Unlike last time, Luther was completely alone today. However, the war of last time had surely left a lasting impression upon the Ecrosians and their allies. In his humble ( perhaps foolish ) opinion, this only served as an advantage. Let them be wary of daggers in the shadows. Let them shriek inf ear at every little rustle. That is the least of what they deserved.

The bitter sibling was here for what was his. Fury and cruelty danced hand-in-hand upon snaggle-toothed features. He’d grown tired. Desperate, perhaps, but he was not going to give up. Not until the crown sits atop his head, and all his kin are outcasted just like they’d done to him. I will not stop until they know this feeling.

When you hit rock bottom, there wasn’t anywhere else to go but up.

Today he intended to punish them for their betrayals – starting with the second son.

Upon peering into the darkness of the den only darkness peered back along with the disgusting stench of Bruno and… something ( more than one ) else. He whipped his head in irritation to search the perimeter for the sneaky little worm, but instead he found @Alarith high up in the branches. What—? His brows furrowed in confusion at her presence, but he was too far away to confirm if she carried the Mire sigil on her pelt or not. It all lasted just a second before he heard the rustling of leaves and branches and then a blurry shape flew toward him.

A ferocious roar marked the beginning of their battle as Luther whirled around to attempt to meet Bruno head-on. Unfortunately, he was not that fast and so the second son’s claws dug into his spine, dragging down to his ribs and his left shoulder. The pain came right after, wounds oozing red down to the mud & snow. ”Kind of you to wait until I'm home.” “Ich bin nett—” ”I am kind—” he continued to turn, trying to finally stand head-on with Bruno. “—und doch behandelst du mich so schlecht, kleiner Bruno!” ”—and yet you treat your big brother so badly, little Bruno!” his sneering jaws snapped onward to try and grab a hold of Bruno’s left limb, specifically the mid-section further from the dangerous claws. And so I will kindly kick your ass today.

He had kept himself toward the back of the gathering for this meeting, his back pressed up against a trunk of a tree as if needing it to help support his weight. The glutton kept his eyes on Bruno while his attention went in and out, ears flicking and tail thumping the ground as if his patience were wearing thing. Vulferam would much rather be sprawled out on the ground in his den, the thick furs he's collected over hi short years keeping him comfortable. But he knew, as a Prince, that he needed to attend such meetings, but there was nothing keeping him from hiding in the background.

It's a call that brings the meeting to an abrupt stop, a call that they had all heard before. The hackles along his spine bristle as he slowly rises to his paws, coal eyes narrowing upon his brother as he speaks to the masses. And then he is off, and Wolf is slow to follow behind him. He knew he'd need to defend the Mire if their precious Luther had brought backup, and Vulferam was not too keen on fighting today - especially after his last two had ended in failure. With a shake of his skull does his pace quicken, soon coming to Bruno's den where the fight begins. The Prince keeps his guard up, defenses slipping into position while he keeps his head on a swivel.

Drama always seemed to come around Amaryllis, and that was what she enjoyed the most.To find herself in the middle of the gossiping and complicated relationships around the many prides that called it home.

And yet again, the Mire was at the center of it, a pride that had been lasting just as long as her own. Quietly, making sure to have masked her scent by fabricating that of the mire, she snuck into the pride, but not going that further; she wanted to watch the fight, nothing else. But knowing how badly some saw her family, she had to be cautious for now.

She used the dense vegation to try hiding, while her eyes of pink stuck on the fight going. That was all she came for, she held no bad intentions by doing such.

A meeting had been called and Fenna had lingered at the edge wondering what was going on. Understanding and following the politics of prides had never been a strength of hers. The news that a lion had left held no meaning and she mostly zoned out until a call disturbed the meeting. His tunes were familiar as she had once waited for them hiding in the shadow ready to attack and weaken the very pride she was now a prisoner of.

Anger bubbled into her gut as she rose following others as they took up war positions at their king's demand. Fenna had no position to take but figured she'd watch the chaos, and see if she could find a worthy fight. Not a terribly bright decision considering she was fighting fit and ready to take back her freedom.

The lioness would arrive in time to see the two brothers collide, a family feud for a silly crown. Part of her felt sad she was not the one entangled with the paler male. He owed her a pice of flesh for the mess he made last time. But even Fenna wasn't foolish enough to intervene in a pride challenge. Instead, her ears caught the words of the older king.

The Yu woman makes her way to her sister in laws side chuffin in greeting before looking after the older king as he stalkes away apparently to defend some smaller lioness. "What did you do to ruffle his fur and are we joining in the fun?" the Yu asks @Narsil with a soft laugh to her voice before her mismatched gaze moves to run over the faces starting to gather, having no idea who was their friend or foe. Most smelled like the mire, but with the king's words, Fenna would leave that as an undeciding factor.

Livyatan arrives on the curb of his teacher and father influences words answering his mothers. The ebony and ivory lion looks between them. A choice is to be made here, and he would not hesitate in the decision. It had been made up already.

“You speak without purpose, except to incite a unnecessary fire to satisfy ones own love of the flame.” he words fell from his lips in a firm tone, a tone of finalization. With the same command that a king or patriarch would uphold. He spoke while moving towards Alaric and focusing on her.

Livyatan had been exhausted with his mothers presence, he loved her though they expressed such things very rarely) it was time for her to go. To be a nuisance in another’s life, let him live his. No that wasn’t correct either. It was time he took the mantle of the Tollaire since she didn’t give a shit to do anything with it.

The Ecorsia lion would move to stand to guard @Alaric ’s rear as he always did at these things, watching his mother cautiously. And @Fenna. If they wanted freedom they could wait until the dust settled here. He sneered at his mothers cautioning but made no reply, she didn’t hold the same power over him anymore.

Alarics words glaze over her and she turns to face him, a mock look of sympathy upon her facial features. “You mistake me then or your eyesight is getting poor Alaric,” she snorted, when did she say she was turning against anyone? “Pride challenges happen rapidly and often, I don’t speak of those,” she heard @Fenna join her side and felt a bit more secure in her placing. Fenna wasn’t her enemy.

“I speak of ones children that should learn to expand their fathers empire not tear the existing one apart.” She spat in @Alaric 's direction. Amber eyes narrowing at him, if he was so confident in his son’s ambitions why was he ushering to a lioness’ defense? Maybe he had weakened in his old age.

“We do not join unless forced,” she spoke to Fenna, glancing to her sister in law she added in a low hiss “Oh, and we are getting the fuck out of here when this is over.” She saw and heard her eldest son speak, and felt her lips peel back in annoyance. “You do well to remember your place my son” she added growling to her eldest. Maybe he spent too lojg in the Starke’s company.

"“Shut it” the snarl that left the youths mouth sounded so far away from his own. But coming in to hear the bickering his elder brother and mother were starting it set a tension in his heartstrings. Pompeii didn’t feel compassion for either, just… angry that this was the time they chose to air out their problems. The teen strutted between them and sat down with a gruff grunt, he was smaller than both but he had a ego just as big as their bodies. Ears were pinned back in his growing mane while he listened in case someone charged at him. He was in neutral between his family, he wouldn’t aid either one.

He was drawn to the ruckus like a moth to flame. It was a family matter, but it was a fight and Evren would not be satisfied til he knew what was happening- nosy as he was. He took his time, however, as the uproar continued, so that he could rub against the swampland so that the bluffs scent was washed clean and replaced with that of the swamp and the snow. He hated this snowy weather, it was supposed to be warm and rainy, not cold and snowy.

Evren kept his distance, staying just within earshot, the fight had already begun as he slid into a hiding spot among the edges of the swamp clearing. It seemed the white one had disrupted a meeting and was now fighting for the crown- again. There was discontent, anger, and confusion going around the group that had gathered. Evren narrowed his eyes, squinting to see through the snow to make sure he wasn’t misinterpreting what was going on.

"I am kind—and yet you treat your big brother so badly, little Bruno!”

He rolled his eyes in a scoff cut short by the feeling of fangs boring into the thin flesh of his forearm. Bruno seethed as the limb sopped with fresh blood, agony shooting up the arm as if in bursts of bright light. Every fiber – every hair of his being lit up with hot rage as the reality of their fight sank in. Some distant part of him, too quiet to be heard over their guttural roaring, questioned when he had asked for any of this.

It happened too quickly. It was a simple miscalculation – a simple misstep. Bruno threw his weight backward in an attempt to free the limb from the ghoulish eldest, though freedom came more easily than he had anticipated. He stumbled as he felt himself flying backward with the lack of oppositional force, brutal impact shaking his skull as his head collided mercilessly against the trunk of a swamp tree.

Perhaps the only mercy to Bruno in that moment was how the world went dark around him before he could see the look on Luther's face.

Amara heard the call, the same voice for the same place. Amara moved so that she would be there. She didn't know how much she would be able to do without her crown but she would be there as support for the family that had been their biggest ally. She found her way to the challenge and took a look around. Things were calmer than last time but she was on edge, waiting to see what would happen this time. @Narsil's voice rose over the others and she looked toward the lioness. It is not uncommon for new leaders to be challenged. She said to the lioness, poking in only because it was clear that the lioness was making it seem that it was @Alaric's fault. Our children are able to do as they please. Even if it goes against how they were raised. She moved to @Alaric's side to make it clear that she was with him and if the lioness wanted to attack, she could. Amara hadn't been in a fight in awhile.
