Carina was exceptionally hard-wired into staring at their target without faltering. Glued to its large form that seemed to taunt her and warn her away; without a single word uttered she could simply feel its strength emanating from its humongous body. So when the lion @Hero approached her the world's most casual hey did her attention turn and become distracted from said fear. Only to be replaced by a different kind. Hey, she repeats looking at him as though she were expecting something more before realizing who it was. Ahh, it is you. Privet. A smile, once more, knowing the smile that they had shared between each other and their locked eye contact from before. She remembers him.

There was not much more time to talk for the hunt seemed to begin and she wasted as little time as possible trying to help. Bounding forward with more agility than brawn to corner the giant creature until they all forced it to fall. Wild trumpeting from its trunk until it was no more. Once it was down, she carried herself back to her newfound friend, Hero. Very good, she compliments on his succession in helping to bring down such a behemoth. I am Carina Zvezda, vont you join me for a meal? It wasn't the best date on the block but in the very least it would provide her with a decent snack, decent company and she would have someone at her side should anyone decide to bark at her for enjoying her success.

Though, the second she tore into it she realized that its skin was a little tougher than she might have wanted. So instead she waited to see how long he wanted to stay before offering that they find something a bit smaller to eat. That way they could walk and talk, rather than be surrounded by a bunch of strangers. So Carina lowered her head and began to try and locate something a bit more their speed for two stomachs rather than one. Eventually finding some smaller tracks that were leading out of the shore and towards the fields. The scent, she believed, might have been that of an aardvark or a meerkat. Something small but the longer she looked at the tracks while she walked, the more she believed it had to be the former; meerkat's had very tiny feet and these were not so tiny. exit carina w/ hero

Several more decided to join them, Artemisia giving them all a good look as they appeared. It was a good sized amount hunting party, but with what had led them all here today took her by slight surprise. Would they be able to take down this elephant? Well they were certainly about to figure that out right now. Artemisia would blink hard to rid any of the sleepiness that stuck around from her sunbathing and nap before she began to take action. She'd move with precision and swiftly but certainly would exert quite a bit less of energy; all these hunts she had participated in had been making her exhausted. She had helped take down an elephant in a recent hunt and she take those skills that she had done in that hunt again for this one.

It'd take some hard work and teamwork, but in the end the lions would once again be the victors here. The woman would move in, ripping into the belly of the elephant and filling up her own, crimson eyes watching that Brook lioness. 'Let's see you take this back to your pride.' After filling up she would grab some for her to take with her, slipping away and back toward a mound of rocks to go and relax.

The little pink lioness was a determined huntress as she was clearly on the opposite side of the island. More arrived on the Cay after she did, none that she recognized off hand. Pink gaze glanced around until the target was sighted and every hunter moved into position. It was tough to take down, being a full grown elephant and all, but with everyone working together, the gray beast was taken down. Well, most of everyone. Others tore into the tough skin of the elephant before taking their piece of the prize away with them. Raizel had a much tougher task. She had to bring this back home with her and it was a trek to the Brook so she decided to take in her fill of the meat as a snack. Then carefully selecting to opt for the trunk, she carved it away and dragged it along the ground to swim back to the main part of the island and go back home. It would make for a fun play thing for the cubs at least.

Several more would arrive, Ruger looking at each one in turn. It seemed like a decently sized hunting party, and while the seconds ticked on by he would once more take in his surroundings. The island was unique, the low tide giving it more space and making it look bigger. His attention would be abruptly brought back to the hunt at hand when he heard the loud trumpeting of an elephant come their way. 'Shit,' he'd think to himself as he got into position, ready to spring into action; such an odd place for an elephant to travel.

Ruger would take another moment to find something to help conceal his scent even more, this time falling to the sandy floor and rolling around a couple of times. Once he got back onto all fours and they all seemed to be ready they would launch themselves at the giant mammal, having to work hard in taking it down. But they would be victorious, and as it fell and shook the ground beneath them, the spotted lion would let out a satisfied huff of air. There was plenty to go around, and knowing he didn't have to fight to get a part of the prize, he would simply relax and begin to chow down.

With little to do, she kept her distance from the majority of those that had hunted. Waiting until at least a few of them were done eating whatever share they wanted before she slunk back in to the elephant's proximity. Moving to the area of its chest as she began to tug and rip at the tough leathery skin before being thrown back a few feet with a small slip of paper-like meat. With a quick look around she darted away, not wishing to battle anyone for this stupid piece of meat she had chosen to grab and hoping that no one was looking to do that or worse -- seeking help to carry the elephant somewhere. The tropical plant life of the cay had caught the woman’s attention, and she couldn’t help but continue to stare and study it. However, the appearance of a few new strangers brought her attention away and she remembered that there was still prey around. She watched and waited for the signal, noticing the large form of an elephant within the tropical foliage. She took in a deep breath, and once the signal was given, the woman shot forth and attacked with sharp claws and ivory fangs. It took some effort but the beast ended up dead on the ground. She ripped a piece for herself and decided it was best to eat her meal now. Once done, she slipped back into the waters, her scent of the Oasis was already gone, but now she smelt strongly of the sea salt. She would have some explaining to do once she got home.

The elephants seemed to be all over the place in Amaryllis, which was good seeing as how many others had also gathered to hunt here today. He hadn’t even done an announcement had he stumbled upon a hunting party planned by another? In any case the hunt was a success and in the end the beast fell. Not really wanting to fight the sea in taking food back though it he chose to eat there. Dinning on his share before moving away from the group again to look at the plants that grew on the cay. The pigeon pea and cape aloe that grew here seemed to grow in big bunches. He would have to bring some back to the lagoon sometime. Noticing others leaving he decided to leave the area as well. Going back into the ocean to swim against the currents and work on strengthening his muscles again. While also cleaning off the blood from his meal.

Much to his own delight, @Carina had not discouraged his greeting and even seemed to remember him from before. Hero's small smile could only brighten, but their conversation was severely limited as the hunt got started. The moment the Hodari saw their target would be an elephant, he knew his simple blessing from before wouldn't be enough. It was one thing to take down such a difficult animal alongside one's pridemates, but these lions were practically strangers. How well could they all work together? Fingers crossed, they'd make it out relatively unscathed. Still, it couldn't hurt to put a little divine padding on their side. Once he had a little distance from any other hunter, the Hodari spoke quietly to himself. "Hear me, spirits. Help us bring down this creature without loss. Without injury. Nourish our bodies with its own so that it may go on living forever." Where the words came from, he didn't know, but it felt right for some reason, enough to spur the young man on as he launched upon the elephant.

In the end, the lions managed to bring down the great beast without trouble. He found his way back to Carina, who again seemed willing to keep his company. The beauty even went on to introduce herself before inviting him to dine alongside her. "Hero Hodari," the masked lion offered in return with a nod of his head. "And sure!" He sounded a little too excited with his answer, quickly trying to dial it back as they took their portion of the elephant meat and moved away from the crowd.

Though Hero wasn't opposed to the tough skin, having eaten worse while he was a rogue, it didn't take him long to notice that his company did not seem as thrilled by their catch. Food was food, but if his new 'friend' had something else in mind, far be it from him to turn down another opportunity to hunt. With just two of them, though, the boy knew he'd have to put in a bit more work than usual, likely needing to help chase down anything she might track. It would just be a swapping of exercises at this point, though. Not returning to his swimming and running routine, the act of running down her target would suffice to finish off Hero's training, feeling the stretch in his legs as he ran full speed ahead towards the prey. Whatever it was, they'd dine together on this one.

An elephant. What the heck was an elephant doing near the beach? There was little time to spend on questions as the hunt go underway. The arduous task of wearing down the beast took its toll, but eventually the feline's would win out. The dog was beginning to question why had spent so much time hunting with strangers, but then with a full belly, those questions were often silenced quickly. At least such a large and difficult creature meant plenty of food to go around. The hound took his fill before moving back on down the cat. He returned to his hole, now washed several times over by the waves. He guessed the hunt had gone longer than he thought it had. Maybe the dampened sand would give him a better workout as his bloodied paws set to work digging once more.
