Seneca is not often the one leading the pride's hunts, but call him an opportunist. When the promise of a meal wafts across his nares, it's difficult to resist; the Oasis is growing by the day, and there is always a need for more food. Especially living in the middle of the desert -- prey is not always easy to find. Darkness had fallen some time ago, the moon at its highest peak as the king ventures away from his reclining perch and descends into the pride territory. He chuffs softly, rousing the members of his pride who might be nearby and interested in a bit of a midnight snack.

Ivaan was excited to say the least, as this would be perhaps the very first hunt he was going to participate in. Never doing so until now. And of course he felt anxious, unsure if he was going to mess it up or not. Hunting was certainly not going to be something he wanted to dedicate himself as a main trade. Feeling more into the making others laugh or more social affairs. It was late at night and yet he was the first to arrive, with desire to help as he waited back for the king's orders. He was going to go along as he had no experience. It was better to do what he was told. Hsi family was long gone, and staying behind was his choice, tired of not being able to settle in a single place. And like that he waited. @Seneca
make way, make way! diantha says as she zips through the oasis desert, a streak of silver and gray fur ball leaving behind tiny paw prints. she's never been in a hunt before but she's seen momma catch small prey for her and her sisters to play with. so she's smaller and younger — and then what? it's not like they can stop her from watching. there are only two lions — daddy and another lion a couple of months older than her — so she decides to find her own spot and wriggle down into the sand. her feet taps impatiently on the sandy ground, lips pursing, and eyes watching from one lion to the other. |

The call that rang out roused the medic from a fitful rest. What had caused the rest to be fitful drifted away as he opened his eyes. He couldn't remember the dream that he had been having, only that it had been troublesome for the mind. So the call ended up being something of a reprieve instead. It got him away from the thoughts that had plagued him once his consciousness had drifted.
The pale male yawned and stretched himself as he got up. He shook off the lingering remnants of sleep and headed out to find out what the call was all about. He found others gathered about Seneca. Some sort of late night meeting going on? But then there was the scent of prey on the air and it clicked.
His crimson gaze drifted among those whom had gathered before he spotted the cub nestled down in the sand. She wasn't his own but he couldn't help to feel protective of her as she was royalty. The large lion moved to stand near to the child in order to keep an eye on her. "Make certain you don't get squished, burying yourself like that."
@Diantha
So the great thing about chronic nightmares, and night terrors, was that he didn't actually do a lot of sleeping without help from a special herb or mushroom or something. Which he'd been trying very hard to abstain from in the hopes of finally summoning the only ghost he actually wanted to see. Honestly, he was starting to wonder if the man's spirit had immediately moved on - in which case, wow, okay, no unfinished business or goodbyes he still wanted to say? Should he be offended by that?
Anyway, he'd been pacing outside his den when the call went out and immediately seized the opportunity for distraction. He wasn't the first to arrive, but that was just fine. An amused smile came at the sight of a tiny cub burrowed down, but his attention soon shifted to Seneca himself as Haros waited expectantly for the man to start things off.
6 years, no bonus He had always been a bit of a night owl. The kings call is one he is quick to answer, determined to rise amongst the ranks here in the oasis and earn the favour of the one who led. So he joins them, curious to see how many were in the pride awake at this hour and interested in learning more about them. Not to mention scoping out a possible match for the future…. He pads up quietly to join them, forest gaze moving from one to another, surprised to note it was almost entirely males. Barring a child - how many of those were running around here!? - there were no lioness’! How odd… Alaric shrugged off his surprise and disappointment and offered a quick nod to the king before he settled in to wait for direction. |
Who was Ebrahim to ignore the summons of his King? It was late, but the Azar was awake - restless, in fact - and saw no reason to sit idle when he could be.... networking. Sadly it would require some effort on his part, but good things rarely fell into open paws; they had to be worked for. The young and lazy Ebrahim of years ago might have ignored the request to hunt, but the older and wiser Ebrahim.... was still lazy. But he was smarter, too, and knew that this was for the best. And so he would fall in line, approach slow and precise as his attention shifted across the group that had formed. All men; not one lioness in sight.
Oh, how his forefathers would have laughed.
No matter. The male straightened himself up, taking note of all the faces in their midst before finally settling his attention on @Seneca.
She had only just settled into the Oasis but even so Kira wouldn't necessarily consider herself "settled" by any means. The sand was annoying and gritty and the heat never seemed to dissipate no matter what she tried, but regardless of that this was still home no matter how uncomfortable she was. Her father had always had terrible taste in territories, at least that hadn't changed about him over the time they spent apart. The king's voice would drift across the terrain and Kira was pleasantly surprised, she didn't think anyone else would be out and about at this time but then again she had been wrong before (no matter how few those occurrences were). The merle woman moves through the darkness, drifting across the sand and coming up on the tail end of those gathered. It appears she is the only female present aside from a small cub at the forefront of those gathered. Interesting, this was a first. Kira had never seen so many men willing to hunt but then again there was a first for everything.
