His maneuver had worked, and as he swung his head, he shouldered her hard enough to stagger her. She released his grip on him, and as Veros landed once more on his forelegs, he attempted to slash out at her one more time, but she had turned and left. He thought he felt his claws connect with something, but she had disappeared into the crowd around him before he could confirm, and the smell of blood was thick everywhere. He couldn't tell if it were hers or not. Looking down at his claws, they were already coated in mud now.

He groaned in frustration, choosing to retreat as well. Hanging his head, he slunk away from the battle and headed for the border, keen on getting away from everything here. /exit

with the woman and her children safely escaped into the thick jungles of the mire, karsa's "duty" is over. he lingers for a while longer as friends join in on both sides of violarum's fight. surely, after losing an eye, the oasis king would shortly be running out of steam so karsa doesn't feel the need to race across the battlefield to help his friend out too. he makes a mental note to stop by the plains sometime soon and check on the man, especially after everything that had happened. at the ugly gashes that aeistrios opens up on both of vio's shoulders, the boy winces. clearly, there had been enough energy to leave behind a particularly nasty wound before he gave up the fight. ouch. fighting the wince that wants karsa to draw back, the boy's gaze swivels over the others still present before slipping into the undergrowth himself to return towards obsidian. his father was likely going to be interested in what happened here today, so the boy wastes no time in getting back to inform alexander.

Hubert does not waste any time in making sure of that. He makes the most of the window of opportunity he's been granted, the thick, metallic taste of blood flooding his mouth as he viciously carved his fangs down the flesh of a sandy cheek, the soft skin of @Viggo's muzzle splitting apart all too easily beneath ivory daggers. A mark, yes - the impudent teenager shall wear the grisly evidence of Hubert's victory upon his visage for the rest of his days.

Or so the Prince imagines, when the red haze of his vision has cleared enough for him to properly behold the tattered image of his bloody handiwork. He smiles then, a wicked grin dripping freely with a scarlet vivid enough to match the sparkle of vicious delight dancing in his verdant eyes when he finally wrenches himself with a forceful shove, aching muscles made to roll him safely back to his feet.

"It's time for you to run along home, boy." He hisses commandingly between ragged puffs of breath as he heaved himself up. "It's long past your bedtime." Or must the colossal beast be sent back from whence he came with another parting 'gift' from the Mire's royals?

Only once the immediate threat has passed on in one way or another will the ebony Starke cast his gaze away to consider the dying flames of chaos upon the battlefield. He is reminded of the tales his Vater had once spun for him, stories of a great war waged upon this very soil when Hubert himself had been little more than a speck in a harlot's belly.

He wonders if that blood-soaked day had looked anything like this one.

But where was the ringleader of this little circus? Don't tell him that the oh-so-shiny Luther had turned tail and ran from the jaws of Bruno, of all beasts? Such a turn of events may work in Hubert's favor, indeed, but that doesn't make it any less deserving of the laughter that roils with forced silence within his chest, nor the harsh scoff that's allowed to fall from his lips.

The crown remains where it has come to rest, the damp earth laps at the crimson trails that still flow across it - and Hubert, it seems, has done his part.

And so, the shadows are quick to welcome the ebony observer back into their familiar embrace.

Violence and bloodshed broke out around her but even so the albino remained hidden beneath dense forestry and shrubs. She kept her legs curled up tight against her, her ruby gaze focused intently on the main battle. Initially she thought the white male might have the upperhand, but eventually the curly-haired King would reign victorious. Almost immediately afterward even more violence broke out on the sidelines and Capucine took that as her sign to leave. The last thing she wanted to do was be discovered, or wose, end up in the crosshairs when she didn't have anything to do with any of this. Slowly she'd rise from her hiding place to make her way out of the Mire as quickly as her legs would carry her. Ignoring the way the muck clung to her skin, as if trying to keep her here longer then she wanted to be.

Thankfully with her darker fur it didn't take much effort to stay hidden within the swamp of the Mire. Her golden gaze did not relent from watching the main fight, mostly because she was intrigued as the two men went at it with one another. She didn't know either of them, but she was sure that Alexander would know who they were. Perhaps that was why she was here in the first place, to figure out who these people were and bring that information back to her husband. It became abundantly clear however that the curly-haired King would keep his crown for another day. Violence broke out around her and though she had the natural instinct to sink her claws in another she knew that would be for another day. She rose quietly, making her way back through the swampland to return to her underground home of the hollows, newly acquired information in tow.

His teeth only graze the prince's dark arm—instead, a claw splits the skin on his cheek, and the pain warrants a roar from the yearling, still sprawled out in the mud, but defiant. It's not the resplendent victory he so yearns for, and as the prince viciously wrenches away, Viggo feels no more glorious than a child being rapped over the knuckles.

The fuzzy haze of battle clears up and his senses seem to return to him as he props himself back up on an elbow, his ivory pelt coated almost completely in sludge. @Hubert looks around the battlefield and then his laughter peals across the swamp, seemingly amused by Luther's absence. Viggo's lip curls and then he climbs unsteadily to his feet, caked in mud and blood.

"Fucking lunatic." He murmurs under his breath as he begins to exit the scene, hopefully never to return again.

Luther better hope they don't cross paths again.

When Fenna argued she could walk he would release her, but kept a close eye on her. Finally he sent a judging glance to Aurochs, he couldn't get a measure of the other mans strength in that fight. And he felt robbed of that chance. "Come. it is time for us to go" he grumbled towards @Fenna, unaware he had just took his brothers aunt hostage. Would it have changed the outcome? yes. He would have guided her out.... Family came first. Ah the joys of lack of information.  The grumbling dragon urged her forward with a nip to her tail tuft. The battles were dwindling, it was time to go
