It had been weighin' heavy on his mind for some time now - perhaps the day Violarum had been usurped. Nowhere but golden grasses and flowin' plains felt like the proper home for the cowboy, and maybe that was what added to the burnin' desire to try to take it back. He had felt comfortable here with his responsibilities as its Sovereign, givin' him somethin' to continuously work and get better at. It is what brings his dun form to stand right behind the invisible border, marked by only the scents of Lorien members. Golden eyes peer in, ears becomin' erect as he listened and watched for several moments.

Muscles begin to tense as he continues to stand there, quietin' his mind before finally makin' the plunge. He doesn't move too far into Plains territory - several feet from the borders at best. It would be there that he gives himself a good and thorough shake, both to rid himself of the nerves that jolted alive with excitement as well as to loosen up his body a bit. Maw opens and the cowboy releases several long deep chested roars, summonin' the one that now called himself King here. Body slips into defenses with ease as his last call leaves him, his body growin' hyperaware of his surroundin's and waitin' for the masses to arrive like they always did.

The challenging call did little to surprise Aeistrios. He had war going on with one pride, he had troubles with trespassing rogues, and a handful of other enemies that didn't like him so much. He'd of been more surprised if the land was left alone, if no one tried to strip his power from him. He was only shocked it wasn't a Brook member coming to do the deed, but rather @Lucien . A former Plains lion, one that had been flexing his muscles at Aeistrios' fight for the land. He remembered how unimpressed he had been. "At least you didn't trespass like the others of your former home." Aeistrios rumbles as he nears, giving the male props for that at least. He comes to a stop not too far from Lucien, aiming to line up with his front equally, staring at him head on. "Do you regret it? Not fighting for the Plains - letting Violarum? Do you think you could of defeated me that day?" A tilt of his head - a smirk - eyes twinkling with mischief as he sought to taunt a bit over instantly tearing at flesh. Plus, he wanted his pride to gather. To witness him in all his glory of protecting them - the Plains. To feel the praise from his victory as his wounds would be tended to, his stomach spoiled with feasts for his win; his wives caring to his every need. He couldn't wait. There was a call in the air. A lion sought to take her new home and oh, how she hoped that @Aeistrios would win this day. Taking her time to leave her den, she headed towards a mud hole that she had found. The muck was so cold but it served purpose in helping to disguise her body and scent. The stench washed away that underline of Plains as best she could. There were newborn cubs by the Heiress in these lands and she felt fire course within her veins. Keeping herself low to the ground, the Lead Scout would make her way from her mud to where the challenge was being held. Becoming one with the dead logs, she would watch with anticipation. Not knowing what luck she would bring the High Sovereign.

All that Yelena believed in was naps.

The call of a challenger in the plains, was the most opposite of nap inducing material that she could think of, and it was with a groan that she hauled herself to her feet and ambled towards the challenge. The self-retired warrior, approached- noting a very small gathering, including the king of the land- Aeistrios. She chuffed softly to him, before she would move to the side to observe.

Lazily, she would sprawl down onto the earth, content to watch the handsome king fight for his throne, with little concern that he would lose. She let out a soft huff, before she lazily began grooming her paw, and dragging it over her face- watching and waiting to see who would win.

Yelena is observing but is welcome to interactions/fights.

Deathly Cold

Strangely enough it was Silas who had arrived first this time, BEFORE his sister. He had been wandering in the immediate area looking for a drink when the challenge was heard echoing through the trees. Making his way casually, Silas arrived after one other... He nodded to her in acknowledgement, but he had not met her before officially.

For now there was nothing to talk about, but he wanted to bear witness to whatever outcome may make it's debut. Part of him wanted the current King to fall. Silas had been unimpressed with him thus far, but there was no real reason yet for Silas to feel such a way. Perhaps it was the undermining at the meeting that fueled Silas' animosity? Perhaps it was the King's willingness to pummel rogue children who stepped too far onto his soil?

Still, such animosity toward his Monarch was a secret held only within himself. He didn't even trust his own sister to keep such a thing quiet. There was a lot he couldn't trust his sister with these days, he was finding.

Irritation crackled through the starry Heiress at the call for a challenge. This day had been anticipated, and she was not surprised that it had come so soon, but she was frustrated that her young daughters were not yet old enough to attend, to watch their father fight for this land. What was worse, though she would not admit it aloud, was having to leave them in the den unguarded once more while danger was present on their land. Being away from them when they were still this little, and this defenseless, made her uneasy, but she wasn’t about to hide away in her den. If she could have, she would have fought the challenger herself, but this was Aeistrios’ roll, and she would hope for once to not get pulled into a fight at all. While she was confident in her husbands abilities, anything could happen, and if things went really south she wanted to be free to get back to her girls to protect them. Either from the challenger if he won, or any other vultures who came to try and prey on them in the chaos.

A challenge is what lifts Wolfgang from slumber, curled in their new den away from the chill. He sits up, extracting himself carefully from Azriael lest his husband wish to slumber more, and moves to investigate. He had not had the displeasure of disruption for a long time, not since the spring floods had forced them from the caverns of orusa, many years ago. He hope, grimly, today will not be another upheval. Not before his deal had been seen through.

The plains gentry sidles up near @Renfri. He knew the age-old song and dance of these things. Observer would soon be here.

"What should be done with any tresspassers." he asks of the heiress with a glance. His voice was quiet - a private request of instruction whilst Aeistrios stood to face this interloper. Wolfgang would make sure there was no funny business whilst the pride's focus fell upon the challenge.

She'd spent no more than a few days here when his call came.

Fae had adjusted well to the Plains. The coverage of ferns and foliage kept her well-hidden, their stalks reaching far above her head, tickling her nose as they danced past her. When the snowstorms blistered across the flat horizon and dusted the flatlands in billows of white, she could see the territory stretch on for miles. There were other cubs here, and many other adults intent on keeping their bellies full and their demands sated; Fae, despite her best efforts, had been particularly gluttonous after her long endeavor in the wilds.

But peace was ever only temporary. She had been playing in the flowers when the man came for them.

Careful little paws bounded her through the snow, careful to hide where it had begun to melt in sunnier places, where the dark ground poked through the endless alabaster. As she grew closer, large silhouettes began to appear in the distance, and the lumbering form of the king Aeistrios squared off with his sandy challenger. Fae did not know the history of this pride, but she'd known the intricacies of it; at the very least, what little of lion politics her mother had imparted onto her before her death. The history of her own family was deep-rooted in the very same cultures as these lions, and Fae knew with which the gravity of this reality was.

If Aeistrios were to lose, all she'd known in these last few days would cease to exist.

She wasn't particularly stealthy, but she did make an effort to stay back from the crowd. While she was not hidden to those who were used to seeing her around, her distance was only close enough to listen to their words, to catch the less subtle of their movements. Her heart paced heavily in her chest, fear written in her wide hazel eyes.
