@Narsil moved away accepting her help and Fenna hummed as she followed the blue woman. Though She'd only take a few steps before looking over her shoulder at Narsil's sons. Her gaze lingered on the older of the two a grin forming on her lips as she spoke to @Livyatan "I'll be waiting near the pits for a re-match, call for me when you're ready" The Yu knew she was giving the boy an advantage, letting him choose when but with everything burning around them she figured it was probably the least she could do. They were family, at least to her. And if he didn't? Well, Fenna wasn't above starting a one-person manhunt.

Of course, there was also Narsil's other son. Fenna didn't know him well but he didn't seem pleased with his family fighting. Understandable. However, from what her sister-in-law had said @Pompeii was free to go wherever he wanted. "The Crows probably got room for more mercenaries, no kings or sovereigns to command you" Fenna was no recruiter, but she could offer a home for her family and she figured Fissure probably wouldn't mind more members for his grope.

Then the Yu walked away, following Narsil, to collect her youngest nephews. She should probably ask the other woman what her plan was, and where she was going. Fenna knew her path but wondered what @Narsil had in mind.

The call had echoed once again through the mire, the memories of the last challenge were edged into his mind as faint blurry memories. The youngest blue Tollaire hadn't gone this time. His mother's fury with them was one of the clearer memories from last time. So he waited fidgeting with a stick near their den eyes gazing out into the swamp waiting for someone to come back.

When Mother's voice rolled through the foliage the blue boy shot to his legs looking around hoping to spot his littermate brother. It was odd though, Mother wanted them ready to go. Go where?

When @Narsil arrived she was followed by Aunt Fenna. Ban greeted them purring yet still confused as they were collected. He didn't know they were leaving the Mire until they were passed the border. Didn't quite understand they wouldn't be going back either.

lies, luther responds. the hate and vitriol he spews against alaric is like the poisoned bite of a viper - a son's word against father's. her faith lies entirely with alaric, the father she knows would have never denounced a son. at least, not without such significant circumstances. people - men - like luther and aeistrios were vermin that deserved only to have the light stamped out of their eyes. dual-toned amber eyes turn towards where the women of the bluffs have gathered, wondering how they will take to her brother's anger. harlots, he calls them. surely, in the next few seconds one of them would have his tongue - perhaps even luther's life - for such an offense.

in her hiding spot, magdalena is keen to watch such a fight, body pressing forward subtly to see through the thorny branches. her plush coat, weighed down now with drying patches of mud and swamp water, has done exceptionally well in hiding her scent. not one person has thought to look here for her. good.

in the next moment, she is turned into a prisoner with vague threats of being dragged back used as a proverbial wall to their escape now. magdalena fights the urge to scoff. the beloved of alaric stärke were many and with the feeble showing of support here at the challenge, it would be impossible for the lions of ecrosia to stop their prisoners from escaping. much less attempting to hunt each of them down. without much more fanfare, magdalena turns towards the mire to gather her supplies, fully intending to leave the territory while the lot of them were still busy puffing and preening here. Tschüss, mein bruder.

She is too small to see the shape of her mutter in the crowd. Not until she is hovering directly above her. Her ears drape backwards, placating as her mutter quickly says that they are to go back to the den. Laurel lets out a small "humph" in response. She had hardly had a chance to even see anything that was happening. Everything had happened far too fast for her to truly grasp all of the strangers and what was going on around her. She moves out from the log she'd hidden in, reluctantly following after @Solanum as they make their way back to the den. But Laurel wasn't quite sure it was any safer than here, not with someone new holding the crown.

His attention was torn away from his traitorous Vater if only momentarily, as a boyish voice, so slathered in the thick accent of his ancestry called out to declare allegiance. The pale King's eyes narrowed in on the young frame of a hefty-sized boy, already standing taller than his peers. @Grimm Rike introduced himself, and Luther's brow quirked in interest. He wished to stay in the Mire. Whoever's child he was, he still reeked of Ecrosia. Another one that had lived under his bruder's rule, and yet not turned on him so quickly. A house of cards you had here, little Bruno. He smirked. "Dann bleib, Junge. Diesmal haben Sie die richtige Seite gewählt." "Stay then, boy. You've picked the right side this time." Not that the kid had any choice where he was birthed. When men and women alike flocked to Luther of their own volition, some shedding their previous allegiance to his brother, the pale Rike's ego only soared higher. If that was possible, anyway.

Reina departed, assuring him of her future loyalty. Of aiding in any way. Gut. He nodded curtly at the Saxe yearling, watching her, along with her sibling, depart. Many others began to leave too, Xaphan one of them. Luther stood in a face-off with @Alaric, waiting for the man to leave.

Tensions were high enough that Livyatan wouldn’t be surprised if lightning began to start crackle and burst between each of the lions. Then Bruno got tossed and the challenged ended, confliction began to bubble in him until he heard Alaric reveal some critical information. Whatever else it was between father and son, he could not pass judgement on a situation that didn’t concern him.

Silently, he ignored his mothers words growling instead to Pompeii “Leave.” It was his chance to spread his wings, or did he wish to remain a swamp snake? @Fenna's words made the ebony lion turn his head slightly to acknowledge her words with a stone like gaze. And then he was moving into position. Livyatan stood at @Alaric 's left hip he felt his body tense while he stared at Luther with yellow eyes. There was no underlying emotion burning beneath them, no hidden meanings. Livyatan was doing his duty to his master, to his mentor.

The new King's acknowledgement was brief, but it was there, and it satisfied the boy in knowing his choice was heard. Unfortunately, Grimm was still too young to truly aid Luther in sweeping his lands of old traitors, and he simply could not remain and be helpful. So, he decided to return to what had been his old den and lay claim to it as his own. It was a family den, so it was spacious and roomy, just for him. /exit

Annoyance bubbled somewhere in the pit of his chest, and quickly it began to swirl into something more. Anger of being unable to do shit about this, any of this. Body tensed while he watched the end of the fight draw near. He heard his mother leave with Fenna and felt torn slightly if only briefly. She had other things to worry about and he was no longer a cub stuck at her side.

Livyatan’s command to leave was acknowledged with a brief scowl, but then he sneered. Given the command to go away was what he needed, and so the ivory lion turned to leave the Mire. He had things in more neutral part of the swamp anyway.

the fight ends and a new king is crowned.

pale eyes cut to the shattered form of bruno, watching the boy-king crumple beneath the larger opponent. there's a slight furrow to his brow as he watches the end come, but then it smooths out.

crowns came and went, and so did kingdoms. this was not the first king he'd seen felled.

around him the world seems to erupt in upset; it seemed the new king, luther, had very few friends. a few children ( who sported similar coloring to his own ) were the major allies, and... there was no real advantage there. still, lucian lingers just a moment longer before heading out.

the borders might be marked by a new king after today, but they'd still need to be patrolled. and, if the upset was anything to go by, it seems that there would be more chaos in the days to come.
