October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! Pride Life Explained
The Basics

Prides on Amaryllis are static, meaning that they are bound to the same territory locations and names. The current list of prides can be found on the left sidebar of the site.

General Pride Guidelines:

  • Leaders may interrupt any thread within their own lands without permission.
  • Make sure to check the rules listed on the pride pages for each pride's rules, as determined by the leader.
  • Once a lioness or a female yearling or cub (of either gender) joins a pride, they may not leave without permission from one of the pride’s leaders.
    • All pride members need permission to leave.
    • If a pride lioness, yearling, or cub goes inactive and rejoins within 1 OOC month, they will be sorted back into their original pride. Adult or yearling males will have the choice to be sorted back into their pride during when reauditioning during this timeframe.

  • In order to officially join or be released from a pride, your character needs to exit the thread. You can then post in Pride Updates!
  • If a member is stolen from their pride via a theft challenge or are claimed into a pride, exits are not needed and they are considered members of the new pride automatically.
  • If a pride leader kicks out a member of the pride, exits are not needed and they are removed automatically.
  • When moving a character into the prisoner rank, the interaction must happen IC, but exits are not needed.
Joining a Pride

Maua’s Passage is Amaryllis’ typical recruiting ground. If you have an incoming character that you want to have join a pride right away, this is where you should make your first thread so that pride representatives can come and meet the new arrival.

  • Rogue cubs can also post threads here to find a new home or to get adopted.
    • Remember that cubs under 6 months old are automatically on Yellow PVP when in neutral lands.
  • Posting a thread here does not mean that a character has to join a pride.
  • Only pride members with a Medium rank or above, or an Outlaw band leader/Master Outlaw band member can recruit at Maua’s Passage.
  • All characters can claimed.
    • Being claimed means they have to: fight the claim, be fought for, try to escape, or accept the claim.
You can also opt to skip Maua’s Passage entirely, and jump right into threading in the other IC territories. Your character can continue on life as a rogue, or, if there is a specific pride that you want your character to join, you can post them there directly.

All pride members can invite rogues to join their pride. However, they must be accepted by an Occupational ranked member or above to be considered official. Keep reading and check out the Pride Ranks page to find out more!

Claiming Another Into A Pride

Any one is at risk of being claimed into a pride. If your character runs into this situation, it is important to understand how claiming works on Amaryllis.

  • Pride members (both male and female) that hold a Medium rank or above can attempt to claim eligible rogue lions, lionesses, yearlings, or cubs.
    • Pride leaders can dictate rules about claiming in their pride laws.
  • Claiming can happen in any IC forum, including Maua’s Passage.
  • Claimants need to include fight stats in their post in order for it to be considered official and enforceable.
  • Once a claim has been initiated, there is a 3-day window where it can be contested.
    • The character being claimed can fight to defend themselves, try to escape the claim (as per the fight page), or have someone else fight on their behalf.
  • If the claim goes uncontested for those 3-days, the lion, lioness, yearling, or cub will automatically join the claimant's pride (with or without exits).
    • After a successful claim, the claimed character is subjected to a cooldown of 2 OOC weeks. This means that any character that is claimed into a pride is unable to be challenged for again before the cooldown has ended.
Trespassing on Pride Territory

Enter another pride's land at your own risk!

  • Explicitly trespassing on pride territory, defined as a pride's forum, will increase your PVP level by one for the duration of the thread.
  • If it is not clearly stated within a thread that a character is or is not trespassing, the character is not considered a trespasser unless they are from a listed enemy or at-war pride.
    • This means that PVP does not rise for simply posting in another pride's forum. But, if they are from a listed enemy or at-war pride, their PVP will rise no matter what.

  • If your character is in a fight due to trespassing and wins, any ranked character(s) may still start another fight against your character. The fatigue system still applies in these scenarios.
    • The trespassing character can try to escape, or roll to escape when in a fight to avoid further attacks.

  • By trespassing, you accept that your character may be attacked and accept the consequences of your upped PVP. If a character who is on red PVP chooses to attack a trespassing character, they accept and waive the normal steps that would be taken on their end as per the PVP system.
Escaping a Pride

Whether you’ve been claimed, invited, or grew up in a pride, sometimes it might no longer seem like the right fit. Members can always request their release from the pride leader, but if that doesn't work they can also try to escape.

In order to successfully escape from your pride, you need to do the following:

  • Post a thread within the pride territory attempting to escape.
  • If another pride member does not to the thread within 3 days, their escape attempt is assumed to be successful and they can post again to exit.
  • If another pride member posts before the 3 days have passed, they can try to block the escape.
If the pride member goes to block an escape attempt, the thread will turn into a dominance match.
  • This follows the regular rules and timers for dominance matches.
    • You can still try and escape the fight, as specified in the fight page.
  • If the member attempting to escape wins the match or escapes successfully, they are freed from the pride.
  • If the member attempting to escape loses the match or fails to escape the fight, they remain a member of the pride.
If you fail an attempt to escape the pride, you can try again after 1 IC month.
Pride Tiers and Perks

Pride tiers give bonuses to the pride as a whole - the more OOC months in a row a pride engages in successful pride events, the pride tier will grow.

  • If a pride takes part in 2 successful pride events in an OOC month, they will move up a tier.
  • If the pride takes part in 1 successful pride event in an OOC month, they will stay at their current tier.
  • If the pride has no successful pride events in an OOC month, they will move down a tier.

A variety of different events can count towards pride tiers, including:

  • Pride hunts
    • In order to be considered “successful” pride hunts, which count so long as there are 2 members present in the hunt and it is finished (the pride has rolled more hits than the prey has dodges) by the end of the month.
  • Pride events (meetings, training events, etc)
  • The purpose of the thread needs to be very clear when the thread is started. These threads will only need 30% exits before the end of the month and the required number of members and posts is based on the pride size:
    • Under 10 members = 3 members & 10 posts total needed
    • 10-19 members = 5 members & 15 posts total needed
    • 20-35 members = 10 members & 20 posts total needed
    • 36+ members = 15 members & 25 posts total needed
  • Recruitment
  • Attempt to recruit 2 new members into the pride. This will not include members born/stolen/claimed; only actively invited in characters
    • Threads completed by the end of the month, with exits, count toward one element of the pride tier
  • Diplomacy/Alliances
  • This is to help new prides get started by attempting to make TWO different alliances with other prides or bands.
    • Two threads must be made to count toward ONE element of the pride tier.
    • These can be made by the leaders or those with the appropriate perks
    • Threads completed by the end of the month, with exits, count toward one element of the pride tier

Pride leaders are responsible for tracking successful pride events and their tiers in their pride forum. If the pride events are not properly tracked, this can result in the loss of perks for members.

Current Pride Tier Perks:

  • Tier 1: +1 hit roll to pride hunts.
  • Tier 2: Potential for an extra cub in litter (1/5 chance).
  • Tier 3: If both parents are in the pride, there is a 50/50 chance of a maxed-out litter (4) regardless of their ranks.
  • Tier 4: Bonus to members participating in fights in their pridelands (doubles the level 1 bonus of their master trade).*
  • Tier 5: Doubles the pride's buffer cost for challengers.
  • Tier 6:+5 exp to trade threads within the pride lands. Only threads started while you have the level 6 tier will be able to gain the extra exp

Tier 6 Notes:

  • There is only one way to earn level 6 and that is through pride membership posting!
  • You must be at level 5 and HOLD it for ONE OOC month before being able to try for level 6.
  • The number of posts needed to gain level 6 is based on the number of adult and yearling members a pride has at the end of each month, not counting the leaders.
    • Take the total number of adults and yearlings x 5 = the number of posts needed to gain and keep level 6.
    • This number will change each month as prides gain and lose members.
  • If you drop under the needed amount, you will lose level 6 for that month but will be able to try again by posting during the month you don't have the level to gain it for the following month.
  • The tally is only run after the month change (ie. you will be able to see the Oct post tally starting Nov 1).
You will be able to see the totals here — Monthly Pride Member Count
  • All prides are shown each month and as bands are made, they will show also.

Bonuses stack, but change in leadership resulting from disbands or pride challenges will wipe them.

*The dice values in pride members' sidebars will not be adjusted once this tier is reached. Members in fights must adjust the dice on their own in the fight posts, and must make a note at the bottom of each post stating that they are using the pride tier 4 bonus, along with a link to their pride page/proof. Failure to provide this note/proof will result in losing that round of dice.
