October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?
October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.
September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?
September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?
September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.
August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.
June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.
May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.
April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?
March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.
March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.
February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.
January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.
December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.
December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?
November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.
November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?
November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.
October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

Having active prides is an important part of life on Amaryllis. Because of this, all pride leaders are subject to requirements that they must maintain in order to keep control of their crowns. Failing these requirements will result in the possible disbandment of the pride, leaving it open for claiming.
All pride-related checks and requirements (posting, news, history) happen on a biweekly cycle. Checks are done on every second Friday EST, when the IC month rollover happens.
This means that if you are a primary or secondary leader and you have not completed pride requirements before the IC month rollover happens, you may incur strikes or disbands. All IC month rollovers are listed in the site's calendar and pride leaders are expected to be aware of them and know when their requirements are due.
Primary Leaders: 6 posts biweekly. Must have 100 posts before challenging/gaining the rank and be at least 2 years old. Secondary Leaders: (Sovereign, Heir/Heiress/Outlaw band leader) 6 posts biweekly. Must have 50 posts before challenging/gaining the rank. Sovereigns need to be at least 2 years old. Heirs/Heiresses can hold the rank at 1 year old, but must be at least 2 in order to inherit.
The Pride News must be updated at least once every IC month (2 OOC weeks).
The Pride History must be updated at least once every IC month (2 OOC weeks).
Primary and secondary leaders can work together on completing the pride news and pride history. They are individually responsible for their posting requirements.
You can have a maximum 2 leadership characters at a given time, either:
1 primary and 1 secondary leader (like a High Sovereign and an Heir), or
2 secondary leaders (like 2 Heirs)
All promotions into the leasdership tier must happen IC. This must be on-site with exits, and not in a chatlog, to be official.
PVP: All pride leaders (High Sovereign or Sovereigns) must be on Orange PVP or above. Red PVP characters cannot rule prides in these positions and, if they challenge for a pride on Red PVP, they will automatically be bumped up to Orange if they win the pride or take the rank.
Claiming a Pride
Claim Criteria: When claiming an empty or disbanded pride, your character needs to have 100 posts, be at least 2 years of age, and has to have made at least 6 posts in the last 14 days (not including the challenge post).
This is counted backwards from the start of your thread, and you must continue to meet requirements throughout the duration of the challenge.
If your character is coming off being inactive, they must make an additional 25 posts after rejoining prior to the claim thread.
These 25 posts are in excess of the base requirement of 100. So, if they have not reached 100 posts yet, they will need a total of 125 posts prior.
If your character is already a primary leader and challenges for control of a different pride, they forfeit their current rank and pride upon initiation of the challenge. If they have a Sovereign/Heir that is able to take their place, they will inherit the pride. If not, their old pride will disband.
Vacant prides are free to claim, and free for any challengers to contest. If a claim goes uncontested for 72 hours (3 days), the claim defaults and the claimant gains control of the pride.
How to Claim:The site has two alternative methods for claiming a pride, both of which are controlled by Staff.
Claim Lottery: a way to give more characters the chance to be involved in a claim. The lottery is opened up by Sr.Staff and members have 24 hours to sign their characters up. Each member may enter one character per lottery, and must meet leadership requirements prior to signing up. At the end of the 24 hours, Sr. Staff conducts a random roll to determine the challengers and reach out to the necessary members. Members will have 24 hours to accept or deny the claim; if one denies another character will be randomly rolled. The Soul of the Warrior account will then create a claim thread for the challengers to post in.
Challenging for a Pride
Challenge Criteria: Your character must be at least 2 years old and have 100 to become a primary leader. They must have 6 posts in the last 14 days (not including the challenge post), and must be an active character on-site for at least 30 days.
This is counted backwards from the start of your thread, and you must continue to meet requirements throughout the duration of the challenge.
If your character is coming off being inactive, they must make an additional 50 posts after rejoining, prior to the challenge thread, and be active on-site for at least 15 days.
These 50 posts are in excess of the base requirement of 100. So, if they have not reached 100 posts yet, they will need a total of 150 posts prior.
If your character is already a primary leader and challenges for control of a different pride, they forfeit their current rank and pride upon initiation of the challenge. If they have a Sovereign/Heir that is able to take their place, they will inherit the pride. If not, their old pride will disband.
Buying The Challenge Pass: If your character meets all of the above critera, you will need to buy a Challenge Pass for the pride of your choosing in Petal Updates.
Passes can only be requested after the pride's cooldown has ended.
Passes must be requested and processed by Sr.Staff before the challenge thread goes up IC.
Sr.Staff process the passes to ensure that all criteria are met and that the buffer cost is correct. They will let you know once your challenge pass has been processed and when you're good to post.
The cost of the challenge is the sum of the base cost (200 petals) plus any additional buffers, as described in the "Costs and Buffers" tab.
Posting the Challenge: There are some guidelines to know about posting the challenge and what is expected during the challenge thread.
After the challenge pass has been processed, the challenger will have 48 hours to post the thread before it becomes void.
Pride challenges must take place in the pride territory/forum.
Pride challenges can be AW or semi-private (i.e. allies to the challenger, pride members, and pride members of allied or friendly prides) if both parties agree. They may not be fully private.
Both the leader and the challenger must keep up with leadership requirements during the entire duration of the challenge.
If the challenger wins the pride, they inherit all of its members (excluding adult males, if they choose to leave). This applies regardless of whether the fight was finished and won via dice, or if the challenge defaulted (i.e. due to the defending pride leader failing leadership reqs, being disqualified, failing pride checks, etc.).
Additionally, the winner of a pride challenge can choose to take the losing party (the other challenger) prisoner if they so choose, regardless of sex. On the flip side, a challenger who successfully takes over an existing pride will also have an opportunity to set all existing members to prisoners.
Void Challenges: If a challenger does not meet the leadership or post requirements, for any reason, at the time of posting their challenge, the challenge will be voided.
Staff must officially void the challenge before it is considered official. Failure to wait will result in the deletion of the post.
If your challenge is voided, your character will be on a cooldown for 2 OOC weeks, where they will be unable to challenge, claim a pride, or take over a pride.
Peaceful Pride Transfers
In the case of a peaceful pride transfer, where a pride is passed from the High Sovereign to the Sovereign/Heir without a fight or challenge, the following guidelines apply:
The Sovereign/Heir must have held their leadership rank for at least 3 OOC months;
The pride tiers will not be lost/will not drop down to zero; and
The new High Sovereign will be given a one month cooldown from pride challenges.
The leadership change must happen ICly and can only happen after the High Sovereign has held the same leadership position for at least one IC year. The new leader (the one it is being peacefully passed to) must hold the rank for at least another IC year before it can be peacefully passed on again to a different character.
This will not apply if the leadership change is believed to be done with the sole intention to avoid a disband and/or lengthen cooldowns.
Post-Fight Cooldowns
After successfully winning a pride through a fight, your character has a cooldown period of 2 OOC months during which the pride cannot be challenged for by any outsiders.
If won by default, the cooldown is reduced to 1 OOC month.
After losing a pride challenge through a fight, you (the player) will be placed on a cooldown period of 2 OOC weeks during which you cannot claim or challenge for another pride with any of your characters.
If lost by default, the cooldown is increased to 1 OOC month.
Cost to Challenge for a Pride
We work on a sliding scale to allow active leaders the ability to build in a buffer for their prides. The more active a leader is, the more it costs to challenge for their pride.
The base cost to challenge for a pride is 200 petals.
Depending on the primary leader’s activity, the pride can also earn a buffer that increases the cost to challenge for their pride.
Typically, this buffer is maxed out at a total of 200 petals, which would bring the total challenge pass cost to 400 petals.
The only exception is for a pride that has reached tier 5, as their perk doubles any earned buffers. This would mean that the buffer is maxed out at a total of 400 petals, which would bring the total challenge pass cost to 600 petals.
All petals needed to challenge for a pride (base + any buffers) must be earned on the IC account of the character that is challenging. Anyone found to be transferring petals for this purpose will have the challenge defaulted against them.
If a primary leader only meets the minimum posting requirements, challenging for their pride costs the base price of 200 petals.
The minimum posting requirements for primary leaders 6 posts per 14 days.
Every post made by the primary leader in excess of their posting requirements counts as 10 extra petals towards their challenge cost buffer. This is doubled to 20 extra petals for tier 5 pride.
Posts made by the primary leader in the past 14 days count towards the pride’s buffer.
This means that, when you’re determining a leader’s post tally for their buffer, the first 6 posts do not count (i.e. their minimum posting requirement).
Therefore, anything in surplus of 6 posts will count towards the buffer.
Example: Leader X has made 20 posts in the past 14 days. Their pride is tier 3.
6 of those posts count towards leadership requirements for those 14 days.
That leaves Leader X with 14 extra posts.
10 x 14 = 140
Therefore, it costs an additional 140 petals to challenge for Leader X’s pride, bringing the total cost to challenge their pride to 340 petals (200 petals base cost + 140 petal buffer).
Admins can help determine the costs of pride challenges and pride buffers if needed.
Pride Disbanding
Staff check leadership requirements biweekly to ensure that the rules are being followed. There are two ways for a pride to disband:
The High Sovereign fails posting requirements and there is no secondary leader that can inherit; or
The pride receives 2 strikes for failing any of the leadership requirements.
Pride strikes are per pride and are a shared responsibility between the High Sovereign, Sovereign, and Heir. Because all leadership ranks share the work, incurring 2 strikes equates to an auto-disband of the pride (i.e. the Sovereign or Heir cannot inherit the pride).
All pride checks (posting, news, history) happen on a biweekly basis, every other Friday, on the day of the IC month rollover.
If a primary leader is away, the secondary leaders need to keep the page updated. If they fail to do so, they will be demoted from their leadership rank and the primary leader will be given 2 days upon returning to fix any errors and catch up on leadership requirements.
Pride Strike System
All leadership requirements work on a two-strike system. Failing any of these leadership requirements twice (at any point, not just in consecutive weeks) will result in the pride having to disband.
Posting Requirements: At least 6 posts within the last 14 days (between every other Friday). Failing to do so will result in an immediate strike.
Pride News: At least 1 piece of pride news needs to be added per IC month (every 2 OOC weeks). Failing to do so will result in an immediate strike.
Pride History: At least 1 thread needs to be logged in the pride history section per IC month (every 2 OOC weeks). Failing to do so will result in an immediate strike.
Strikes for posting requirements, pride news, and pride history are separate from one another. This means that you can have one strike on each without the pride disbanding.
Strikes resets every full IC year that the leaders have been in power.
After incurring your first strike for any of the leadership requirements, you will be given 48 hours to fix the error (fixing the error does not remove the strike). Failing to do so will result in auto-disbanding of the pride.
i.e. You failed to post a piece of pride news in the past 14 days. You have 48 hours after receiving your strike to add a news post, or the pride will disband.
After incurring your second strike for any of the leadership requirements, the pride will disband automatically.
Since all leaders are able to manage the upkeep of the pride page, the pride can not be inherited by the Sovereign or Heir after 2 strikes have been given.
Example 1: If Leader A fails to update the pride news on Week 1, they will receive their first strike. If they fail to update the pride news again on Week 4, they receive their second strike and the pride will disband.
Example 2: If Leader B fails to update the pride news on Week 1, they will receive their first strike. If they fail to update the pride history on Week 4, they will receive their first strike. The pride remains intact.
As soon as Leader B fails either requirement a second time, the pride will disband.
Leadership Cooldowns
All cooldowns for failing leadership requirements and pride disbandings are per member, not per character.
Demotion or Disband Due to Failed Posting Requirements: You are responsible for your own posting requirements. Posting requirements are an individual requirement and do not reflect on other members of the leadership tier. Posting requirements are down to the minute.
Failing leadership posting requirements will result in a cooldown of 1 OOC month for the member in question. This applies to all primary and secondary leaders.
Disband Due to Pride Strikes: Pride strikes are a shared responsibility between the High Sovereign, Sovereign, and Heir. Because all leadership ranks share the work, incurring 2 strikes equates to an auto-disband of the pride (i.e. the Sovereign or Heir cannot inherit the pride).
If a pride disbands in this way, all members of the leadership tier will be placed on a cooldown of 1 OOC month.
Repeated Instances of Disbanding: If you are a pride leader and have had a pride disband twice beneath the same character's rule within a 6 OOC month timeframe, you will be placed on cooldown from challenging, claiming a pride, or becoming High Sovereign for 3 OOC months for the first instance, 6 OOC months for the second instance, 9 OOC months for the third instance.
Preventing Pride Disbands
If the primary leader fails posting requirements during a check or a pride incurs two strikes for any of their pride page requirements, it will typically result in a disband. However, disbands can sometimes be prevented. The ability to prevent the disbands on two factore: why the prides is disbanding, and the eligibility of the other characters in the leadership tier.
In the case where a pride is at risk of disbanding due to failed posting requirements by the High Sovereign, disbands can be prevented if the secondary leader (Sovereign or Heir/Heiress) is able to inherit the pride. To do this, they must meet all of their own leadership requirements at the time of the switch, and will have 72 hours to get to primary leadership requirements.
This only applies when a disband is occurring as a result of failed posting requirements by the High Sovereign. It does not apply when a disband is happening due to strikes.
If the pride is inherited by another member of leadership, the primary leader will be demoted to lion/lioness and unable to return to a leadership rank for 1 OOC month.
Disbandment can also be avoided, in any scenario, if there is a Master/Sub-Master Barbarian or Paladin who is willing to take over the pride and that meets leadership requirements, or Ambassador (level 5 Master) who is willing to hold an election. Both of these options are only available via Master trade perks.
If there are multiple lions in a disbanding pride that qualify to prevent a disband, the highest ranking lion will be given the first opportunity to inherit.
