A challenge for the Plains was a curious one. His preference for the outcome was definitely not in Aeistrios' favor - but in a way, it was because if he was here then he couldn't pester Cassandra for her ancestrial home. He stood much further away than the initial gathering of others to dissuade any notion that he was a threat. The Sovereign merely appeared to watch for political reasons and did his best to be casual. He was happy to observe from the most neutral of territories to see which lion would reign victorious. So he waited with open eyes and ears, his skull on a swivel to ensure he wasn't ambushed.

((She is hidding and not tresspassing))
As she grew older, so did her curiosity and her wish to see what lay beyond the Swampy lands that the Mire had as their home. A home she hasn't left in a while. Today seemed to be a good day for some adventures, to change scenarios. At this point she knew not to trespass into other pride lands, she had been taught well, for that when she came to watch this event she made sure not to step into the borders, instead taking a hiding place near enough to be able to watch but not to cross the borders. Perhaps she could learn a thing or two, even more about injuries. She was taking a deep interest in the herbalist and healer path.

((Not fights please, she isnt tresspassing and is actively interacting with Myrkvy)) It was a long since she had attended to a challenge, she had been working on readjusting to her life back into the Summit, that after her captivity with the unruly Vermier. A lion she now saw as useless, who couldn't hunt for himself, or so she came to think with the times he forced her to hunt for him. But no more, now she had her freedom back, freedom to do as she pleased. She walked in, spotting her brother. Someone she hasn't seen in ages. Slowly she made her way to try sitting by his side. Quiet at first. "Halló" She greeted warmly as she relaxed to watch the fight going. But also ready for anything. She sharpened her claws with the ground under her, she knew well not to come unprepared to public events. +5 Observe a fight @Myrkvi |
He heard the Heiress order the inquiring lion that they were to maim and chase anyone who felt they could impede onto their land. It was a reasonable request… as there were sure to be those who would take the opportunity to try and slip by during the distraction.
Even so, as more and more began to show, and the few of them there were kept the borders guarded, it was surprising to see that most of them were truly interested in how the challenge would play out rather than taking advantage of it. Most stayed outside the borders, simply observing.
He wondered who they were rooting for, as he slinked back behind their border. He would watch from a relative distance now that it seemed any kind of threat was out of the question. He’d be backup for border patrol, if anything. For now, he lowered himself next to a tree, reclining and watching the carnage unfold.

Enver was growing enough to know that he should not be near the borders of their former home, and yet, as he had been exploring near them... he heard the call of a challenge. Enver patrolled along on the neutral side of the border, in the snow laden tall grasses, and headed towards the sound. The snow, luckily, had concealed his scent pretty well, or at least so he thought. Enough of it had fallen on him here and there that surely, it would.
As he neared the commotion, he saw a male that was vaguely familiar, a face that he should remember from the challenge that his father had somehow lost, and yet, he remained on the neutral side of the border- hidden in clumps of grass as he watched the males clash for the land. Enver couldn't help but will the plum male to lose, if only so he would no longer have the home that he'd won from Violarum. Enver himself, dreamed sometimes, of being strong enough to take the land back... though he doubted he would ever grow that much. It seemed like growing up was taking forever... and he truly missed his home- and his siblings, who he didn't see much- and his parents that he spent less and less time with, as he explored the land more and more.
The bard curiesly approach the plain's pride land, of course, some preparations had to be made beforehand. The pink man was an eyesore in any landscape so rolling in mud and dragging some golden grass into his slowly cooling pelt was a must. It was the best he could do in winter, and with a time limit. He hope that the muck, and mud would hide his scent, another option would be to roll on the border. Get the pride's scent into his fur. Sinking into the grass as he lowered his small frame to the ground taking a moment to rub his dull mud-covered fur against a somewhat sturdy bush. Trying to absorb some of the pride's scent from it... He'd need a bath later... To rid his fur of mud and... other fluids...
Alester could feel the snow under his paws as the golden grass poked up around him a mixture of dull yellow and white. His toes were splayed wide in an attempt to keep him from sinking deeply into the snow or slipping. He hadn't crossed the border, stopping outside away from the other spectators. He hoped they would draw the attention of the patroling lions. The bard watched quietly, his detour to better hide having caused him to miss most of the beginning of the challenge. Two men were fighting, one dark plum in shade the other a brown man with a dark mane. Alester recognized the brown lion, but from where?
Alester watched from the grass, frame low to the ground and alert as he remained still waiting for the outcome and hoping to remain undetected.

After all... it was a challenge for the King. Take one look at @Aeistrios and one would easily see that not many men can best him in the heat of battle. She was so confident in his abilities, in fact, that she decided she would have plenty of time to finish up the layout before making her way to the encounter.
Now that she was here, her attention was drawn solely to the fight. She noticed the crowd, sure... and those she knew where there, including her brother... but she paid them no mind. She stalked along the borderline slowly, methodically... sure that there was an order to protect it, but in reality all she really wanted was to follow it's path closer to the action so she could have a better look!

Another post will be made to signal the unpausing of the fight timers, at which time the fight can continue.
Briefly did she rub up on a tree that was just vaguely Plains-scented but it still stood mostly on the outside. Taking care to alleviate her own Jungle-scent as well as the scent of her family members back there. To appear as though she were but a wandering rogue coming to look at what was going on. When really, she was just trying to gauge what was outside of her Jungle. So far, she was pleased with what she saw.
The two lions that fought were vicious and held no caution to their movements. Like a crocodile of the swamp, the plum behemoth attempts to throw the other down onto the ground with him. An effort to tuck and roll, she thinks, in an effort to mimic the swampy creatures that lived near to her home. It was a risky move given that he was taking his entire weight with it but the plus side was that he potentially could take the other guy with him.
spectating from outside the borders,
socialization welcome!
