How does it always seem to happen that they go after the most extreme targets whenever she happens to be around? Why is she always surrounded by daredevils? Not that she can't understand the benefits of the feast that an elephant could provide, but still.

Having no desire to injure herself again like she had the last time she'd participated in a hunt of this magnitude, Adrien would hang back a little bit, focusing her efforts on herding the beast rather than attacking. There were plenty others here who were brave enough to take on that task, and before long the great beast was felled.

It was something of a shame, perhaps, to see the life of such a grand creature be cut short, but the noblewoman knows that it will not go to waste. To that end, she tears away her own portion of the meal, plus some extra to take back to her jungle home. Maybe it would make a fine gift for Asteria.

What is it they're chasing exactly? Hadiya had initially assumed that it would be a gazelle or some other sort of antelope. Maybe even a zebra. But most of things don't make the ground shake when they run. Well, not unless a whole herd was stampeding anyway, but the seeress does not hear the thunderous clatter of endless hooves. No, it's just one beast that's stamping through the grasses now. One really, really, big beast that soon reveals its identity by releasing a fierce, ear-shattering trumpet into the air.

Oh dear.

Hadiya would like to think that her efforts spent sprinting in zigzags about the area had helped somehow, but perhaps she wasn't the best one to ask. If nothing else, she'd managed not to get trampled beneath those massive feet that she couldn't see but could certainly feel whenever they stomped their way towards her, so...success?

She's never had a taste of elephant before, as far as she could recall, so she's rather interested in taking a bite once all the noise had stopped. The first sample proves acceptable. It's with a full belly that Hadi returns to where she'd set those flower samples down...Er, where precisely was that, again? Perhaps she's gotten herself a bit turned around. It's nothing more than a brief disappointment however, for the recognizably distinct scent of basil is quick to capture her attention next. She noses her way over to the flat, sort of oval-shaped leaves, burrowing her jaws close to the earth so she could pull the whole plant up by its roots.

At least she'd have something to add to her stores. Provided this didn't get lost somewhere on the way back too, of course.

Pulling his head sideways, he does manage to break the thick branch in two with a loud crack, but he's hungry, and he's ready for something edible.

The elephant is hard to miss standing in the featureless terrain of the waterhole, and it quickly seems to become the unlucky point of interest. It defends itself admirably despite being caught off guard, but as so many before it, it stands no chance against their collective might. He notices a familiar form in the huge crowd, and knowing that @Cirilla is out here hunting, and not picking some fight without him is oddly comforting.

Full and content, he takes a slab for Andal's cache, and affectionately bumps his head against Cirilla's before making the long journey back.

Oh, prey is afoot alright. In fact, it's pretty hard to miss. When he comes to the end of its trail, he's panting from the exertion of his run, eyes lifting slowly to rest upon the lumbering giant. An elephant. Normally, such a hunting endeavor might be considered pretty hopeless, but sweeping his scarlet gaze further along, it seems to him there's a lot of hungry faces gathered about. More than he can count or has ever seen before, and maybe enough to wear down the titan and successfully fell it. He joins the party, but doesn't draw too close, snapping at the creature and landing some superficial bites as he allows the more experienced lions to do the real heavy lifting. At last, their collective efforts succeed, and when he makes his part of the kill disappear down the hatch, he feels achy, but perfectly satisfied.

As he's sharpening his teeth on the branch, an elephant comes onto the scene, the earth shuddering impressively underneath its weight. They're going to hunt that? As lions begin converging on the titan without hesitation, he soon discovers the answer is yes.

He neglects the abused branch to join them, but as always, keeps his distance, feinting bites once or twice in an attempt to distract it. With such huge numbers, he finds out someone as small as him isn't exactly needed or necessary for this hunt. Still, being in such close proximity to a giant like that fills his veins with adrenaline, and even after the titan falls, it still runs fresh through his veins.

He wobbles over hesitantly to take his share, quickly ripping off a piece before any bigger lion can bully him off. With the slab of meat in tow, he takes off, tired muscles protesting as he runs his way back to Andal.

The girl was alarmed by the sheer mass of the creature being hunted. It was too big and heavy to escape lions, but perhaps that was because it didn't need to run. It looked like it could destroy a lion with one violent blow.

She would watch for a while, but in the end, she would run off in the other direction, not wishing to see what it was capable of. She would run the length of the field, pausing only to take a drink from the pond, chilling her dry throat. As she had returned to the main feature of the landscape, she would use the landmark to direct her in the proper direction.

Taking up a few pretty flowers along the way, she would set a running pace toward her new home.

It seemed as though it were almost the same lions that joined the huntin' groups together; a silent observation. Lucien would begin to sniff the air again, curious to see what they were all smellin' and soon enough the elephant made its arrival. He'd hunted an elephant or two, and even though they were tough to take down, he knew it wasn't impossible. So makin' sure he stayed clear of gettin' injured by its front half, he'd go after the thick trunk-like legs, helpin' to bring it down before it was takin' its last breath. Now this was a feast. The dun man couldn't help but smile at their victory, movin' toward the body and beginnin' to fill up on their prize. Once he were full he would move closer toward the waterin' hole, lappin' at the water before making' his way away from the party and back toward where he was callin' home nowadays.

And then... they hunt elephants.

He would not call that easy, but with such a large group it is almost too easy to bring down the elephants safely. It is a good exercise and use of his skills, so there are no complaints from the ranger. When it is all said and done, there is more than enough to share without fights.

Thankful for being able to bring a decent meal home to store, Arcturus waits until the others take their fill before moving in himself, and removes as much as he can carry before taking his leave.

Io Black

Io did her best to help with her current capabilities. She was small, lacking of muscle and the size to be of use. But what she lacked in size, she compensated it on her agility and her speed. So maybe it wasn't all lost yet. Whatever happened she was ready to prove herself, to prove that size wasn't always a limit for a lion's worth.

An elephant was what fell on their combined forces, even she managed to help. Tired she took some time to rest then eat a bit. Since she had no home to go back to, she didn't have to think on carrying too much with her. All done, she walks away.

More and more lions show up, and suddenly, the dog was not keen on the thought of having to share his meal with all of them. Whatever they took down, it better be big. Big didn't mean easy to kill, however, and the elephant would certainly make them work for its flesh. In the end, it was a good thing they had so many lions in one place (and the tiger, he supposed). There was plenty of food to go around, and plenty of bones as well, though no one seemed as interested in the bones as he was.

With the target down, the obvious choice of trophies would be that of the tusks, but of course the dog wouldn't be the only one interested. Sure enough, he watched as a man scoured into the tusks, but yet didn't seek to break them from the beast's skull. Nor did he even bite into them. Only scratches. Maybe they were just too difficult to dislodge, so the mutt turned his sights onto something else. For being such a massive creature, elephants sure had small tails in comparison to the rest of their bodies. Even the lions seemed to have bigger tails, but in the hound's eyes, it seemed like the perfect little chew toy. He quickly set to work gnawing off the appendage, hopeful that it held some good bones inside. If anything, it worked as a bully stick of sorts, cleaning away the debris from the hunt off of his teeth as the plum lion found a quiet place to himself. The texture and consistency of the skin and flesh was... odd, but, hey, he'd never know this if he didn't try it. Food was food.
