Death loomed at every corner of that place. Why then, could Sedona smell the fresh warmth of prey, lively and evasive? The sun bore down upon her bronze pelt with a harsh glare as she padded slowly through that boneyard with silent steps. The lioness would ignore the circling vultures looming overhead and the eerie chill of the autumn winds in favor of locating a meal hard-earned. After all, there was no better time to lean into her work than when her mind was otherwise rolling with tumult.

Up ahead – she could have sworn she saw something. Sedona ducked into a crouch with her muscles tensed as she stalked around a particularly large set of bones contrasting against her own tiny frame. Whatever it was, it was about to be made subject to a game of chase.

The Boneyard wasn't her prime choice of places to explore, and yet, she found herself wandering through the territory, when she noted a female she'd seen at a hunt in the badlands. She approached, her footsteps quiet, as she neared. "Hunting?" She would ask with a flash of a friendly smile to @Sedona. "I'm in." She'd add, crouching down, to join her- silver eyes scanning the area before them, looking for whatever the other female had an eye or nose on, to join in the hunt. Her tail held close to her, body, every muscle quivering... Eisa would wait.

5yrs, no bonus

The boneyard is a haunted place, but Aspen is brave despite her superstitions. All dead things deserved respite, and as she moves through she had a goal in mind. Locate an idea spot to perform a rite, so that this cursed place could be at peace. The souls would need to be guided, and many cleansing prayers would be needed to ease the discomfort she felt, striding amongst the many great bones of beasts. It is here she comes across a pair of lionesses, both younger than herself. Hunting was the suggestion, and Swiftwillow approached. Aye, she could do with something to take her mind off the grim scenery - and no rituals could be performed now anyway. She did not have the herbs.

“If it is a hunt, I will assist.” she says calmly, nodding a respectful greeting to the two.

it's like blood to a vampire

He's been here before, hunted in these very lands. He runs along the dunes, exercising for strength. Passing by a boulder, Harou stops to sharpen his talons on them. It's an ominous setting, full of dead dreams and forgotten religion. He likes the dark atmosphere, how it's filled with hunger and dread. Harou will resume his scouting mission after he participates in this hunt. He's not hungry, here, but he's willing to assist them, and there is always a little play involved in the bloodletting. It can all but imagine the blood splattering against his lips, and the bones being crushed beneath his talons. It's sport to him, hunting things down. It's fun and exciting, and he's always down to hunt and enjoys his time doing so.

He's sprinting across the boneyard, every muscle in his body working overtime as he covers the distance. He pays no heed to the stray bones in his wake as he goes, sending them flying underneath his paws.

His ragged heartbeat steady in his ear, he slows to a walk when he sees a group of lions, one of them crouched. He doesn't scruple to sharpen his claws on a nearby skull, rather enjoying the sensation of keratin against bone, making sure they're all primed for the hunt.

He then crouches, observing the terrain ahead keenly for a sign of movement.

"Seems like everything here has already been picked over." The male noted of the area. His words were directed to no one in particular but just put out there for those of the living persuasion that he spotted out amongst the world of bones.

Still it seemed that the females were on the trail of something though. Occam took a whiff of the air and then settled in to follow along. He traced over the same pathways that those before him had already gone. They clearly were tracking something and he certainly wouldn't mind a piece of it.

The badlands are devoid of life, any and all carcasses picked completely clean by those who came before, nothing but skulls and bones left behind to bleach under the torrid sun. He passes them at a steady lope, his muscles aching from the long, arduous trek, made all the more arduous by the heat, which is beating down on him mercilessly. He can feel his energy flagging, overworked muscles crying out for reprieve, and that's when the scent of prey comes to him. Through the heat haze, dark, wavering silhouettes in the distance resolve themselves into lions. Starved and eager, he presses on toward them, scarlet eyes keen and alert for any sign of their quarry.

"Ugh," Spark remarks to Aspen, following behind her at a close pace as not to be left alone with these...bones.
He enjoys being a hunter, the stalking, the chase, the catch! It's all very fun and rewarding, but that doesn't mean he likes the idea of his prey's bones just sitting around. Staring at him with hollow eye-sockets and cracked ribs. He shudders, but tries not to let the distress show on his face. He's a hunter! A strong, capable lion! He won't be freaked out by some long-dead guys. Or, at least, he won't make it too obvious. Taking a stance next to his matriarch, Spark waits for the hunt to begin.

It was far hotter in the boneyard than Lunaire had predicted, a steady pant from her jaws a constant rhythm with her breathing as she trailed after some prints in the dust. She had gotten distracted, a few times, ooing and awing at the variety of pale, sun bleached bones that could serve as vessels for beautiful art, a large elephant skull catching her attention the most. She couldn't move it elsewhere, but she could still make a beautiful mosaic here.

Crimson gaze would move back to her target, following whatever had caught her attention, noting the appearance of others as she got closer. It seemed others would join in the bloodshed.

Helah is hiding and not participating in the hunt.

Helah crept through the boneyard, moving silently as she sought out certain poisons that she knew grew here. She had paused beside a bush of nightsthade, and was carefully harvesting it, letting the potent scent of herbs cover her own pride scent- to conceal her from others.

Then she heard it, the sounds of others, the sounds of lions shifting and moving, and she scented prey in the air.

Helah moved, aiming to remain concealed in the shadow of bones, in the bush that would allow her to spy on the hunt- to watch it, without participating- so perhaps she could enjoy the spoils of their labor without having to do any actual work to bring down the prey.
