There was some squabble going on at the body and that held the majority of his attention. It seemed the Cove wanted to claim the weeping woman - and the witch. It made no difference to him, that is, until the witch would hiss about being loyal to the Tollaire. He glanced to his brother, wondering if he had caught that as well, but he said nothing. Interesting. There was a part of him that yearned to learn more about his family history, perhaps the cove was where he could find answers?

she thinks back, bi-colored eyes glazed over in the moment it takes for magdalena to sink down into that cold nothingness of her heart. a hatchet she wanted to bury - a hatchet she can never bury. all of a sudden there is clarity, a breath of air that reaches and reaches and reaches into the very deepest parts of her being. a realization - she is glad for this. the joyful twist of her gut almost painful as she edges closer, face schooled into an entirely neutral mask. this was someone's mother, someone's lover, someone's friend.

was. her eyes sting with the joy of it. this was an enemy, one of two who had toppled everything good in magdalena's life. and now? a useless husk now. you wanted to take from me - look where that got you. she would have said it had the woman even a singular breath left in her. let ire and acid-coated venom be the last thing she experienced in her sorry, wretched life. let magdalena stärke drown out the sorrow, the affection, the love of her partner and children.

magdalena's eyes are wide - wild with the fulfilled promise of retribution. look mama, look! she attempts to move back and make an immediate break for home, trying to do so with the appendage in mouth. she wants nothing more than to return home to ecrosia with haste to make her proclamation. it is not the head that the stärke girl had wanted but for her purpose it would suffice. a mostly intact body is the one - the only - kindness she will offer the woman's kin. in the dark pit of her chest, magdalena thinks they do not deserve as much. the demons that live there whole heartedly agree.

Orchid felt the conversations of the three hovering above her begin to blend together into a full buzz, staring blankly as the Brook queen spit venom in her direction. Yes.... That was her life now. She had lost the one thing that protected her from the dangers of this world... Her loving crowned shield.... She was gone now. Everything truly felt..... Numb. She had no more tears to give, and her energy was wavering; not that she had any will to fight what was happening. At this point, she was safer a prisoner.

But what of her children? Eidolon was certainly already gone, and sh didn't have the strength to search the crowd with her eyes. Rather, as the body of her fallen lover was carefully dragged from beneath her by the cloaked witch, the shock of losing her grasp was the only thing that roused the lilac fae into following behind, Renfri's abyss pelt the only thing she focused on.

Elaine watched everyone closely before she moved out of the way of the other fights. The male had won and it was a sad day for the island. Elaine grunted as she looked toward the yearling with a now broken leg as she moved toward her dying mother. Elaine huffed harshly and looked toward @Isla ♔ to see how things were going for her before looking to the other Bluff members. It was a good day to not be part of the Saxe family. Elaine lingered long enough to make sure that nothing else would happen that she would be needed for before she slipped away with the yearling. Elaine might be cruel and have a heart of stone but she had also been in the place to watch the lifeless body of a parent before and would not deny the youth a chance to say goodbye.

Thanks anyway, she said. Those words would be written on his grave. Not a tower of standing stone, but a flat humble slab in the earth. There was nothing intimidating about him. Aeistrios the killer was leaving, and one small body would have been ignored if it had been left to lie with the rest of the fur clumps and maimed limbs. Some did the killed lioness homage. Some had also tried to help. Strangers, concerned for the children.

Some were good still. Even amid all of this. The rest? Could they learn to arrive to chaos and try to help instead of kill?

(Could he? He had tried, then cowered. Even a useless amount of bravery had drained him.)
