Very carefully he kept at her side and let her choose their pace, leaning back to her so that she didn't have to worry too much about anything other than simply getting to @Léonie.

Though his attention was swiftly taken to @Fairytale who had taught someone else a valuable lesson, he assumed, and came to rest by their side. He was no medic but any means but he leaned his head down quietly, I'll keep an eye out... Guelle wasn't sure that he had the means to protect Rhea and an injured Fairytale but he would do whatever he needed to do. Even though he was pretty he wanted to throw up now because of the pressure that he was suddenly putting upon himself. Not that he was about to show that uncertainty in his expression. No, he wanted to look as strong as possible for the older women that suddenly surrounded him.

Well, here they went. Colsun lunged in almost as soon as she came to his side, and the fight was on. The girl fought dirty, literally and figuratively, winging sand towards his face, and Heloise opted to take on the male as he seemed to be the bigger threat simply from what little she had gleaned of the woman's disposition so far.

Heloise swung wide, coming up on Lathan's right side towards his midsection. She attempted to sink her teeth into the back of his right shoulder, while also reaching up with her right front paw in an attempt to sink her claws into the meat of his shoulder. She hoped Colsun was doing fine on his own over there, as he was unfortunately bearing the brunt of their wrath.

She wanted a piece of the white bitch desperately, and if she trusted her own skills to not be a bit rusty and the other lioness to not play dirty - she might've been vying for death. But she'd settle for trying to take a piece out of her, wanting her to be permanently marked by the one who wanted nothing more than to see her dead. Her teeth sadly don't find purchase on Icefang's face since the bitch tucks her chin, but she would not be worried. Her teeth would instead aim to grab into Icefang's face, hoping to rip and tear deep wounds if her teeth find could purchase on the other's face. The other lioness's jaws would not find purchase around her upper jaw, and would instead merely graze her cheek instead of grabbing onto her upper jaw like she wanted.

Her claws found purchase on Icefang's shoulders, and she would aim to dig her claws in and rip them down both of Icefang's shoulder blades if she could. She knew firsthand how painful wounds on one's shoulders could be - and she wanted her to hurt. Claws pricked at the back of her own neck, and she would not allow the other the pleasure of hearing her make any noise of pain. As she aimed to dig and rip with her own claws, she would simultaneously attempt to shove Icefang backwards, hoping her youth would give her the upper paw in this fight.

when she makes contact, there's an inkling of pain buzzing in her own shoulder, but she succeeds at getting close enough to sink her teeth in. brighid's heart pumps with adrenaline at realizing how close she is to their throat, how little it would take to bury her incisors in and strangle her like prey. brighid has no time to mull over those dark desires as the woman reaches up to defend herself, pushing brighid's wanting jaws towards her own razor sharp fangs. the claws in her snout are enough to draw blood and in an attempt to keep the side of her face from being shredded in her enemy's teeth, brighid abandons her grasp and instead tries to bite the dark wrist oh so close to her muzzle. her right paw slings forward blindly in an attempt to hook near the elbow of sable's grounded limb and possibly unbalance her.

She had been a bit delayed getting to the challenge, having aimed to do her best to collect up herbs both helpful and hurtful. She knew Isla was a fan of the more harmful herbs, and as such she had brought them with her to the fight in case anyone else wanted to make use of them. She didn't really know how to use them - but she did know they would be useful to someone in her pride. Carrying both sets of herbs and some other items that would aid in her healing others in her pouch, Rheta would quickly make her way to the challenge scene. She couldn't be of help fighting - but she could help heal anyone who needed it.

Coming onto the scene, she spotted the warrior queen in battle already with who she presumed was the challenger. Many other fights surged around her as she carefully picked her way over to the gathered members who weren't embroiled in a fight. Floppy ears pricked forwards as she noted the wounds on @Fairytale's body. "Let me help you." She said simply her voice tinged with her accent. A nod would be given to @Güelle and @Rhea as she sat down near the three of the Lagoon. Pulling out a few healing herbs, she would wait for Fairytale to approve of her helping before she did so. She would also be there to patch up Isla's wounds when their Kriegerkönigin* was successful in fending off this would-be usurper.

The woman's teeth were a vice on Sable's wrist after their quick release from her shoulder and she ceased any further movement with the paw and the attached arm to avoid any shredded tendons.

Instead, as she felt the woman gain purchase on her planted limb, she did the only thing she could do to keep from falling face first into the ground, a sure end to their battle: she pushed off with her back feet trying to shove her entire body weight up and forward into the woman, just as her front is wiped out from under her. She was still a bit off balance and couldn't quite control her momentum, but hopefully the same could be said for @Brighid as well and they would both topple sideways.

Successfully they dodge each others initial attacks. Both women graze the other's cheek in succession, Icefang feeling talons pull down on her shoulders while she holds onto the back of Cassandra's neck. She can feel the sudden weight shift towards her and rather than fight it she smirks and gives a push backwards so that she lands onto her back with Cassandra on top of her. A small grunt echoes from her lips, the impact only stinging but barely felt under the surge of adrenaline. Keeping her chin tucked, the high sovereign attempts to use her grasp on Cassandra's neck as an anchor in an attempt to keep her head close to her and keep her from jumping away as hind paws begin to thrash back and forth at an attempt to cut into the tender exposed stomach of her opponent.

She would be a fool to think she could walk away from this war unscathed. She had come here for that very purpose; to earn her scars, her place. To show not just the world but herself that she was capable of something more than the destiny that had been chosen for her. Icefang had been one of the first to see it—Nikandr, and even Cassius, despite all his machinating and misgivings.

Melusina was not the girl she once was. She could never be that girl again. And as she stared down that inevitable abyss she had no tether to hang onto; she could only plunge.

Her heavy and furious gaze falls upon the ghost that is her father, but she does not find defeat or resignation in his eyes. Luther's betrayal had come at a heavy cost, and her mother's death had wrenched the last of his fury into unrelenting grief. Then, she had seen that grief dissipate into a nothingness behind cloudy eyes and final breaths. But now, he was so very alive, and angry and aching and just as he once was.

But it was already too late.

Melusina had tread a path from which she could not return.

Even if she wanted her family back, it could never be the same.

You will remember, @Alaric commands, and Melusina's fur flares around her nape, her eyes widening; wild, unrelenting, angry.

She staggers forward. Her steps falter, if only weighed by her grief and regret, but then it is gone all at once, replaced by a white-hot fury. Whatever softness may linger in her resolve is snatched away, and in its place only the broken, gnarled remains of a girl who had once been soft, and gentle, and kind. She could be those things no longer. She had already seen what the world did to those who were soft.

Remember what? she seethes, taking another step forward, bridging the gap between them. That I am no more than a sickly little girl, better off in a healer's den than on the battlefield? You died, Alaric, I watched you die. Now a ghost is trying to reclaim me.

And perhaps she hoped that whatever he once was died with him, so that she did not have to face down the man she'd come to adore and cherish.

Before she truly knows what she is doing, she clenches the distance between them. And even as she stands little higher than his shoulders, swept away in the furls of his dark mane and his imposing gaze. And yet, she steels herself, biting back the tears that threatened to tear down the brave face she bore.

The only thing I will ever remember is the way you let him destroy us, she finally snarls, I will show you, Father, just what Death has done to me.

And then, she leaps. Into him, into the abyss.

Chaos results around her and she shivers with excitement, fights break out around her and she can feels the air vibrate with the energy, her eyes take in everything at once, including her husband being charged at by the Illyrian queen. A rematch hmm? She hopes he kicks her ass.

Though she does not yell for him, she would not give away her disguise.

She finally sees something, no, someone that catches her eyes, she begins her descent towards him, slowly at first, as a predator would stalk their prey, her fiery gaze locking on him, pupils dilating as she hones in.

It does not take her long to cover the ground between them before she is launching herself using her hind legs towards his hind quarters, much like one would go for a zebras hindquarters when hunting, her claws outstretched in an "Attempt" to sink into his flesh while her lips part, teeth bared before she is snapping g her head forward, "Attempting" to latch onto his spine.

Fighting was breaking out between anything that moved; they were all in danger. His eyes remained locked on Dio for a moment longer until he went back to his pleas to his Loas. The Lagoon needed their help now more than ever. His words came out feverishly and he stumbled through them in his panic. The only thing to pull him out was Dio's shout. His eyes flew open to see her running straight into the fray towards a Brook lion. Aquila. Father. No, what was she thinking? Aquila was not here!

"No, no, no! DIO!" Just as he rose to stop her, the stinging pain of claws and teeth puncturing skin and the full weight of a lioness fell upon his back, bringing him crashing down into the sand in a heap. His teeth bit down hard on his tongue and the wind was knocked from his lungs. He struggled to move as his back was torn into—she had to be almost as large as he and his limbs were still weak—but finally found enough purchase in the ground to push from and try and roll backwards on top of her.
