July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

These Are A Few of my Favorite Things (Random Holiday Event, Week 4)

These logs were tricky little buggers sometimes but determined and built with sheer will, Renly deigned to complete her mission. Motivated to get a good plenty of trinkets for both herself and for anyone who came along and had no logs or none that gave any goods. At the very least she could offer the things that she hadn't taken (which would be many) and give back to them. Surely there would be young cubs that would find these gifts beautiful and wondrous and so Renly held onto that. Knowing that she could make a different for them, whoever they were.

There were more logs with prizes contained inside to be found scattered throughout the Boneyard. And with them were already a number of lions tearing into them in order to collect their prizes.
Yarrow wasted no time in scouting out a log for themself. It was tucked away beneath a pile of bones and was mostly hidden. The yearling pulled out the log from its hiding spot and proceeded to try and pry it open. There was no certainty as to what would be inside but so far there bad experiences with the unknown had been limited for the youth. Nothing had been done to dampen their curiosity so far.

Now she was determined as ever upon realizing that her luck really wasn't all that great. At least, not when it came to random chance like this but even a sixty-six percent chance should have been a greater one and yet, she wasn't getting what she needed now. Time was ticking by and she knew that her time here was almost over. Just wanting to fetch one more gem for her sister and taking out one of the logs she had found like it had done her dirty. Just picture Aeistrios's face, Ana.

not only was the second coming of winter and her sudden sickness due to the sudden change odd, so was this massive hunt for logs gilded with stones and jewels. the boneyard was not a place that imogen would visit often. it was creepy and even more so coated in a desolate field of white snow. the only thing keeping her going was the idea of stumbling across something more that would brighten her day and distract her from her pounding headache and running nose. slowly, imogen roves through the blanket of snow, careful not to upturn any graves while searching for logs.

When she made it to the bone-yard, the female couldn't help but grin broadly with unrestrained glee to notice that some more of those weird log things were there! Oh great! She bounds forward, heading for one of them that is on the outskirts of the much smaller crowd that is gathered and sets to work on hooking it with her claws, and then gnawing on it with her teeth. When the wood cracks beneath her bite, her eyes immediately rove over the contents- a paw moving through the wood and items to see what was there- if anything.

This place really wasn't the type of place he'd ever thought to find himself in. The colossal giant of a male, loathed places that were as dreary as this- lacking the beauty of the gardens and the useful flowers. Yet, as he meandered, he found a very strangely decorated log and spied a group of others investigating more. He sniffed the log, and then carefully gnawed at it- working his teeth into the wood, as his paws held it in place. Everyone else seemed to be finding things inside and well, he didn't want to be left out. So he went to work, to see what prize may lurk inside.

Much to the scholar’s resigned annoyance, snow could also be found in the boneyard. With a huff of warm breath into the cold summer air, he surveyed the should-be barren wasteland, surprised to find several cats moving amongst its skeletons. His brow furrowed and the nomad ventured forward, inspired warily by an insatiable curiosity for the unknown, before quickly discovering that amongst the bones, there were a variety of logs. Out of place as they were, they were even decorated in a variety of flora. Greens and reds and whites against the dark bark – objectively pleasing to look at – but seeming very intentional in their places. Haruki hesitated for a few moments before reaching his paw to one, and with carefully extended claws, would turn the log towards him and tilt his head to see what was inside.

This time, Xander followed after his brother instead of the other way around. The Boneyard was not a place that he had visited previously, but it was creepy enough that he thought briefly of luring his sister there to scare the living daylights out of her. Nevertheless, it seemed they were all there with a purpose today, because the logs were back. Xander gave a cheerful laugh and began to move towards one of the bountiful logs, paws eagerly reaching to turn it over. Whatever he found, he would find it fascinating that such an event were even possible - that they should be gifted anything at all.

Well, nothing came from his, but others seemed to be having different luck. So perhaps it was the log he'd chosen that was the issue. Maybe it had already been found and emptied. So he'd roll it to the side and seek out another, curious if his next choice would prove a better one. After a moment or so, he spotted one that had yet to be claimed and appeared untouched, and so would set to work rolling it around to free whatever might be inside, if anything, with the occasional addition of claws digging at bark and wood.
