She heard the call, and dread washed over her dark frame. This was something Reina couldn't hide from. As much as she wanted to. She needed to be there, to see who would live and who would die. She approached the watering hole. Her jaw was clenched, her muscles tense, and her dark gaze was narrowed.

Ever since she was little, Reina's true mother had been deemed dead. She wasn't sure if that was true or not, but Reah was never around. She didn't really understand it, all she knew was that Renfri had taken the title of mother because of it.

But now, Reina wasn't so sure anymore. This was simply too much. She was sure there was a way to work things out, without the absolute murder, blood, and gore. She found her siblings and she approached them. They were talking about magic or something, and finally, she let out a sigh. She called for their lead medic, @Iofiel.

She sat beside @Reistrios, pressing her side into his own if he allowed it. She couldn't help but feel her lip tremble a little. She wanted to cry, wail, scream. A lump was forming in her throat, and she looked over at her brother. "This is awful," she said under her breath.

If Isla is one thing, she is a woman of her word.

The echoing bellow of a call reached the Summit on the wind, causing for her muscles to stiffen and brows to knit together in subtle confusion. Was this another ring of death in the air - this time for him? And not by Morrigan. It clutched the Heiress' curiosity before she steeled herself, knowing exactly what she had to do. She makes her descent rather swiftly, knowing these mountains like the back of her paw and knowing how to navigate down with ease. At the base of the snowy mountain would she come to a halt, sniffing the air before setting out in the direction of the watering hole. She moves with a fluid jog, tail whipping behind her and ears pulled back upon her skull.

She doesn't stop her jogging, in fact increases it as she nears the scene. Dual colored eyes search the crowd as the rest of the world blurs around her, spotting a clutter of young she were more than certain were spawn of Aeistrios. Releasing a caterwaul, Isla attempts to barrel her way toward on of them that her eyes had locked like an enraged bull, uncaring if she bulldozed any others. She was attempting to send them flying, catch the one off guard so that she could make good on her promise. Age no longer mattered when she had her own duty to fulfill.

Time to collect.

The young Saxe girl was painfully unaware. Realistically, she should have kept hiding within her den at the Oasis. She would have been safe, unharmed, perhaps stressed and scared. But that would be better than what was happening now.

Her parents were harming each other, Saxe blood spilling upon the dirt. All Reina could do was watch helplessly. Her heart felt broken, she felt lost, confused, scared, and sad. She knew she had her siblings, but still. There was truly nothing that could be done. Nothing could fix this.

She heard thundering paws, and she had no time to react. Pain.

For the first time ever, a horrible pain hit Reina’s body. She couldn’t help but scream out and begin to cry. “HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!” she cried out. “REI, PLEASE HELP,” she begged her brother. Though she was sure that he could only do so much.

He was just a kid himself, after all.

The strong scent of the Summit was thick on this woman’s fur. Finally, Reina looked up, fully on her back and cowering away. All Reina could see were fiery eyes, one citrine, and one amethyst. Reina was going to remember those eyes forever. “Why are you doing this?! I did nothing to you! I don’t even know who you are!” she cried. Perhaps she was trying to bring some sense back to the woman, she didn’t know. She didn’t want this. She knew her father was chaotic, not the best man out there, but Reina had never helped him or anything like that.

She was completely innocent.

Reina wasn’t a fighter, she was scared and hurt, and there was no way she could fight off this massive crazed stranger. Quickly she attempted to fling herself back upon her paws and slip away.

She squinted at @Reti ♔ suspiciously, because of course he'd say that he wasn't there to hurt any of them. Who wouldn't say that so they'd lower their guard? But she didn't have the time or desire to argue with him about it so she let it go instead. 'cause dad took their pride way back when I guess and they don't like that he claims lionesses, I don't know, she replied. She didn't know why everyone hated them, actually, she just knew that they did. Fuck if I know what the rest of us did. They were just kids, but apparently they were paying for the sins of their parents. Parent? Who knew.

Someone was approaching, and try as she might to get between @Isla ♔ and Reina in time she just couldn't quite manage it. Maybe this had been coordinated, the older male distracting her while the Summit bitch came in and attacked her younger sibling.

Siofera was bowled over and aside like she weighed nothing, which to be fair she did weigh nothing in comparison to the woman who had come in on a warpath. Ow! Oh, oh no, fuck off! Fuck you! Stupid bitch, get away from my baby sister! Siofera screeched as she scrambled back to her paws. She'd promised she'd protect her younger siblings, and look how well that was working already.

Some part of her acknowledged that she was tired. Exhausted of the constant fights she found herself in, but she refused to allow her younger siblings to have to endure the same thing, especially one like Reina, who had shown no desire to fight thus far. How had this day gone so badly so fast?

Weimar heard another call. For death? To turn a lion into a prey meat or a hide rug? He didn't understand. He didn't like it, but mostly he didn't understand. And, since the weather wasn't terrible this time, and he was away from his den when he heard the call, he decided to just up and investigate without checking in with his parents first. He wasn't much familiar with the lands outside of home but fortunately someone from the Summit was ahead of him. So he followed in her footsteps. It would be embarrassing to get lost!

What made him quicken his footsteps was the shrillness of the screaming. In the storm, the adults had cried, and the storm had whipped the noises around, but there was nothing in this clear day to distort it. It was children, screaming like they were in pain. He raced toward the waterhole and ignored the odd shape of one giant adult fighting another, smaller adult; these ones were arguing, not screaming, and the smaller one was fighting back. But there was a child trying to escape from - from the one he had followed?

"What are you doing?" he snarled, his ears gluing back and his skull sinking low. But rather than narrow and violent, his eyes were large, gleaning with white at their edges. "Don't hurt them!" He didn't want her to hurt him. He was afraid of her fangs. They seemed as big as his whole face. But if he could just distract @Isla ♔ away enough for the cub to escape...

One by one they come - her siblings, the lot of them sticking together as they worked to figure out exactly what was happening. @Setri came with news that had Seifri's mind reeling - he called a battle for heir? While she was prisoner?! A shared looked to @Siofera confirmed both of them were upset at this. However, her unease grew with the knowledge of knowing Siofera was interested in the spot - would she have to beat her sister down too? Father must have known things were going to get worse then. Her jaw clenches with the words, pissed she hadn't been able to attend; and trying to give him some benefit of the doubt as he fought to the death, again.

@Reti ♔ takes her attention as he nears, black pelted and offering advice to them from what had happened at the last. Her first instinct is to hiss and swat him off, but Siofera settles those emotions as she addresses him first. Because we are Saxe. Seifrienriosa growls in response, not agitated at him, but more so the situation altogether. Ask any enemy - that would be their reply, because everyone had heard death sworn to anyone who even shared a drop of similar blood to Aeistrios.

And just like that, @Isla ♔ flies in and makes an instant swoop for @Reina , a younger sister of Seifri. Seifri leaps back as her form collides inwards, and a snarl is thrown from her sharpening features. The rest of you - huddle together! Watch each others backs! She commands to them, attempting to step up in a role of a guide and give a bit of direction as to what they should be doing, besides worried for the sake of their parents. Eyes swing to @Weimar who seems to shout as Isla to back down, and internally she is wickedly pleased to see even in the Summit, things were divided in morals. Knowing they have no one to their side, Seifri attempts to lock her gaze to Weimar, her eyes masking over with a silent plea as if terror was taking over her. We only want to watch! Please, help protect my younger siblings. She didn't want their tiny bodies getting wrecked by wars they didn't have a paw in, and it seemed more bullets would be flying at them sooner rather than later. One more body on their side was better than none.

She could hear them come, only vaguely aware of the crowd gathering behind them. It was only the cries of her children that broke through the haze, a painful emphasis to Aeistrios’ words. Would they forgive her? If not, if they could not see reason then she supposed it was better to have them alive and hating her than dead. No matter what, she couldn’t go back, couldn’t walk this back. As painful as it was to end him, it was the only option her family had left. As much as he seemed to think he could, he could not kill all of Amaryllis, and it was clear that his war path was only expanding indiscriminately. He was a beast of war, not meant to lead, but he was too delusional to see it. Her claws hooked on the sagging, shredded flesh, pulling more away from his face. She shuddered to think what he might look like, if given the chance to heal, the mess of scars that would become his visage. The sounds of agony leaving him where such a bittersweet song, and she only wished it were somebody else on the other end of her wrath, someone else's moans of pain and suffering. He bit down hard on her neck, mental images of the fight with Aquila, how savagely he had shaken her. Aeistrios could do the same, but instead his jaws sheared through the flesh, removing a massive chunk from her nape. She sucked in a breath, nearly choking on her agonized scream. Pulling back, she dropped her lower half lower to the ground, trying to shift her center of gravity in a way that would make it harder to topple her over. Her missing limb was a hindrance, but her small size would hopefully be enough to counteract the issue, especially considering her opponents weakened state. Hearing the sobs, cries, and pleas of his children sent chills down Aeistrios’ spine, and an overwhelming hatred for the woman before him. Overall, he wanted to assure his children things would be alright; but even Aeistrios wasn’t sure what was going to happen. He was too weak, too wounded, and everyone knew this. Renfri had bided her time well, she had learned too much from the Saxe; including how to take one down.

@Aneistri is vaguely heard among the ringing in his ears, and he sent a mournful chuff in her direction, hoping she sided with the idea of him living over Renfri. All he had left was his kids.

He’d managed to secure his hold and take away a piece of her flesh - but it was not enough to satisfy the burning fire within him. A harsh sting erupts along his face, and he feels her talons rake, tearing, taking - his eyelid was no longer connected, and she managed to puncture the opposite eye from the one Alaric once maimed. His face contorts in pain, and a singular paw rises in an effort to sink his claws into the back of her spine. Maybe he could paralyze her before she got too many more hits on him.

Claws sheared through the tender flesh of his face, severing his eyelid and puncturing the one eye that had not already been maimed previously. Even if he lived, he would never forget the marks she left, but she knew it would only spur him on. Would only make him worse. If she lost, everything would be so much worse than it was before. So she could not lose. A paw slammed down on her spine, forcing her jaws to paw in a silent scream as she felt the vertebrae bend, threatening to snap, to end her days of walking forever. It was not enough to break her spine, not yet, but she would need to make seeming a healer a priority if she survived this to ensure the damage didn’t worsen. She turned then, aiming to bite down on the soft, fleshy inner part of his offending limb, trying to tear and release as she began to shift back, hoping to get some distance to protect her spine.
