Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.
All site-based items on Amaryllis are copywritten to the owners. Characters are copywritten and owned by their creators. Amaryllis is currently owned by Ice and Irish.

Basics and Rules
Our base time zone is EST as this is where 90% of our membership base is located. You can convert to your time here if you need to.
Leadership aside, every 40 days is all that we ask for. If a character falls inactive, you just need to re-audition it to come back.
If your character was in a pride and you reapply within one OOC month, they will automatically fall back into that pride. Otherwise, they'll return as a rogue.
If all of your IC accounts fall inactive, your OOC account will be placed Inactive as well. You will still be able to post in the OOC areas if you need to and as soon as you have an active IC account again, your OOC account will also be returned to active.
Just re-audition them! Remember to adjust their age if needed.
If you have applied with your account and it has under 25 posts and you have NOT claimed any petals or trade exp, you can have the account refunded for anything you spent on it.
We have two ways for you to see who is active on the site.
You can search through the Character Directory, which shows each active account, or
Who Plays Who, which shows each account that is attached to an OOC account.
Some accounts (banned, inactive) aren't visible by members.
Being approved may happen right away or it may take a few days. It depends on when Staff is able to review the account. Having all the information correctly filled out will help speed up the process.
If you are using shop items, make sure to have them added to the account properly.
If your account has not been approved 5 days after posting, please reach out to a Staff member. If it has been less than 5 days, please give the Staff time. It is rare that it will take that long but sometimes things do get missed.
This shouldn't happen often, but if it does, it may be that the Staff member accepting accounts had a question about yours and is waiting for an answer.
If this happens, you are welcome to reach out to a Staff member and ask.
Yes! Auditioning OOC accounts can post and make threads in the Adoptables board.
Discord FAQs
Discord is our primary way of chatting with each other and you can see our rules and how to join us on our Discord Rules page. If you don't have Discord, that is ok. We announce everything on site that is important, so you won't miss-out on anything site based!
We have two channels in the Discord to select your roles.
Our #basic-roles channel allows you to set your pronouns, timezone, and a few basic channels to pick from.
Our #member-roles channel gives you access to more channels, and is only accessible once you have an active IC account.
You should receive the member role upon acceptance of your first character, but if you do not receive it, please request it in our help → Misc Requests channel (located under the member support category).
Character Creation
Please see our account name guidelines on our Rules page. There are cases where they name can be freed up for use.
If the name can’t be freed up, we suggest trying a different spelling, adding “II” at the end, or choosing another name.
In your User CP, find "Edit Profile" and this will allow you to edit and update your profile.
Under certain circumstances, yes. See more about resetting and refunding characters in Character Creation.
You could have the account wiped, but would need to pay for their design again if you want to bring them in as “new”.
A number of key items are unable to be edited after you have been accepted, such as mutations, marking amounts, size, pelt color, etc.
If you need something else updated, like PvP or Trades, please post in Maintenance in the correct area.
Both the NMB and the RDG are tools that we have in place to allow our members to bring in more expensive characters for free.
The NMB is a set amount of petals you can use to pick premium items (pelt colors, global markings, mutations). The RDG is completely random, can be used at any time, and can produce rare character designs, like the highest-tiered pelts and mutations, as well as breed-only items.
If you are a first-time member making your first character, you can choose between either. But, if you choose to use the RDG on your first character, you will lose the NMB, making it unclaimable for your next character.
Given this, it is recommended that you look at the NMB first, to see if it fits any character ideas you have.
No, nothing can be added to RDGs, unless that ability has been given to you as a prize from a site contest.
If you want to add anything to an RDG, you will need to pay for the design in-full.
No, the amount of markings and global markings rolled is considered the maximum amount that the design can have.
No. If you adopt your character out, they would have to be paid for when re-auditoning.
Native characters are defined as those who were born here and have never left. They join with the knowledge of Maua and the site's lore.
Those tagged as Native characters know who all the other Native characters are, unless there is a reason that they wouldn't.
Native characters were a special part of the BWP during the initial site open, and were free to make.
As of March 3rd, 2021, new native characters can be bought for 200 petals in the Shop.

Yes, you can! Just remember that they are non-refundable once used.

Yes - your character can have injuries sustained in-character in their history prior to joining to explain any physical afflictions that mimic a mutation.
These are not applicable for genetics when breeding, however.

Creatures and Hybrids FAQs
For ease of tracking/consistency/rolls, hybrids will follow the regular lion size charts.
Creature characters can breed, it is just not dictated by the official site system. It would be played out ICly and determined on their own.
Offspring would just need to pay for the creature pass and any other design costs.
You are free to put in any dimensions that are realistic for your character’s species!
If they are found naturally in the wild for that species, they are free to be used.
African species can be native and do not need a native pass. Asian species cannot be native due to their introduction via the BWP.
Posting and Threads
We do have a minimum word count of 100 words. Threads that have 2+ posts that do not meet this minimum word count cannot be claimed for trade exp, petals, awards, etc.
Anything that could fall under sensitive in nature should have a trigger warning attached to it so that other members are aware and are given a heads-up about the content.
Little tricky, as we do not like threads to be dated before major events (think fights, raids, etc.) if there is relation or mention to that event in any way. Make sure that anything that is backdated does not impact the present.
It's probably because it has spaces or special characters in it. There are 3 ways to get around this:
The first two ways are easiest if the character's names only have characters from a standard keyboard -- you simply put either single or double quotes around the name. ex: @"Character Name", @'Character name'.
Keep in mind that there are "curly" quotes in some programs (a lot of cellphone have these) and these will not work when trying to use the tagging system. In iOS, you can hold the double/single quote keys to access the straight versions
The foolproof way to tag someone is to use their user ID (ex. @username#4 will tag Ice's OOC account without fail).

- Private. Nothing overrides a private tag aside from a leader joining the thread in their pride lands.
- Mature. Contains mature topics.
- Mature Private. Contains mature topics. Nothing overrides a private tag.
- Trigger Warning. Contains topics that may be triggering for some.
- Trigger Warning Private. Private thread that contains topics that may be triggering for some. Nothing overrides a private tag.
- Joining. Often used when joining a pride. Can be answered by any member of the pride but can only be accepted by those with the appropriate Rank - Escape. Used when making an escape attempt from a pride. Mandatory for Prisoners.
- Leader. Often used when requesting a leader.
- Leader, Private. When requesting a private meeting with a leader. Nothing overrides a private tag.
- Challenge. Used when posting either a pride or band challenge.
- Challenge, Semi-Private. Can only be used if both parties agree. Challenge would only be open to allies and members of the pride.
- Border. Used for visits at a pride border that might not fall into another category.
- Band. Used when in a neutral territory, but specifically requesting a residing band.
- Mandatory. Be there; often used for pride/band events or meetings.
- Optional. Show up if you can; often used for pride/band events or meetings.
- Hunts. Lets other knows that you are looking for a hunt.
- Event. Events could be for a pride/band or just small things.
- War. WWWAAAARRRR!!!!!!!
- Trade. Looking for a trade task.
Pride Life
Nope. It is the fastest way to get into a pride but you do not have to start there.
Take a look at each one, look at their rules and their leaders. Who would your character mesh with best? Do you want to join a newer pride or a pride that is stable? Both have perks and downfalls. A newer pride would have open ranks to join. An older pride has hunt perks and stable, proven leadership. It is up to you!
Unless your character is a cub born into a pride, they can’t automatically join a pride at acceptance. However, you can set up a thread at the pride’s borders that you want your character to join instead of waiting at the Passage for them.
Once officially claimed into a pride, it is indefinite until the character is: released, escapes, traded, or the pride disbands.
Yes, creatures can be claimed and can defend themselves against claim.
There are several ways you can handle this:
You could contest the claim and fight for freedom.
You could attempt to Escape; this action can be rolled for.
You could accept it for the time and either fight your way out later or find someone from another pride to fight for you.
In some cases, pride leaders hold meetings and those who do not show are no longer part of the pride, so you could wait it out.
Or you could accept it and try to find a way to bring the pride down from the inside.
A claim is when a ranked member decides/tells another that they belong to a pride. An invite is an offer to join a pride and the receiving lion has the ability to say yes or no.
No, but there does need to be IC agreement between both parties.
Yes, ALL characters need permission to leave.
It depends on the winning character. They may choose to:
Inherit all members or set them prisoner (in which case your character would need to attempt an escape if they want to leave).
Set all former members free.
No, a new thread must be started in order to attempt an escape.
No, escapes and freedom challenges are two separate mechanics. If your character attempts an escape, they are on a 2 OOC week cooldown to attempt another. But, their freedom can be challenged for by another character before that cooldown is over and it would incur its own 2 OOC week cooldown if it fails.
A pride ruler has the ability to enter any thread in their pridelands, even private threads.
Pride Leadership FAQs
You should first make sure that you have looked over the guidebook page for Leadership.
There are a number of items that you need to make sure you have covered before challenging or you risk being voided.
You also need to make sure you have the amount of petals needed to challenge (earned from the IC account of the character challenging) and that you have met all the posting requirements.
Yes. From the moment that you post the challenge/claim, you need to continuously meet the leadership posting requirements.
Congrats! Get out there and get some new members. Go to other prides and see if anyone wants to be allies. Start making plans.
The only thing we allow the pride rule to change is the way a pride moves if the main leader fails reqs. Otherwise, please follow the rules.
As long as the criteria for a Peaceful Pride Transfer are followed, the new High Sovereign will receive a 1 OOC month cooldown.
If a character is being moved into the High Sovereign position because of failed posting requirements, the tiers WILL need to be reset.
If it's a peaceful transfer, see the previous question.
Trade System
i.e. If I participate in a hunt using the rolled system, can I claim that hunt for my character's Master and Sub Master trades? - No. Trade tasks have to go to one or the other, never both.
i.e. If my character exercises to gain strength over two posts twice, totaling exercising to gain strength over four posts? You can repeat the same task in a single thread, but the tasks have to be distinct and separate from one another in order to be claimed separately.
e.g. Running up a hill for four posts would not count as two tasks, but running up a hill and then pushing boulders around would.
You only get age-related trade experience when joining. It is based on the age of your charcter at the time of joining.
You can request this to be added at any time but it is based upon the age when joining.
Must be requested by the member.
Trade tasks can be flexible; if you complete the 2+ posts doing the action, and your post falls within the spirit of the task, it’s fine.
No, they cannot.
No, the only trade task that is exempt from the 10+ post rule (for all trades) is the “+5 Participate in a hunt using the rolled hunt system”.
No, you cannot. Your Master and Sub-Master must be different.
Fight System
Unless your fight resulted in a Wounded Roll, you can write your character's injuries as you'd like, within reason.
If your fight qualifies for a wounded roll, Staff will post the wounded status with the official fight results, as well as all other important information.
Unless the character is on Green PVP, you cannot death match them without consent.
Even still, ALL death match requests must be submitted to Admin/Sr Staff per our DM Rules
Exception: If it appears as though the member/character is hiding behind a lower PvP status, this infringes upon the site rules.
In this scenario, the character would have their PvP increased by Staff.
Example: Lion A is Yellow PvP, and they death match Lion B and Lion C, who are Green PvP (meaning consent is not needed by Lion A), without any IC reason. BUT, Lion D cannot death match Lion A as revenge because Lion A is still on Yellow PvP. This is an example of hiding behind PVP statuses.
Cubs are not exempt from fights, but face huge penalties due to their age. Their PvP must still be respected and followed.
No, it's entirely your choice whether you acknowledge it at all. Since they don't have the perk, it's just for flavor.
As long as PvP Rules are followed, yes, a fight can be escalated.
(eg Char A attacks Char B in a dominance match. Both chars are on Green PvP. Char B can then escalate to a maim match when they post their round.)
Permission isn't necessary but it's always a good idea to give the other player a heads up!
Hunt System
Just the lead hunter.
No, they need to be a marked member of the pride before partaking in the pride hunt.
This is because the level of the prey that is rolled is determined based on the size of the pride when the hunt thread is posted.
Breeding System
We love cubs! Check out the Breeding and Litter System pages to learn more about what is needed and how to request a litter.
There are a couple of ways to get Breed-only sizes.
If one or both of the parents is Colossal/Extra Small:
The cubs can inherit their size through either the dice-rolled litter system or by purchasing the discounted genetic pass for a custom litter in the shop
If neither parent is Colossal/Extra Small:
If both parents are large, there is a small chance to roll for Colossal in dice-rolled litters
If both parents are small, there is a small chance to roll for Extra Small in dice-rolled litters.
When submitting a cub request, base the parents' ranks off of what they were at the time of the breeding thread, regardless if their rank has changed since then.
Yes, if you want them to be! Can assume IC knowledge of Maua and lore if the parents would teach that to them.
Yes, they can be used when designing your cubs. They will not, however, be considered when performing the rolls for dice-rolled litters (eg. their pelt colors or mutations won't be pulled in).
Any markings or mutations included on a rolled cub are free. You may add genetic markings and mutations for a fee via the shop.
You may not add random mutations or markings.
Miscellaneous
Nope, we want characters to learn things in character so you'll need to roleplay out learning new things.
Some characters try to "spy" or "hide" in public threads, but this is not guaranteed. In other words, without specific trade perks, they always have a chance to be found.

Creative freedom is given for artwork! It’s worth noting, however, if your character reference shows things not permitted on-site that you should make a note on your profile that it is only artistic representation.
Sure. They cannot exist without your character in a post, however, meaning that you cannot use your NPC to interact with other characters or standalone in a post.
It is something staff is allowed to do, to help save themselves time, so they can get to the other items listed. Some staff members are willing to go through and find your posts and sometimes are not.
It is encouraged to link specific posts in a thread automatically, to save everyone time.
Shop FAQs
You do not need to wait for it to be processed in General Maintenance - once you post it, it is considered active.
Any threads started within the 30 day timeframe will count for double exp
They do not need to be finished within the 30 day timeframe.
No, they do not stack.
Maximum of 2 lines; 200px wide and 75px high.
If you are changing the colours of the custom title, you can change it for free by posting in General Maintenance.
If you are changing what the title is, you will need to purchase another title.

In order to use a 5-cub litter pass, the litter must first successfully reach 4 cubs through the use of trade perks and/or a purchased +1 cub.
