The odd land never ceased to amaze her. No crook or crag went untouched by the uncanny, the whimsical change of normality thrown wildly into radicals. But of all the stupefying grandeur of the ever-shifting face of the wretched continent, this one took the cake. Idhrael had seen the clumsy lumps of grey creatures hulking about in the stretch of the fields once: Elephants, their cantankerous attitudes and stomping feet and swinging ivories. She had not even bothered to pluck one of their babes, no brand of audacity she owned would dare a sprig of stupidity. A hyena had been pummeled to death for simply wandering too close and it had been enough to confirm the presumed lack of value in testing fate for a bite.

But here, now, there were enough to occupy its swinging head and boa-trunk. Unfortunately, its size was a beast of an intimidating factor in comparison to the others she had seen. And its peculiarly thick pelt would be an unappetizing mouthful to cleave into flesh – and the thing reeked, in honesty, but to delight in something different? To feast on something she did not have to worry about scarce shares?

Say less. She stalked behind the growing gathering and waited for the proper opening, scanning the creature for any sign of vulnerability.

There had been an eerie influx of elephants recently, but Sunder wasn't going to complain, not when that was plenty of meat to feed her family. When she had initially wandered towards the Pit, she'd had no assumption of what was to come, or the fact that a very large mammoth would appear. For a moment Sunder merely stood in awe of the creature, her blue gaze wandering towards all the other individuals that were present. As if she were asking, "Are we actually seeing this right now?". It was quite possibly the largest beast she'd ever seen, but the competitive streak in her wanted nothing more than to bring the titan down along the others that had gathered. Her muscles tensed as she prepared of what was to come, surely the beast would not fall easily.

Brother @Xander wasn't too far behind him as he strolled in and seemed to be — was he, mimicking? Well that was rude! But what was even more rude was the language, hey! watch the foul language in front of the ladies! Because that wasn't nice, right? Totally unthinking that the girls could decide for themselves on whether or not they wanted to hear terrible, awful-intentioned words but Cosmin was trying to make friends and not scare them off. But yes, we shall. Cosmin spoke quieter, rolling his heads half-playfully at his brother's silly arrival.

@Thella ♔ arrived, too, but thankfully she had a bit more manners than to mock him or scream obscenities. Very well, thank you. Giving a quiet and polite response as they waited for a few more lions to come show for this behemoth. You've been .. well, too? It was nice to say it back and Cosmin was still interested in making — and keeping — friends where he could.

A lot of lions were showing up to dominate this behemoth of a monster. A creature that he had most certainly never seen before but his age was conducive to the fact that there were a lot of animals he had never bore witness to before. This mammoth being one of them. The rush of the hunt once they got to it could not be match to any adrenaline that he had ever experienced before.

Every move he made had to be calculated correctly otherwise someone would be dragging a dead corpse home and he refused to be that loser today. Though, making his brother drag his dead brother home would be a nice punishment for his mockery but... he didn't wish to die so he'd have to go unpunished for now.

Instead, Cosmin leaned in to grab as big of a piece as he could to chew, chomp and swallow before licking his lips. Chuffing at his brother, to thella and to any of the other yearlings that he had attempted to talk to, before moseying away from the beast. Blood smeared the snow in many places but he was lucky enough to find nice spot to take a nap.

A place where snow had not built up too horribly and felt a bit warmer. Cozying himself down and stretching his body out and falling over, content to nap for a little while longer; refusing to acknowledge the responsibility that his father had bequeathed him before he had set out for the day. Today was a day for Cosmin Savante and he had no interest in patrolling the borders or delivering messages to the other prides. So he let his body relax and fell asleep, a gentle snore rumbling with every exhale. exit cosmin

taking down the mammoth is no easy task, but by some feat of sheer strength and willpower, the beast is felled. imogen pants relentlessly, tired and aching from having mauled the animal. as it takes its final breaths, she murmurs a quiet thank you in her native tongue. the rogue takes a few large, starving bites, keen to take her earned share. there is enough to go around and she carves out a tiny piece of flesh to see herself out.

Thella's smile continued at Cosmin's question as she thought fondly again of her home. "Yes, thank you. I enjoy every day I spend at the Hollow."

She turned to look around and it seemed as if everyone who was going to show up was there; no others were trickling in. It was interesting to see lions from all over work together on fulfilling a single goal, and now, they were ready to strike!

It was a success! She dug into the fallen mammoth with glee. As she received her fill, she licked her lips and looked up. She'd heard Cosmin's chuff, but he was long out of sight by now. She thanked the others still nearby and headed home.

unacquainted peers crawl from the woodwork, whispering sentiments of bewilderment as they descend upon the trickling pulpit to join him in his pursuit. @Elodie were the first of many to earn a lingering stare: mercurial edges softening in the wake of cherubic, otherworldly beauty. still, the tyke retains his silence in her presence, feigning keen focus upon their target until the approach of a chipper @Cosmin. lips peel back – unsheathing a quick, boyish grin – in wordless greeting before @Xander, too, arrives with a quip of his own. insecurity strikes a nerve as he notes the newcomer’s hulking stature, shooting a quick glance to the liger girl to gauge for favor. “sure. we’ll use you as bait. go on,” he gestures towards the mammoth with a playful smirk. and though his tones and expression were teasing, underlying sincerity would will the strawberry behemoth trampled.

much to sage’s secret dismay, however, none would pose as mammoth bait. and as the crowd maneuvers forth with murderous intent, so, too, does the tyke burst from his vantage point with the flash of elongated fang. perilous though the task, the masses evade each thrash of tusk with nimble precision – working together to ultimately fell the damned creature with a great thud!

he succumbs to the high of triumph with a victorious guffaw, traipsing to the mound of wool and sinew at the corpse’s haunch. seizing his rightful piece, the forgotten rike-olympe moves to depart from the fray: poised and invigorated by the massive stroke to his ego.

She was silent in her participation, nerves trembling unseen beneath her rich mahogany fur. She was exhilarated and terrified to hunt the mammoth, but there was some solace to be found in the numbers that had arrived in its wake. Rosemary tasted the breeze again, focusing on the colossal, hairy, elephant, attempting to filter past its earthy scent in hopes that something else might make itself apparent. An illness, perhaps, really anything that might tilt the scales in the hunter’s favor. Yet she breathed nothing but its leathery, earthy smell: it seemed to be in good health. Damn.

And still, they hunted. And somehow, they won.

Rosemary had even managed to scrape her claws across its flanks and down one of its legs during the scuffle and had only come away only sore and weary from her efforts. She had spent her nervous energy in the process as well and emerged satisfied and viciously eager to tear into its flesh. She was not polite when she grabbed a portion for herself, nor was she apologetic when she tore off a piece of its hide for tanning. It would make a good souvenir, as would the molar she yanked from its jaws. Covered in blood and dirt, she would carry her trophies away from the site, and eventually make it back to her cave. exit

She looks proudly towards @Sunder as the beast falls. Let this be testimony and evidence to their strength. Just chalk up one more point of admiration the daughter has in her Mom. The Titan collapsed to the earth and Pyrrha races in, this time trying to remove the parts of the fur and pelt around the skull so that she might have a piece that resembled the face of the beast as a souvenir. She fills up on fresh meat and gathers up extra to take on her way back to the Cove. There is undeniable satisfaction on her face, warm beaming pride.

The titan eventually comes to a careening halt in the snow and Sunder is left breathless. It was truly a remarkable event, one that would be burned into the recesses of her mind. Through the crowd of bodies Sunder is able to spy @Pyrrha ♔ and she moves quickly to join her daughter. "You were amazing out there, great job. Don't forget some souvenirs." Sunder too reaches down to break off a portion of the mammoth's tusk, something to keep in her den as a reminder of the great beast that was defeated. It had taken effort amongst all of them to do so, to see such teamwork was a sight to behold, really. No one ever helped each other nowadays, this was something Sunder had missed. She turns then, intent on heading back to her Cove alongside one of her eldest daughter's.
