With the loss of her home once more, the strawberry lass was robbed of her herbs and trinkets yet again. There was no going back into the Rainforest after the landslide, even once the earth had settled. No sooner had she sought to return home did vultures snatch up the vacated lands. Such was always the case, always the risk. Knowing nothing of the new ruler left the Hodari unwilling to even attempt to seek passage if only to retrieve her possessions. No, it was time to start over from scratch, again.
Wanting to get as far away from Firnen as possible, the maned woman found herself in Amethyst grove. It made for a nice replacement home, for the time being. A forested are wasn't terribly different from the lush Rainforest, just a different type of foliage abound. The trees were always green here, and thus she could almost always find a good bunch of herbs to collect. It was good a place as any to start stocking up once more as she meandered through the forest. Sure enough, autumn had not tainted the evergreens, leaving their branches still flush with greenery. Very few needles yet littered the ground, leaving the common pathways still visible. Maybe in the winter, they might drop more of their foliage, but for now, the trees were still tightly bonded with the leaves.
That didn't mean there was nothing of use, however, as Avana continued to follow the path forward. What was nice about being in a bit of a shaded place was that lighter herbs stood out better against the darker terrain. A cluster of white weed caught her eye, instantly drawing the medic closer. It was a simple little weed, but with good general uses. Wound care was always a priority before needing more specialized. Knowing she had much to stock up on, though, the maned woman only grabbed a few small bundles of the plant, taking the whole weed by the stalk. She had neglected to get a wide leaf from the jungle before setting out in search of herbs, so she had nothing to carry the specimens in besides her own mouth for now. Maybe she could still find something else around here to bundle her finds in.
While keeping her eyes out for anything else useful, the strawberry lioness spotted another feline as she rounded a particularly thick part of the path she was on. Around the bend of tress and bushes sat an earthy colored woman with a bunch of dried herbs at her feet. Another medic perhaps? What was with the otter skin? A medic wouldn't mind exchanging knowledge with another healer, right? Avana moved just a few steps closer, forgetting the herbs in her mouth. "Erlo deer," she muffled around the mouthful of white weed in her jaws before realizing her mistake. Placing the bundles at her feet, the woman sheepishly smiled to herself. "Sorry. Hello there is what I was trying to say," the Hodari chuckled lightly. "Are you a healer, too?" Her maned head tilted just slightly with the question as a friendly expression remained upon her face.

Before her question could be answered, or any formal greeting could be ushered, @Tulie was quick to question where Avana had found white weed. Slightly taken aback by the immediate query, the strawberry woman's ears flicked back a moment before the stranger swiftly remedied the situation. The Hodari didn't dwell a second more on the initial interrogation, easily resuming her friendly posture and expressions. "No worries," the maned woman shook her head lightly, quickly brushing off whatever startled expression she might have previously exhibited. "But, yeah, I found this white weed just a ways back on the trail. It was growing near the base of a tree. Still a few bunches there if you want any. I can only carry so much and wanted to be able to collect more than just the white weed," she explained. No sooner had she touched upon her difficulties in carrying more herbs with her did the Hodari notice the strangers pelts that seemed to act as carrying devices. "Do you use those pelts as a means to carry your herbs?" While Avana was well experienced with herbs by now, she had never been quite crafty enough to come up with a better solution to transporting her collections aside from wrapping them in a broad leaf.

Avana was more than happy to share the location of herbs with a fellow medic. "Of course," she chirped with a nod of her head to the thanks. The maned woman then listened with interest as @Tullie explained her pouches. She was impressed to hear that it was just a simple source of collecting herbs, but a sort of sign of passage in the trade itself. "That's brilliant. I'll have to figure out how to make something like that." Avana commented, just out of idle musings. She wouldn't ask the stranger for a pouch or instructions on how to make them if it was something important to her clan.
As the stranger then plucked another heb nearby, the Hodari examined it carefully. "Nibima right?" A paw raised to her chin, tapping it with a toe in thought as the strawberry lass thought over the question. "Hm, yeah, I think I've seen it in the jungles, too. Seems to like those tropical places." Avana moved to grab a small bundle for herself, figuring it was good to keep on hand.
When @Tulie was kind enough to mention the use of marine animals for the pouches, Avana nodded with appreciation. "Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." Now she just had to get her paws on some sort of marine creature. After looking at the stranger's pouches, she'd keep otters in mind, figuring them to be easier to find than true marine creatures like seals or other animals that were entirely ocean bound. Otters were probably easier to find along the short, and much easier to hunt.
The strawberry woman couldn't help but chuckle lightly to herself. With Tulie asking about Nibima, it was easy to assume that the fellow healer must know about the plant already. Apparently not, though, but the Hodari was more than happy to share a bit of knowledge. "No problem," she grinned kindly before the plant's uses were questioned next. The strawberry woman took a moment to think it over, analyzing the flowers and roots before recalling its uses. "It's, um, anti-inflammatory, if I remember correctly. Good for fevers and respiratory infections. You can use pretty much the whole plant besides the flower itself." Avana was proactive in mentioning what parts of the plant would be useful, curious if that might have been the next question anyway. "I"m Avana, by the way." It only then dawned on her that neither had introduced themselves. The healers had simply dove straight into discussing the plants around them.
"Not really. Not as far as I know, at least. The roots are probably the most useful, though, but you can also use the leaves and stems," she explained while prepping her own little piece of the plant. She preferred plant roots over anything else anyway as they seemed to keep for longer than leaves, stems, or flower petals. Roots were hardy and versatile, able to simply be eaten, ground down, or soaked in water to form a sort of tea (as best a lion can manage anyway). The only bad thing about roots, though, was that many looked the same once their stems and flowers were removed. Best not to get them mixed up.
"Nice to meet you, too, Tulie of Mamutoi," the maned woman smiled sweetly. It always interested her how others introduced themselves. Sometimes just a single name, sometimes with a surname, but then there were lions like @Tulie, who seemed to tag along a place of origin or clan association with their own introduction. The variety of cultures in the world were simply astronomical.
