this way, all members of the leadership tier will be placed on a cooldown of 1 OOC month.

Repeated Instances of Disbanding: If you are a pride leader and have had a pride disband twice beneath the same character's rule within a 6 OOC month timeframe, you will be placed on cooldown from challenging, claiming a pride, or becoming High Sovereign for 3 OOC months for the first instance, 6 OOC months for the second instance, 9 OOC months for the third instance.

Leadership Pride Page Duties Explained

Care of the pride page is the responsibility of all leaders. It is important for all listed leaders to be aware of what needs to be done and help each other in making sure that nothing gets missed. A strike affects all of the leaders when it comes to everything but posting requirements.

Detailed instructions on how to update your pride page are located in the Leadership Space and once you are a leader, you will have access to this area.

Page One: About

  • Leaders only need to update the pride tier level listed in this section, nothing else needs to be updated.
Page Two: Important News
  • This page needs to be updated properly by leadership before each rollover.
Page Three: Laws and Relations
    Pride Laws
  • Laws are considered common knowledge among membership of the pride but if a change is made, we recommend letting the membership know.
  • All laws go into effect in threads started AFTER the laws are in place.
    Rank Laws
  • These laws are above the basic abilities that are given to ranks and each leader decides what to give.
  • Basic abilities do not need to be listed here.
  • Given abilities must be listed here in order to be used. If they are not here, they cannot be used.
  • These are based on the rank groups and NOT able to be given to a single character within a rank group.
    Relations
  • Relations are set up via IC action. This mostly happens after a new leader has taken over or another pride has a change in leadership. Please only update these based on IC interactions and not just on a whim.
Page Four: History
  • This page is to be updated by leadership before each rollover. The coding that is shown needs to be followed for each month. The newest month is at the top.
Page Five: Pride Tier Tracker
  • Keeping track of all events done in an OOC month to gain or keep a tier is important.
  • This needs to be updated by the end of each ooc month. The most recent month needs to be at the top. It needs to be clear if the event is considered a success or not.
  • Please list out which tier your pride has moved up or down to, or if it remained at the same tier. In the event that your pride gain tier 6, please use the coding provided in the editing pride page section.
  • If an event happens that caused the tiers to be removed fully (change in leadership) the tracker needs to be cleared. Only information from the CURRENT leadership should be listed.
  • Members of the pride can only use the tier perks if the tracker is properly up to date.
Page Six: An Extra Page
  • This page can be requested to be added at any time by leadership and an Admin will add it for them.
  • While the page is freeform, just don't break the site!
