Quitting is not an option

Fenna watched as @Darling decided to play with the small critter, mismatched eyes lingering on the girl for a moment before they were drawn to @Jafar as he spoke. The gentry apologized for his words but Fenna just shrugged, wasn't like she was angry about the misunderstanding, she just wasn't Darling's mother. His kingdom sounded promising, strength and diligence, not to mention they'd be free to go as they pleased. Perhaps she was even slightly disappointed in the fact there would be no easy fights to pick. Then again if they valued strength there should be plenty of opportunities to hone ones fighting abilities.

The jungle king spoke next and again strength was mentioned. The lioness had to wonder if this land was prone to battle. Not necessarily a bad thing, war and battle were where the Yu belonged. As @Ryker spoke to or about? Darling Fenna just watched wondering what the girl would want. She was still a child but not quite a cub anymore. A strange in-between stage between cub and yearling. Too big to be babied but too small to be alone. She would make an impressive Yu in time. Fenna would have to talk with her niece about what she wanted. The older Yu could only teach fighting and hunting to the girl. The rainforest king spoke in what she assumed was truth, something the lioness valued greatly. He would prefer them to stay with him if they found her brother. It made sense, letting warriors go to another pride was an issue. Secrets and weaknesses were too easy to exploit if the opponent literally had a traitor whispering in their ear. The rainforest king ended his speech by asking about whom they were searching for.

Though the Cove lion took over before she answered. @Keligan spoke of the code, as a place that valued each other, allies, and abilities. Sounded like a whole lot of talking and no fighting to her. Though at least their king Gauthier, she assumed, would not keep them against their will. The blue man also asked about whom they were searching for and offered to help find them or shelter them til he was found. A promising offer if not for the stench of salt and sea on his fur.

"My brother, Dagge Yu. He is a large brawny lion with a muddy brown coat and a wheat mane, a grey half mask, and a patch of wheat over his ass" Her brother's appearance was quite common for a Yu, an appearance their homeland considered ugly and unattractive. Their family was commonly dressed in mud, sand, and stone. Nothing fancy and colorful or impressive. Her niece was an odd one to them, her pale pink markings more so desired by the aristocratic families back home.

Playing with the lizard she really paid no kind to the adult’s chattering about. She trusted her aunt and her decisions. If they were to join one of the pride’s of the lions present she wouldn’t put up a fuss. Or if they knew her father and brought them to him she would be just as happy. Jumping on the lizard she pinned it down under her paws and munched on it. Looking around with just its tail sticking out of her mouth she bounced back over to her aunt and looked up at the lioness with a smile. Darling was indeed an odd ball in the family in fact had she been born in the Yu homeland she probably would’ve been whisked away by a lower noble family at birth.

This was not something that the Cove Gentry had been expecting when he asked the question to @Fenna. Slight look of surprise phased over his features before quickly smiling a true smile. Dagge! He is a good friend of mine. He currently resides in the Lagoon, which is not a far walk. They are a neighboring pride to the Cove. So this was his family that Dagge had talked to Keligan about. Looking at @Darling, he saw the pinks on her pelt and then understood why the Lagoon Gentry thought what he did. If you would like to reunite with him, I can show you the way and take you to him. I pass it on my way back to the Cove anyway. It was the truth, the quickest way back to the Cove from the Passage would be to be closer to the Lagoon than the north ends of the Shores. They would just have to continue East instead of heading North in the sands. But of course, it was their decision on where they wanted to go make their new home.

Unfortunately, Jafar had no news on the whereabouts of her missing relative. He wished he did if only to give @Fenna peace of mind and not for any selfish reasons. He was a family man through and through, and would not once think to separate family if it was not something they wanted. @Keligan seemed to know exactly who the lioness was speaking of and was able to briefly cast his gaze to @Darling as she gazed happily with the lizard's tail wiggling out of its mouth. Jafar smiled, amused at the girl's happiness before returning to gaze back to the two adults.

While he might wish to see the two rogues in the Summit, he expected that they might take the opportunity to meet up with their family member first and then officially choose a place to rest. The Cove seemed the better option if it meant getting closer to Dagge Yu, as they said, so he simply waited for the final call.

She offered a name and description, and neither matched anyone Ryker remembered encountering. Which didn't seem to matter much as @Keligan was quick to offer a name and location for the lion in question. As he had no further information to offer at the moment, he would simply wait for @Fenna's decision and find some relief in the idea of her potentially going to, if not an ally, at least a neutral party. Too many of his connections held a wariness of the summit, and so he found himself stuck treating them much the same. While Ryker himself had no real opinion on the mountain pride, he was very much aware that his status as allied with their possible enemies put him in a somewhat awkward position.

He may have to make a trip out to Scilla soon, to see where, exactly, they stood with the rainforest.

Her niece came back bouncing with a tail sticking out of her mouth. An amused smile on her lips as she watched the girl. Though her attention was soon shifted to @Keligan. He knew her brother, and he knew where he was and would take them. Of course, the smile that came with the knowledge they found Dagge was just as quickly replaced by an annoyed frown... Lagoon... Dagge was in the lagoon. Her brother was in an ocean pride of all places... None of the other men spoke, remaining silent. Fenna almost wanted to refuse Keligans offer, simply due to the fact of where her brother was. But the Yu had also made a promise to her niece, to bring her back to her father.

Fenna looked at the girl for a moment debating if she should offer her the choice. Go see your dad at the stinky ocean or choose somewhere nice and warm far away from stinky seawater. "This one knows where your dad is," she said looking at @Darling before moving her gaze to Keligan. With the words, her mind was made up and their destination was chosen. "Show the way" she told Keligan, accepting his offer of leading them to her brother.

Truly, Jafar Casales held no surprise in the fact @Fenna had chosen the Lagoon for her and her niece. @Darling was still playing with the lizard that had stumbled across their path but it would be good for them to go see and be with family. Travel safe and good luck, meant with every good intention that they should find their family member and reunite with him. The father of the dear child and he was actually thankful that someone present knew of him and was able to lead them there. With a quick bow of his head to those gathered, he went about the rest of his business among the passage. With Keligan of Caladan leading them away, it meant one less recruiter was out here after all. exit jafar

Finishing her snack she looked at her aunt and the other adults around her. Wide eyed and full of energy she was excited about seeing her papa again. "Oh papa? I gonna bite him!" She said cheerfully making a chomping motion as she did so. As @Fenna said something about leaving she nodded and looked once more at the lions that had greeted them. "Bye bye misters." She would call out as they departed. She might be a crazy child, and a child of a dumbbell but she was still polite. Attention turned to her aunt as she followed behind trying to grab the lioness’s tail as she followed along.

The rogue lioness would take his offer on bringing her and the young one to her brother at the Lagoon. Jafar made no effort to try and keep her, which caused the Cove lion to internally be thankful for it. As the young girl, @Darling, talked about biting her father, he had to chuckle. Yes, he could definitely tell that she was Dagge’s child from that remark. Turning to @Fenna, he nodded slowly. It’s not a far walk. And I’m sure he would be okay if you wanted to live there with him or go somewhere else. He’s told me a bit about his life before coming here and I’m positive that he will be glad to see you both again. Then heading out of the Passage, he guided the two lionesses to the Lagoon.
