The summons barreled through the land, and Aideen is quick to react to them- to make her way to the sands- the place that smelled like her mother. She sees the mottled female from the Bluffs, with the pointed ears- the apparent challenger, and it is with sharp and assessing eyes that she studies the scene. Amara is throwing herself into another lioness- a fight already blossoming before the challenge can even begin, and Aideen works the sand with kneading paws, steadily watching and waiting and wondering, if her own fight would emerge from this.

Yet also, she looks for her mother- looks to see if @Halimede will show at this fight, to see her, and perhaps speak with her- even if they were likely on opposite sides of some bonds, Aideen did not think could be ignored. Her mother was off limits- but the others here, well why wouldn't she fight them if given a chance?

At dusk, beauty. Walpurgis grinned. An array of yellow fangs, braced without shame or expression, and spooling a thread of drool. Their queen spotted a child of the enemy and the greasy lioness leaned forward, grinning more, as she expected to see a burst of bones and guts. Yet another starry screaming lioness had to interrupt and Walpurgis snarled in frustration. Many of the enemy were small, and she tensed at the sight of @Io - shoulders rolled, hunching her greasy scruff with oodles of spikes, but before she could commit to a charge she was enlightened by presence of a certain fair lady.

Whopper whipped her head around, chin low, ears back, and a snarl frozen while her eyes lit up. Hello lady @Caltáriel! "I - I wasn't sleeping!" and she straightened herself on her bowed front legs and tensed her thinning hindquarters into parade formation. "I'm always ready, for the fighting, there's fighting here and - and, you, you shouldn't do fighting. You too pretty." Walpurgis nodded. She'd lived for a long time and seen many pretty ladies. It was one of the few subjects she was an authority in.

She smiled, but still drooled, her attention completely swept away from the battlefield for at least another second or as long as it takes for diceparser to choose a target thanks diceparser very cool.

A voice suddenly exploded and pulled Léonie away from any further attack on @Faustine. The Heiress turned her focus onto @Amara and sneered at her. “THEN KEEP YOUR GODDAMN RUNTS AWAY FROM MY HOME, YOU FUCK,” she snarled back, teeth flashing as she turned to face the cannibal matriarch, having received plenty of warning prior, due to her roar. The cannibals had attacked her family for less. Léonie was simply doing as they would’ve had her children come across their path.

Because of her new position, Léonie was not struck in the side, but more from the front. However, it was Amara’s teeth that was her primary concern, as they came together on her shoulder blade. “Tell me your wouldn’t do the same to MY family,” she panted out, “if we came for YOUR home.” Throwing her weight backwards, Léonie willingly ripped the skin Amara had bitten into, to try and create enough space between them to turn her head inward, toward Amara’s neck to try and bite its side.

The Cove King wouldn't sit alone for long before others came to be near him. @Lagertha was the first to skirt his flank but she spoke no words towards Keligan. Behind her would come @Sabran with no words spoken as well but there was distance between the trio. Shortly after came the newest member of Caladan and his smile formed as @Galaxia when the question was asked. "We have been tentatively cautious with Andal since one of their members tried to claim the Cove after Gauthier fell. The challenger is the current Heiress of Wolfbron and we are at minimum friendly with them. So we will support the Bluffs and any of their members." Not known to him was that @Sunder was hidden away from the small group of Cove members but she was watching him and the Challenger. Instead, Keligan's entire focus was on the lionesses who surrounded him. But then a fight broke out and periwinkle gaze cast over to watch Amara go after Leonie who was after a cub. Shaking his head, it would be interesting how that would go but he was more focused on the pride challenge and trying to find @Caltáriel in the growing crowd. He saw @Dysnomia in the distance not far off from him outside of the border and sent a welcoming chuff to his previous pride mate. His periwinkle gaze then saw her. The beautiful Dove. But he was conflicted. Should he run to her and steal her away from the Desert sands and take her back to the Beach with him? Should he simply call for her and hope she approaches? Crossing into the Oasis and the risk of Scorpius keeping the ground would only add the weight of conflict against the two prides. But how he longed to be near Calta again. Sending out a chuff to @Caltáriel, he hoped she would hear her. First step my dude. First step. Don't hurt her.

The call for the Oasis was an intriguing event for Tiamat to be able to come witness. Though Ronin was no longer in control of the pride, the lion that now ran it had been part of Ronin's leadership and Tiamat still considered them enemies of a sort, even if it wasn't entirely official.

She made her way to the sandy dunes of Andal Oasis, seeking out the border and hoping that the action was not so far away that she would have to cross the border to witness it. She was in luck. Many lions appeared to have gathered, several staying outside of the marked border of the pridelands. @Keligan was included in this group, and it was he that she approached. She was hoping the new challenger would win this fight, taking out a potential enemy if nothing else.

"Do you know the challenger?" she asked him, not sure if he would answer. He seemed to be looking around intently for something. Whatever happened here, it was best to be near allies in a situation like this. They could defend each other if need be.

She had done him a favor, but she also was unpredictable and he didn't completely trust her either. Still, she was of the bluffs and as such he would attend her challenge. When he entered the territory he was immediately on guard his eyes narrowed and his ears twitching. Approaching the group he noticed Amara in a fight, and immediately began to search for his own. @Apollinaire's voice made him turn to look at him, it had been ages since he had last seen him. A smirk curling on his maw while he chortled, calling out his own war cry, "les saigner à sec!" ("bleed them dry!") Tripfire is open to dom matches, just discord me please!

No regrets

and yet, every regret

The pale lioness hadn't moved from her perch on the rock, sparkling emeralds sweeping over the gathering people. It didn't go unnoticed that one lioness coming from the Oasis made a move to attack a youth she was not yet familiar with, only to be intercepted by the Bluffs High Sovereign. That told her all she needed to know about where the girl belonged. But even if that hadn't been the case, Lagertha found herself glaring at the Oasis lioness with disgust.

Sharp claws scraped against stone as she found herself delving into thoughts of what she'd so very much enjoy to do to anyone who would harm a child, a grin twisting her visage as it revealed more of her gleaming fangs. The arrival of @Sabran and @Galaxia was acknowledged with a low rumble, though the Gentry did not deign to move closer to her group, content right where she was, perched on her rock. It also did not escape her attention that @Keligan was looking for something....or someone. But she didn't interrupt him and merely purred a soft greeting to him.

Her wandering gaze lingered on some of the others, not familiar to her, not having sensed the presence of @Sunder for the time being. For a moment her attention lingered on @Tiamat as she approached, but no words came from her and only a soft, quiet greeting was rumbled.

There were likely better things to do than to run around to follow a call that shouldn't even matter to her. Perhaps even better, safer. But she didn't do safe anymore. Safe hadn't solved anything. Hadn't made anything better. And so she found herself trotting along the so clearly defined border. She knew better than to just step onto the territory, even if she didn't care for borders all that much.

Looking around, the small, sorrel roan lioness could see a lot of other lions gather, though all were unfamiliar to her. Tufted ears flicked as she observed the fight breaking out nearby, but she paid it no mind as she continued on her way, finding a free spot to settle at some distance from the border.

Louve would not stop them from coming. Having been in several wars before her first year of life she expected her offspring to have the same trials. They were, however, under strict orders to pay mind to their surroundings, and to stand down unless attacked first.

In hindsight she should have told them to sit this one out. But Andal had been her first target in war, too, and she would not forget how it had felt to reign victorious over the Oasis when she was young.

What she did not account for was them having no fucking honor.

No sooner did she arrive (trailing closely behind her husband and daughter) one of the grown women of the sands was launching at the child. Louve immediately tenses, shoving herself to stand beside @Apollinaire, between @Léonie and @Faustine. There are no words but curled lips and a vicious snarl, teeth and claws more than prepared to tear in to the bitch for even daring to attempt to maim her daughter.

Except -- Amara is there, intercepting her, and Louve battles with annoyance that it wouldn't be her that got to tear the Oasis Heiress apart. Focusing instead on the relief she drops her head to Faustine, bright eyes looking her over even as the tiny Wolfbron medic speaks up to ensure the girl is okay. Louve settles with giving her a sharp look, a silent warning to stay close to her parents.

"Laissez-les montrer leurs vraies couleurs, mon amour," let them show their true colors, my love she murmured under her breath to Apollinaire, only loud enough for him and perhaps their chartreux daughter to hear, "nous n'attaquons pas en premier." we do not attack first. While he may not play the game of politics she must, and Louve knew damn well the hand it would give them if they were not the ones to start shit.

Her gaze shifts briefly from the fight ahead of her to the gathered crowd, settling momentarily on @Aideen with a quiet chuff for the girl's attention, inviting her closer if she wished.

it was a fight he would not be willing to miss. wolfbron was one of their closest allies, the oasis one of this most significant enemies. alaric, thus, is drawn by duty as much as curiosity. it was bound to be a tumultuous battle -- he half expected war, if he was honest -- and the starke could no sooner stay away than he could stop breathing. so he comes, the long-crowned king of the mire, and as is his usual mode he settles some distance from the rest. he is certain to stay on the unclaimed side of the border, grappling with a thousand memories as he studies the challenger. unsurprisingly there is already another fight between the bluffs queen and the too-familiar stripped daughter of his long-lost lover. he watches this for a moment before he seeks louve's attention, giving a brief nod of implied support before he idly scans the gathering crowd..
