The ocean around his new home was just another example of one was the pros and cons wrapped up into one. Having been taking in the area he had noticed a little island offshore and decided to go check it out. Swimming in the sea he swam around against the currents to exercise and work on building strength. After a bit of time he salt started to become irritating so he finally got up onto the beach of the cay. Panting a bit he rested while catching his breath before he went about looking at the different plant life that could be found there. Poking at some of the pigeon pea and noticing the cape aloe that grew here. As he walked around he noticed that on the wind there was something else. Something to possibly eat. So he got low and prowled forward. His swim having made him hungry.

Ruger was a rather nosy feline. He hadn't found anything to keep him entertained too long since he had arrived in Amaryllis, and he would always find himself either sharpening his hunting skills or finding out just how much he could learn about each territory - and those who lived there, when possible. So while he was padding through the shore to inspect the black sands and rock formations that littered the area, the distinct sound of splashing would catch his attention. Crimson eyes would shift and look out into the ocean, seeing another lion swimming. Looking a little further out the spotted male would notice the island, and with a rise of a brow he decided he, too, would make his way to it.

Slipping into the cool water, Ruger would hide a silent snarl. He wasn't one that favored getting wet, but it did some with some positives: getting a good wash as well as being able to conceal his scent by simply washing it off. Legs would paddle underneath him as he cut through the water, maw keeping itself raised so that no salty water bothered his face. Once paws felt ground he'd make his way onto the island, giving himself a good shake before sniffing the air. He, too, could smell what the other had scented, and with a silent look of greeting, Ruger would slip into a crouch as ears pricked forward, alert and waiting.

She is laying atop the warm onyx sand, eyes closed as she listened to the soothing sounds of the waves. Tail would thump the ground every now and again, purring softly every time the sun's rays washed over her earthen body. She was quite relaxed here, laying in the sunny warmth - almost to the point of dozing off. The sounds of splashing would cause for a folded ear to twitch; was that real or did she dream it? A red eyes would flutter open, blinking a few times to adjust to the light, before spotting a couple of lions swimming through the saltwater. "Odd," Artemisia would mutter to herself, but as she glanced around some more she would see the island they seemed to be swimming toward.

Lifting herself up to all fours rather lazily, the woman would give herself a good shake before passing quickly toward the edge of the shore, front paws dipping into the cool water before pushing herself fully into it. A huff came from flared nostrils as Artemisia paddled her way across, relieved to feel the ground beneath paws soon enough. Water dripped from thick fur as she made her way toward the two others, lips curling into a soft grin before she caught the scent of the prey that seemed to have led them out here. "Odd place to hunt, eh?" Tones would be soft yet humorous, red gaze flicking between the two. If they were able to gather a couple more bodies, the woman wondered if she could keep in the back and make a dramatic act on appearing that she was doing hard work.

Celestia didn’t mind a short swim, especially when she felt curiosity itch at her form. She had never been to the cay before, but today she truly wanted to explore it and study it. Her form waded through the salty waters, her limbs kicking and cutting through the water. She was reminded that lions weren’t made for swimming.

The swim was at least a good workout though, and she couldn’t help but study all the tropical flora as she crawled back upon the sand of the cay. She shook out her pelt a bit, now smelling like sea water rather than that of the Oasis. Nobody would truly know her true affiliation today unless she told them.

She found a few other lions had already found the cay as well, and the scent of fresh prey made her mouth water. Ah yes, perhaps a hunt was due. One woman made a comment about how it was an odd place to hunt, and Celestia couldn’t help but chuckle to herself a bit. It was a bit odd but, it added a little fun to it all too.

The little pink feline was not shy to a hunting challenge and had been keeping herself pretty busy these days. She was either joining hunts or organizing hunts a lot lately. This time, she had decided to go to the other side of the island for a hunt near the Shore again. Following some paw prints in the sand, she saw that they were heading into the water. This would be a good time to practice covering her scent with the salt water. Raizel took a full plunge into the bay and swam her way to the Cay where the others were ending up. Water dripped from her small form as she stepped out of the water after her short swim. Pink gaze glanced over to the lion who seemed to be the one leading the hunt. Lowering herself to the ground, she purposely rolled in the sand to cover her scent some more. Then she crawled her way to position, waiting for the signal.

The plum yearling had been on the prey's path for near to twenty minutes. Roaming the cay's shore adamantly as she bobbed and weaved through sand and light patches of grass. The breeze from the ocean a pleasant feeling on her backside as she studied its prints in the sand carefully before continuing forward. It's smell was obvious and forced her mouth to water just an inkling more. Hungry, apparently, though it was hard to truly digest whether or not she was hungry for something to do or for the actual food itself. Once she arrived her eyes immediately tracked to @Dagge who seemed to have been the honcho that had led all the other lions here. Carina attempted to meet his gaze before settling in and waiting for the moment to strike.

While hunting was not necessarily her thing, she did fancy the idea of playing around a little bit. In the very least she could look at folk's and entertain herself by getting to know them from afar. Casting her gaze on each individual that she could readily see, stretching her front legs in front of her and limbering up for what she assumed would be a relatively mild chase. A quick yawn and a blink of her eyes as she stretched those unused muscles before crouching down, prepared to assist in whatever these lions were going to chase and kill.

Between running along the beach and swimming in the ocean, Hero had come up with a pretty good routine out here along the cay. He could feel the exertion in his limbs as the young man pushed his limits between the exercises. Only when he noticed a group of lions starting to congregate a ways off along the beach did he put his training on hold to see what was up. Another hunt perhaps? With no Firnen to go back to at the moment, the Hodari was more than willing to take part in these pop-up hunts some more if only to be able to bring some food back to his family. Little did he know just yet that most were going to the Summit. He'd probably find his way there eventually.

An inkling in the back of his mind already had the masked man wondering if he might see her again at the hunt. Sure enough, before the group was even that far in view, Hero could already make out the plum form of @Carina. He still couldn't explain why his gaze often sought her out, but something about her just drew his attention. Before getting too close to the hunting party, though, the budding cleric would seek the protection of the spirits once more. "Spirits of the hunt, please bless this endeavor and keep its participants safe. Guide our teeth and claws to provide a fruitful hunt," the Hodari whispered to himself before moving closer.

He did his best to remain casual as he neared the hunting party. The space beside Carina seemed vacant enough that it wouldn't seem weird if he came up next to her. At least, he hoped it wasn't weird. "Hey," he offered with a boyish grin and slight bob of his head. They'd met eyes at one of the hunts, and she even smiled at him at another. Maybe this was the time to actually speak to her, though he wondered how much more he could manage to say if the hunt didn't get started soon. Either way, he was prepared for the hunt whenever it was ready.

Digging might seem like a stupid idea, but the dog was good at it. His massive paws sliced through the dark sands in his own little corner of the beach. Just digging a hole, deeper and deeper into the earth. Sand flew up in every which direction behind him as the brute felt the burn in his front limbs. Today was not "leg day," for sure, but his "arms" would certainly gain some bulk from the strength exercise.

Nostrils flared from the grains of sand that managed to find their way inside, but it didn't slow him down. But then, the scent of others seemed to be growing stronger nearby. Always a big curious as to what drew in the crowds, the hound set aside his hole for the time being in order to investigate. Around the corner of some scraggly boulders, he emerged to the sight of a growing group of lions. Always a selfish man if it meant some "free" food, the mutt slipped in among the crowd and prepared for a hunt, ignoring the fact that he was covered in sand already.
