The dog was quickly learning to hate the mountains. He was not a man equipped to climb. He was not agile, nor limber enough for it, did not possess such a thick coat as typical mountain dwelling species, and frankly just didn't care for the uneven terrain. All of that distaste was exactly the reason he now found himself out for a hike within Freyr Peak. The best way to overcome something was to face it head on, and by golly was he ever. Muscles ached beneath the strain of just plain and simply climbing. He purposely looking for more challenging paths as the dark beast explore the mountain, wanting to strengthen himself against such exertion. Perhaps the training would aid him in battle, making his hits that much harder, and his body that much more difficult to knock over. Everything had a reason.

Amidst his training, though, came a summons for nearby hunters. The lions of this land certainly liked to hunt a lot. While he could sit and analyze such a bloodlust for food, he also had to give it to them that they didn't seem to care who joined the hunt. The dog wasn't one to pass up an opportunity to eat, so he quickly made his way to the growing group of lions, ready for yet another hunt beneath his belt.

Hero had been a busy lad, as of late. Between the hunting, spirit learning, and exploring, the Hodari felt like he'd been all over Amaryllis already. Though the colder mountains to the north were his favorite, the masked lion decided it was beneficial to experience all the different types of mountains the lands had to offer. If anything, he'd probably learn that the Freeze was a much more inviting terrain for the plush-coated lion, but it still couldn't hurt to get some exercise anyway. He climbed the Peak for a while, just trying to build up his stamina while already getting used to the terrain. He sought out a gradual, but steady incline so as to make his training last longer until the shuffling of bodies caught his attention.

A group of lions was once again on the move, presumably in search of a feast. No one among the group looked particularly familiar, just the same faces that seemed to be on a hunting spree lately. That is, until he saw her starry coat again. From the back of the pack, Hero spotted @Carina once more, simply dazzled by her appearance. He didn't usually get so star struck, but there was just something about her appearance that drew his icy gaze. With so many lions already in position, though, the Hodari didn't dare try to get close just yet, nor did he expect her to notice him. All the same, he had a desire to keep this group safe if they truly desired to hunt atop the mountains.

Ever since meeting Arachnae, Hero wondered if there was a god for everything like how her god of the moon was also a god of healing, knowledge, justice, defense, and travel. Though it may be stupid, the masked boy was willing to give it a try. "God of the hunt." Because there must be a god of the hunt in someone's religious beliefs. "Bless this hunting party and keep them safe. Aid us in our endeavors." The blessing was kept quiet, but the dark boy felt it with his whole being. Whether he was truly speaking to a 'god of the hunt' or maybe to Maua themself, or maybe even no one at all, at least he tried. Now, let the hunt begin.

Orchid was beginning to get VERY bored of this taking care of herself crap, as she lifted herself form her cushioned bed once again, rubbing herself in dust and moss to cover her scent before heading out to hunt amongst the mountains. She would search for others, knowing inevitably someone else would be hunting here, as there always seemed to be now days.

She would join them, standing some distance away, preparing to take down something to fill the void in her still recovering body, brown ringed gaze scanned the surrounding area for whatever they may find.

Now, this was quite the gathering, wasn't it? Cirilla had caught wind of a large mixture of scents upon her travels through Amaryllis, and her curiosity had piqued. Adjusting her path and making her way up the peak that seemed to watch over the place in which she lived, Cirilla arrives to see a large crowd gathered to hunt. She lingers on the edge for a moment, scanning the bodies of those that had gathered, until her rosy eyes fall on the familiar and enticing figure of @Amaroq.

The girl moves effortlessly through the crowd, weaving boldly around the various bodies of the lions that had gathered to hunt. She had come here to do that, but why not have a little fun in the process? Arriving to the left side of the crimson vampire, Cirilla simply allowed her tail to dance along his back, silently waiting for further instruction.

Leila awaited the start eagerly, her hunger revived by the cool mountain air. There are a few familiar faces - a few from hunts previous. But others are strangers, and Leila keeps mostly quiet because of it, even if plenty of them seem interesting. Perhaps she'd catch up with them at another opportunity where the focus was less violently-oriented.

Taking to the slopes, the creatures they come across are wildebeests, hardly a challenge for such a large group. The herds had moved here to enjoy the autumn grazing, a pleasant change of pace from goat. Leila made sure to be swift and obedient, following the lead of the other hunters the best she could.

Once the beasts were felled, she stood back to survey the group before she'd muscle in politely to grab her share. With many mouths to feed, there wouldn't be much to take home so Leila merely took what she needed to fill her belly and trotted on her merry way, bloodied, down the mountain.

once more the hunt proceeds, once more they succeed. this time there are two wildebeest, and both die upon the peaks. the scent of blood fills the air, burning her nose with the underlying scent of ozone from being up this high. a sigh flutters from her throat, remaining back as the others feast. like with the last hunt launched upon this mountain, there was not much to see in terms of flora. sprigs of something, remnants of something else — whatever grew here was hardy, albeit not pretty. no use for the riotous colors of the gardens all the way up here. still, it’s good to know: when winter came, the trek up here would be treacherous but it might be worth it. her stomach squeezes with hunger and impatience, faolán seeks to leave… but only after @Harou ♔ does. following after him, silently, keeping his steps dogged as she thinks and thinks and thinks.

Their victory would be overwhelming, the pair of creatures taken to the ground easily by the lions that had gathered. Blood dappled the area, a scene marks until time washed it away, the smell of iron tinging the air. Hungrily, Lunaire consumed, inhaling flesh into the pit of her stomach, drenching her face in crimson. Silently, she would collect a mouthful of entrails, quickly beginning to make her way from the hunt back to the mire, stopping just for a moment to peer at the stream she had seen once again. She would have to remember to return here, to collect the white stones. But that would be for another time, for her mouth was already full.

It was hard not to notice the lingering eyes that were upon her. That feeling you get when you just know that someone is looking at you and not just "looking in your direction". Like their eyes were firmly placed upon her and without hesitation looked up to see where they were or who they were. The first was @Dagr - a grey coated lion that she had seen his gaze hit her own just seconds before his eyes left elsewhere. Gaze followed his to see them land on a merle-coated lioness, and she felt invisible once more. If only for a second.

Eventually, and unexpectedly, she found a second pair of eyes upon her. Locking to his if he didn't immediately look away - @Hero. Carina was watchful, if anything, given that she had never experienced anything close to crushes or feeling a closeness to anyone other than perhaps Tiamat. There were not many who had snuck their way passed her emotional defenses but she was curious as to what made him stare at her for longer than the other had. Curiosity was a, well, curious thing and sometimes dangerous but could prove fruitful.

The gathering felled two distinctive wildebeest within minutes of each other and pride could be said and had as she took a few moments to linger on the outside of most of the groups gathering. Bright eyes looked around the mountainous terrain to see if she could spy another Scillan among them. Traveling across the slopes and moving her head slightly to gaze around other's bodies, recognizing that her chances of taking anything back to her pride were likely slim to none. Especially if anyone decided to get possessive over the kill as she would have no one to back her up.

So Carina began to dip out of the area but not without resorting back to her discovery of some wild mango. The hunt was still abuzz in her head so she wasn't sure if it was the same mango that she had taste-tested half an hour ago. Either way she managed to begin disconnecting it from its plant based. Teeth sinking into the mango purely on accident as she grabbed at it and discovering that it did, in fact, taste sweet. Liquids gushed out of it and she had to let go and step back, licking her lips as though it were the greatest thing she had ever come across.

Carina looked around swiftly to see if anyone else was watching before she attempted to locate another grove of these. Carina moved a few feet to her right then to her left, before spotting another patch of them nearby. This was a perfect gift to give and she would no doubt desire to come back. All that was left was to swiftly memorize the edges of the peak that surrounded her. Marking silently as her eyes trailed the nearby ledges as well as the crowded clusters of trees before her nose shot upwards to try and gauge where the sun was in the sky and which way it was headed.

Only once she felt certain did she stare at the long-leafed, sweet-tasting plant once more, it's scent taunting her and inviting her. Caving instantly she reached forward again to take it a bit nicer into her mouth so she could take it home. This was a nice find for not being able to take a bite of the wildebeest home. exit carina

Hunt after successful hunt. Blood saturates the earth, coating his talons. Here, the animals are run into the hard earth; their limbs torn into a frenzy. It's moist and red all around. Vermillion coats the earth. All that red staining Harou's fur. Harou is quick to indulge, tearing at the hide until a fleshy strip of meat is rendered from its body. He swallows it down. Down, down, down, all that flesh is consumed. He's not content, however, not in the least; even as @Faolán shadows his steps. Here, Harou looks at the remaining Bjorns, before going back into the wilderness to continue scouting.
