A snarl echoed around his bared fangs as he latched them deeper-still into her right ear. She struck out with her paw to try and sweep out his grounded leg – mistake. For, as he allowed himself to stumble slightly with the force of her movement, Bruno bit down harder and pulled until it was only that loose ear plummeting down with him. He had known plenty of blood in his days – had encountered foes as only a youth, though he preferred not to think about the specific target in his maturity. None had bled so much as her. None had stained those gnarled, umber locks quite like she did.

As Bruno caught himself and returned his offensive paw back to the earth, he was quick to rid himself of her repulsive appendage. He swung that great, curled crown to one side, attempting to toss the severed ear into the depths of mire muck several yards behind him.

"Wenn du ihn noch einmal berührst, werde ich dich töten." You touch him again and I kill you. He uttered lowly, each syllable falling through panting breaths. His skin wept as witness to two fights against his own flesh and blood that day. Bruno would be lying if he said they hurt any worse than the blows of strangers – siege from within the house was no new concept to such as him.

Bruno lingered his narrowed glare upon her for a matter of moments until he was satisfied the message rang clear. Then, his eyes were flitting about – taking stock of what bodies remained audaciously positioned within his borders. There were the other two whelps locked in shepherding battle, there his father stood upright and victorious; his gaze still searched.

There.

"You should go now," Bruno insisted as he made a stumbling approach toward his advisor and the lioness flanking him. Clover irises wandered across his face, down that curled mane, finally reaching the scarlet-stained furs of his pelt. A frown pushed persistently at his lips. "I think we have made our message clear." A brief glance, then, to the Bluffs diplomat.

Kian would have to be delusional to believe any woman was better off with the likes of Aeistrios. Perhaps he should have considered it a rescue mission, as Vio certainly might have - if he had a chance to think it through. As it were the collision of his teeth near the plum male's eye socket is distracting enough, and he recoils like a rumbling viper - expecting the exhausted lion to be well and truly spent.

But that would be too easy wouldn't it? And the beast would hardly be worth his awful reputation if he had enough sense to withdraw. Instead, as Violarum gathers himself back up with a snarl, the opposing male slaps his claws on either shoulder and pierces the skin in a mirrored fashion.

They had been exactly here before, and the clay King sought to push forward, attempting to ram his left-front shoulder into the center of Aeistrios' furred chest with no lack of gusto - hoping to throw him backwards and/or off balance whilst his forelimbs were raised.

Finally she was down, though probably not cowed. Aurochs panted and thought that his heart was pounding much too strongly for all the blood he'd (barely) shed. Fighting still circled around him. He snatched one glance around but couldn't see any other lions of the Plains. He must have gotten turned around during the course of the fight and he didn't want to drop his guard to look around any more than he needed to. Not until the... the prisoner was taken care of.

"Plains' don't like prisoners," he explained to both of them, his voice hoarse and hollow. There was some vacant void of despair in there. He didn't like fighting girls and this had never been a fair fight as soon as the Mire lion hopped in. He'd tried to help her. Still wanted to, somehow. (Not as much as he wanted to help himself, though, or he wouldn't have started shit in the first place.)

"But she'd like the Plains better'an the Mire. And I think y'all got enough shit to sort out." Outwardly he tried to sound rough and flippant, accenting this impression with a huff aimed a the Mire male. It was also obvious that he didn't know what the hell was going on or what was supposed to happen now. Just because he had a rank in the Plains didn't mean he knew how stealing lionesses was supposed to go.

Between dealing with the filthy boy, Arsinoë did not see Aneistri coming. One moment, she was busy trying to teach someone a lesson and the next, she felt sharp teeth digging into her tail. Another indignant yelp left the gods-formed girl. This was even more offensive than what the boy had done, though she had suddenly decided that it was would be far more important to correct the little miscreant that laid paws in her now.

It was cheating.

Shifting from the other and no longer concerned about him, Arsinoë whipped her head around to peer at the girl behind her. Well, if she wanted to bite, then she could face the consequences of her irreverence. With a huff, she raised her hind leg and then attempted to kick back at Aneistri as hard as she could.

Truly, it did not matter where she connected, as long as she did.

Panic floods her system as she flees through the muddy bog she had grown up in. It is only as she ducks beneath an overfallen tree that she hears the sound of heavy pawsteps behind her. Her ears lace back, fear causing her to push herself to run even faster, perhaps blindly through the dense forestry. "Where do you think you're going?" Her attacker hisses from behind and Eris cannot see who it is that is chasing her, she cannot risk pausing to turn and face them. Perhaps she is a coward, she would never say that she wasn't. The life of a fighter was not hers, she was a healer. She would not lay a paw on another and perhaps that was naive of her, but she wouldn't do it, not even now. White hot pain courses through her flanks as sharp claws lacerate the skin there; she lets out a frightened yelp, tucking her hind end beneath her as she attempts to rush forwards even faster, away from the angry hands that chased her.

The fight seemed to be over, or at least the one that had been the first to start. There was all sorts of chaos going on, and he was too young to understand what was going on. Which was why as fights continued to erupt and wind down he backed out of his hiding place and headed back deeper into the pride, fully intending to go back to the den. Whatever was going on, he didn't exactly want a part of it, and there seemed to be plenty who did. Some actually close to his age had been fighting, so maybe he should have gotten into things, but no. What was the point?

Mistake number two.

Her claws latch onto his foot, and her triumphant thoughts are short-lived as she realizes the error of her ways when his teeth sink deeper into her right ear. The pain overwhelms her, and she snarls a banshee yell, the shock sending her reeling backwards, reeling free from both him and her ear.

Blood poured like a river down the side of her face. So much blood, that she could no longer see with her right eye. The right half of her face was a striking red, as she staggered, trying to keep herself upright. No - the voice within her screeched, but it seemed so distant. It was, for once, as if she was Runa and Erna was but a thing in her skull, a far and distant fabrication of her mind. - stand! But she could not. Runa could not obey.

The pain was exilarating, for momentarily she could feel nothing. The shock took over her youthful body, and her wide eyes could scarcely see him - her son. She could scarcely hear his voice, the poison laced threats that leave his bloodied lips. A great bell rung in her head, and blood drip-dripped down her jawline, down her chin and into the mud.

You touch him again....

The words meld together, creating a jumble before she could grasp them. She swayed on her feet, trying to keep herself from falling. Trying, and yet her useless vessel disobeying.

... kill you.

She could feel jaws clench tighter - ever tighter - around her throat as she struggled to breathe. Her heart constricting, slowing ever still... Teeth sinking deeper & deeper into her jugular until she could no longer gasp for air --

The last thing she sees are two unseeing eyes glaring down at her.

No. No, this is not happening again, I will not - !

She wants to scream, but darkness takes her.

Perhaps it was a fortune that she could not keep track of the commotion at her side – could not feel a desertion she did not know had occurred. Hekate watched with chilling calm as the boy was sent tumbling backward, trying to ignore the way her head pounded and her chest heaved with continued adrenaline.

"Cease!" She hissed at him, though it was too late. The boy was already scrambling forward to shove at her, his stature making up for some of what his age lacked. Hekate grunted at the impact, skidding slightly upon frozen muck so her claws left raking gashes against the earth. Leaning forward, the older royal attempted to close her teeth around his scruff to disarm him.
