He didn't usually care about coming to these things, but he noticed @Florentina had and so he would go along just to make sure she was all right. Which he kind of felt like she owed him for considering it was pouring down rain and that was no doubt going to fuck up his mane. But he'd never forgive himself if something happened to her at the challenge because no one else had been around, and so he plopped his butt down beside her like an oversized guard dog.

There was the fight between the two lionesses over the pride, but there were also a couple of maims going on that he was rather interested in as well. Seemed like pride fights always devolved into those. At least they didn't involve the Savante this time, for a nice change of pace.

He didn't have a clue @Karsa was there, well hidden as the boy was, but he did notice @Razvan was there, mostly because his pale fur stuck out in the darkness and there was someone approaching him.

A low growl of warning left him, perhaps mostly swallowed by the chaos around them. How about you come talk to your new friend over here Razvan, he called over the crowd. That way at least the boy would be next to him should anything go wrong, and either way the woman knew there was someone there keeping an eye on the both of them.

She's content to continue with her blessing, shuffling dirt around from within the bush to create her own little sigils in her family's language on the ground... at least until @Kraven sneaks up on her with a quite BOO right in her ears. He may not have been her child but the scowl and soft grumble that escapes her is almost that of a mother scolding a child. She lets the sour mood fade away though as he settles in beside her, asking if he had scared her and about who they were rooting for. " You did, while I was in the middle of prayer... I would not suggest doing that again." It's spoken lightly, but there is no denying the slightly serious threat in her voice as her gaze turns to him momentarily, eyeing his own coverup attempts. She speaks to him only, soft enough that only he may hear. " See that brown girl who fights with the blue woman? Her family has owned this land for years. Before I met your cousin and joined your family, I was born here and lived under their family... I was here when she was born, just a little cub. " She pauses then, to motion loosely in the direct of Cassandra and Renfri. " Today, we root for their family to take back the land. " A low rumble of pride settles in her chest, peridot gaze settling warmly on the once-child who fought against the Brook's current leadership.

She doesn't really care to go — a soft grumble leaving her as @Léontine nudges her awake — but she understands the logistics behind it. A pride challenge means the potential for shifting politics, and it would be good to know who the competition is in the lands. With a stretch and a yawn, she reluctantly follows her sister out into the storm, thick fur enough to keep the cold from penetrating her weary bones. A huff of breath — spilled blood would warm her up.

She watches as her sister bathes herself in mud to remove her scent and the French cannibal follows suit, best practice before heading into unknown territory. She's no expert at it and assumes she didn't cover herself as well as her kin but it would hopefully be enough.

Violence reigns supreme as they draw near and it takes every ounce of strength in her to not throw herself into the frenzy. There were no allies here — just enemies — and for now, it would make sense to simply hide and watch the outcomes.

Elaine left the sandy lands that she was living in and headed toward lands she didn't know. Had she been to the brook before? She didn't think so and she couldn't remember what it looked like. She knew that her mother had a strange standing with the land and the original family that had lived here. They had been here when Amara arrived with the others from the old lands. Some of the natives had been accepting and helpful while others had not been. Her mother had helped them a few times, been at the end of their claws at other times but still as the sounds of battle reached her ears, she knew that she would be on the side of those who called the lands home first.

Elaine could only guess that those who had called this place home before her mother arrived felt a stronger tie to the land than she felt to the Bluffs. She came to the battle and her icy gaze looked around for those she might know and her gaze settled on @Isla ♔. The lioness she had come across seemed ready to fight, even though the words that they had shared seemed like she had been prepared to hang things up to avoid having more enemies. Elaine watched Isla for a long moment, studying her before her gaze went to the fights. There was a lot of passion in the fighting and she knew that it would be a good show. The cloudy lioness didn't see anyone who might be a target or make her one but she stayed ready, always willing to fight as needed.

Flushed eyes couldn't stop their movements. So many fights had begun since her arrival. Even her sister @Eisa presence immediately went to the engagement of claws and teeth with @Aeistrious. The sight of it made her muscles throb. A strange urge to spring forth. To engage and help. However, she knew that many here would frown upon her and instead decided to search the crowds.

Many scents wafted through the air. Some whom tried to hide could not. Others succeeded without hesitation and left nothing but a remembrance of their arrival. All of this being a last minute detail in her silent observation as attention shot back to the injured sounds of @Cassandra. Eyes widening at the actions of @Renfri going for the same leg.

MO.... Ratha shut her mouth with a large snap. To call out her mother's name would be nothing but a distraction. An advantage for her opponent that she refused to give her. Instead, she found herself moving along the opened space to further take in what was going on. So many on their side verses the Saxe's.

If she needed to, she would fight.

He had known that this was coming. Knew what it would mean. For the him. For his mother. For their family. But especially for Morrigan. Yet Asbjørn moved with little fear. He had seen first hand just how blessed his grandmother was. And not only her but his whole family. Cassandra had told him some of the ways that Maua looked after them. Surely the Deity would not allow Aeistrios, of all lions, to win. No, Asbjørn was sure the male would lose. He felt it deep in his gut. In his soul.

The fight was already on when he finally arrived. He comes to stand beside @Isla ♔ and @Yavanna. His gaze looks over his sister @Ratha protectively before his attention is swept up by Aeistrios once again violating one of his sisters. A broad snarl rips across the large yearlings maw, his teeth angrily gnashing together as his chest thunders.

Her target moved, and her teeth gripped down on Renfri’s shoulder rather than her neck like the Valour-Greyflood had intended to grab. Regardless, she attempted to bite down harder, trying to tear muscles in the lioness’s shoulder. They would all pay for everything they had done to her family and the land that Maua had blessed. While the Valours had ruled over it for generations, it was still Maua’s land, and she would do everything in her power to help it remain Maua’s land. These bastards had done enough damage to the land.

As her paw slammed into Renfri’s side, she felt her breath catch as she seemed to have knocked the wind out of the smaller lioness. A vicious pleasure coursed through her, knowing she was doing damage to the other lioness that would hopefully leave her unable to function after their fight. With Renfri going for her leg, Cassandra growled as she felt teeth dig into her leg. Renewed efforts had her attempting to lift the same front paw that had just slammed into Renfri’s side, and attempt to slam it down with even more force, and attempt to dig her claws in as deep as she was able to if she succeeded in slamming it on the abyss lioness’s side.

Had it not been for his soaked mane of snow and smoke, Mithril like would have blended perfectly into the surroundings darkness. He made no effort to hide though as he approached the border, led there by the familiar sound of madness. The outcast arrived quietly, ears cupped on his head to catch whatever fleeting pieces of conversation he could. There’d been a truce mentioned, and that it had been broken by the lioness who carried the scent of the Summit on her. Mithril paused, unaware of everything that had transpired between his relatives and their enemies, but it certainly sounded deathly serious.

Slowly, he continued along the boundaries, his focus passing from battle to battle: the main challenge between the lionesses, of course; the exceptionally hostile exchange between a maroon lioness and her giant opponent; and the squabbling of a yellow-eyed mahogany beast and a woman with a coat of abyss, over what seemed to be a child. He turned his ears around at his final observation, unable to understand the purpose of taking a cub from its pride.

His tail sweeping slowly behind him, the shadow stood there in silence, nothing more than a quiet outsider, watching his family’s suffering from a distance.

Descending from the Bluffs to go watch a random pride challenge wasn't exactly her idea of a great time, but to be fair she didn't have anything better to do, and at least it was night so she didn't have to worry about getting spotted. At least not as easily.

By the time she got there, the main fight was already well underway and actually seemed to be winding down, but there were several other fights for her to watch as well, including some where the combatants really seemed inclined to tear a chunk out of each other. She smiled slightly as she tucked herself under some foliage that she deemed to be a safe distance from the fight so that she hopefully wouldn't be seen or sniffed out since she'd technically crossed the border to get a good view, and to stay away from the largest parts of the gathering on the neutral side of the border.

She'd followed the shadowy woman through the night (somehow), though she'd lost track of her since she'd grown close to the Brook. That was fine, she could find her own way from here. Of course, her own way was also slipping over the border and peering out from behind a fallen tree some ways away where she could hear what was going on and just barely see. She was sure the other woman would be able to bring back word of what had happened if she couldn't figure it out from her position. She just wanted to be in a good spot where she wasn't supposed to be. It was all about the thrill of not getting caught.

It did seem that the main fight was winding down, and Arcania briefly glanced at the other fights before she looked away to make sure no one was looking for anyone who might have taken advantage of the chaos to come snooping like she was. Though, to be fair, she wasn't snooping as much as she could have been.
