Children soon started bickering with another mammoth-sized beast. It was unimportant, but Mithril expected that the crowd would be distracted enough that he could wander about. Rising to his paws, he made his way closer to the aloe he’d been inspecting in the distance. It certainly resembled aloe, only its flowers were yellow — unlike the aloe at the shore, which had reddish-orange flowers. Interesting. Then, once he had closed in, his claws made quick work of the flesh that oozed a clear, jelly-like extract. He carved it free from the ground and picked it up in his teeth, head turning to give the challenge a look.

He was disappointed to see the male dominate his rival into submission, yet it was hardly unexpected. From where Mithril had sat, the male had seemed more the more imposing of the pair. Briefly, he gazed through those who had gathered, pitying any who would have to live in the orge’s shadow.

The young male had come to watch the battle, and now that it was over, he had no reason to linger. Taking his gathered herbs with him, Mithril headed back into the desert, leaving the still busy scene behind.

Ciara

Ciara remained quietly hidden into the sparse yet useful vegatation, watching with gossip-hungry eyes things settle in the fight between the two giant lions. None were of her preference, neutral she kept herself in terms of who she wanted to have the win for this pride. A terrain she personaly wouldnt want to have as her home, born in an humid and mossy land, a dry and hot one like this wouldnt make her feel comfortable at all. She watched until the challenge was over and somehow she managed to remain hidden and even within the pride. She had previosuly washed her scent so maybe that was the reason. Or maybe they were too focused on the fight to notice. Whatever the reason could be she got what she wanted and just as she came she left in complete silence. Covering her tracks as she left. exit

Amara watched @Valère & @Roussel with mild amusement as @Kireena seemed to be hauling them closer. She couldn't fault the little ones for doing their best, it showed that they were willing to fight for what they needed. Concern rose in Amara as she didn't see all the cubs and didn't see either of their parents. She gave a small huff and nodded to Kireena. Come you two. Let's go to the Bluffs. Hopefully, your parents will be there soon.* She really hoped so because she didn't really want even more cubs to watch on her own. She pulled them into the pride's fold once again before turning and heading home.

Failure, he had failed to punish this trespasser for her words. But at least @Kireena was bleeding, hurt... It was some small consolation to the angry child. Unfortunately, as the woman sits Valére is unexpectedly shaken forward. His jaws hurt as teeth let go of flesh and the added weight to his already strained claws has him letting go tumbling downrad into the sand.

He snarls twisting around in an attempt to get back up but the sand doesn't really help him. Perhaps for the first time since the fight started, Val is afraid. Something inside him knows that he is vulnerable now, on the ground unable to properly defend himself. His legs finally get under him and his paws find footing as he draws back still a snarling hissing child. His pink eyes narrowed and angry as he glared at the woman.

"I hope you get eaten by stupid sand fleas!" he snarls bristling. Though with his mouth moving the sharp pain from inside bolts through his face. He'd bitten himself when he fell, his own blood mixing with the womans. Though it's a whole new emotion that rushes over him at the familiar French words of the bluff high queen.

@Amara had seen them lose, she'd seen them fail to get revenge on this trespasser. A sense of shame ran through him as his ears pressed back against his skull. "Elle souhaitait du mal à notre famille" She wished harm on our family The boy spoke his tone an almost hissing-like sound. Amara needed to know right? That this trespasser had dared wish harm upon their family, even if Valére only knew half the story.

The boy would step after the dark queen as she moved away, her order to return to the bluffs would be obeyed. It was the home of the Dieudonné, and it was the wish of their queen and mother of the matriarch. There was no other way than to follow, he was after all a Dieudonné and eventually a loyal soldier, a loyal dog...

Oh well, fights began and ended, too soon for even her own fleeting attention. But such was how it went, always. The song of blood had to come to an end and even the most beautiful symphony would fade eventually.

And still, she sought more. She always did. Had she always hungered so for blood or was this a new part of her, awoken by those changes? The odd patterned male she'd approached seemed more attentive to their surroundings, and so, the speckled Herald moved on, prancing along the border until she'd decided on what she was to do next.

And just like that, the shadow left as if she'd never been there, no paw prints lingering as her odd tail cleared them up with every little wiggle and swish.

The cubs ceased their attacks on her mother eventually, though clearly reluctantly. But the bronze girl didn't give much thought to it all.

What mattered was that the biggest fight was over. And now she wanted nothing more than to leave. Even if it had been home for only a short time, she did still think about those days. Days where she was still healing, learning. How much had changed since then.

She shuffled a little on her paws, but then gave @Kireena a gentle nudge with her nose. "I'll see you later," she said quietly to her before turning around and trotting off, away from the sands. To a place where she could think.

She knew that more fights typically broke out at large gatherings like at pride challenges, and she was not proven wrong today. Green eyes shift between the pride challenge and a couple other sideline fights, brows knitting together and her lips pulling into a small frown. She never understand the reasoning behind all of this fighting, and maybe it was because she herself never really felt like she needed to pick fights. She was a healer, not a fighter, and it was clear by her mostly untouched skin (thanks to that bastard who attacked her at the pit one day).

Soon, though, the pride challenge is over and it seemed as those the plum lion had won. She examined what wounds she could see on him from where she stood, and soon she would make her leave, noting that there was no other reason for her to stick around. Jiera moves back to where she was collecting the baobab and gum acacia, but not before she grabbed her bundle that laid beside her. She goes back to work, carving off some bark before feeling satisfied with her collection for the day. She'd grab her bundle once more to begin her way back to her den, a rather long trek before her.

She could feel the anger trying to boil over and win, to make her lash out and say words she may not mean. But how @Léonie reacted only helped calm it down a hair; Oriana wasn't satisfied with that apology. "Did you even try to look for us?" Her glare stays on her aunt, unyielding and full of fire. Had any of their relatives tried to look for them? Or did they all assume? Well, you know what they say if you assume something...

Commotion catches her attention and alerts Oriana that the pride challenge had come to an end. The plum man had won it over, and with a sigh and a shrug the Miroslav would begin to turn on her heels. "I live in Caladan now, if you care." She throws over her shoulder at Léonie, not bothering to give her aunt a farewell before she took off across the familiar desert sand, picking up her pace until she was at a steady jog. She wanted to continue her exercise as well as get as far away from the Oasis as she could.

Saladin isn't the most attentive, having gone completely unaware that another had joined in on their little group. He was much more interested to see which lions @Daneri would choose, letting out a 'hmm' or a soft chuckle at her answers. He wasn't really sure who he'd fuck or marry, but he'd definitely kill the little dude because he seemed like an easy target. "I'm Saladin," he responds to them all in general, dual toned eyes looking over the three, giving @Sæunn a grin before looking at @Asbjørn. "I'll look out for you guys, too." It was fun to have something to occupy your mind and time when a pride challenge was going on. Speaking of... Saladin's attention went back just in time to see who the winner was, watching the plum man with a curious expression. He knew when he needed to take his leave, though, and swiftly he'd head off. The Oasis was no longer his home and he needed to accept that. So, instead, Saladin placed all his emotions into working out, a steady jog overtaking his body as he jogged across the ever shifting sands and back toward the heart of Amaryllis.

Vincenzo stays seated while he continues to watch the challenge. Keen eyes take in the injuries being dealt and received, watching how they all varied from shallow to deep. The blood flowed freely, causing for pupils to dilate slightly at the sight, nostrils flaring as he sniffed the air. But with a quick shake of his head would he rid the thoughts that riddled his brain, and instead focused on the challenge that was now coming to an end. The plum lion was the victor, and once other lions began to leave the Savante, too, would do the same. Rising to all fours, he gives his shoulders a quick roll before turning to head out from the pride's territory and make to neutral grounds.
