The Hot Springs was a new place for the pink Ranger to try and hunt at and she was hopeful for something good to come along. Several arrived to assist in the hunt and she was thankful. Keeping an eye out on a potential target, there was one not too far off from the group. It was a giraffe calf that had wandered off, bleating for its mother and herd. Perfect. Signaling the other hunts to move into position, she then gave the signal to move forward. The attack was quick and the animal fell to its demise. It would feed everyone in the group and still have plenty left over to take something back with them. Taking in her fill, she carved out a decent chunk and took it back home to the Brook with her.

the giraffe calf is just a mini version of the creatures she’s killed before — here, it’s almost laughably easy. how strange to think she is here, hunting all these new creatures to the point that they have become commonplace. she has half a mind to take a small piece of the skin for later, to stockpile for gauze, but the litle wolf does not bother. she also does not bother to eat any of the meal offered — let the others enjoy. she remains alert, attentive, her gaze settled heavily upon her sister even if she does not approach. even if they’ve seen her already, she seeks to melt back into the shadows — stealthily taking her exit. dutifully following after her sister, of course, leaving ample distance between her and ulva so that the other maiden doesn’t realize she’s being followed.

There are many of them, and so when it is a single giraffe calf that appears as they begin the hunt it is no real difficulty to take down the beast. There are too many lions and it is too easy to overpower the young creature. She flies across the snow, racing ahead of it and cutting off any escape, running as if she had never been injured, though there is an ache there that she has to ignore to keep up the speed.

She is aware of Fao, though uncertain what to do with her sister. Things are not quite right with them and it worries her, but matters of the heart are not her strong suit. She is a warrior, better with tooth and claw than emotions. Draven, too, she is too aware of, and she doesn't slink away until she is certain that the other strangers are safe. Only then does she fly away from the scene, unaware of her sister following in her wake.

Hexa couldn’t help but continue to study the new and mysterious territory before her. It seemed that a few other lions would join in, and she kept her stealthy position. Finally it seemed that someone had noticed a line giraffe calf not too far off. Hexa couldn’t help but lick her lips in hunger, and finally the hunt had started. It did not take very long for the lions to pile onto the poor calf and end its life. Hexa made sure to take a particularly juicy piece of meat. She ran off with it, not wanting to stay around for too long.

Such an odd place for a poor giraffe calf to be wondering about. Artemisia wondered how it had gotten so far away from its mother; was she dead? Did she abandon it? The lioness was almost feeling sorry for the creature - almost. Hunger and animal instinct is what pushes those emotions to the back, and as the rest started to move so would she. With the amount of lions that were present, they all would make quick work with bringing the calf down. After all was said and done the hunt would come to an end and Artemisia would happily take her piece of the prize. Being able to relax in a warm pool of water while filling her belly did sound like the perfect way to end a perfect hunt.

Bowen did not prefer to take down a creature so young, preferring instead to give the species space to continue to thrive and grow. But when in Rome... Many paws make light work, and the group took down the calf successfully. For all of his apprehension at the beginning of the hunt, once he sunk his teeth into the young, tender meat of the giraffe, his previous concerns were quickly forgotten. Who'd have thought that giraffe calf would taste so good? He'd eat his fill, grateful that there was plenty to go around, and then skulk off... maybe to go take a bath.

Oh, dear. It was a baby! Clodovea fretfully scanned the area for any signs of its mother while she nibbled away on her lower lip. When it became apparent that the poor thing was either abandoned or terribly lost, and that those around her had begun to make their move toward it, the young teen also made her move—mentally—to make sense of what was about to happen. Well, perhaps it was merciful in a way to make this quick for the lone baby, rather than allow it to wander until it died of hunger or thirst? It was enough to propel her legs into motion, chasing and herding the dear half-heartedly until it was taken down. But it was at that moment that she made her exit, finding that she didn't much have an appetite anymore.

The long-necked creature would make its way through the fog, Ruger's eyes following it with a hungry gaze. Although he felt a little bit sorry that they were going after such a young life instead of, say, it's mother, he knew that such was the way of life and survival of the fittest didn't let up. So as they moved in he would help keep the giraffe calf close toward the party, jaws snapping at it whenever it tried to find an escape route. Soon enough, their prey would be taken down and Ruger would take a moment before digging in. Ears twist forward as he listened, and after a couple of minutes he would decide to dig into its neck, filling up before he slunk away to clean himself of the blood and take a nap.

The girl does not respond; he snarls in displeasure. There is a sudden desire to show her why it is not smart to spite a Bjorn, but then their prey arrives.

If anything he is all the more interested to see that it is a youngling. The flesh will be tender and new, and Draven forgets all about the lioness. Instead he focuses on the gangly creature, trusting they would have no trouble bringing it down. "Look what you have given us, Bjorn. Give them the speed to ensure we can feast; we need you, now." Closing his eyes briefly before launching in to action.

Draven works hard to ensure their victory. Moving fast on his paws for his size, trapping the crying babe so that the kill can be easily made. When they are done he is breathing heavily, lips stained with blood, but grinning wide. He will quickly wrench away his prize before ensuring the strangers leave, and then disappearing back towards home.
