In the time they'd known each other, he didn't think he'd been an ass to her, directly, so her comment earned a light scoff, "Hey, I haven't been an asshole to you." Yet. Had he? Okay, so, maybe omitting some details hadn't been the best thing, and yeah, sure, he'd fully been trying to use her at the start, but she didn't know any of that. Well. Now she knew he'd omitted some things, but she really hadn't asked very specific questions through it all.

If he really thought about it, he might find it a little funny how he kept entwining himself with 'girl power' families when his own had placed so little emphasis on gender in any haphazard hierarchy. He still had a little trouble wrapping his head around those who idolized weak women, but at least the Dieudonné also seemed to highly value strength. Still, a brow lifted, skeptical, "You sure about that or is that just what they've raised you to believe?" She was, after all, still relatively young.

"And anyway, it's hard to give detailed information on an enemy," his tone turned a shade mocking at the last word, "who's barely actually done anything to you. Pretty easy to paint a vague picture of some big bad monster who'll come and steal you away from your loving family and safe bed. Or whatever." They may have blown things out of proportion in their own heads, and may have done it purely by accident - which he could kind of get over - or they could have purposely exaggerated for their own reasons. He didn't honestly care to try and get further into their heads since it seemed he already lived there.

A paw would lift to wrap around her shoulders; he'd never once pushed her any further than she'd been willing to go, but it seemed nearly every time she started showing him such attention things went as far as they could. But, then, he'd also never denied her, and if this was the way she found comfort, well, who was he to complain, eh?

She continued to try and explain things, but the more she said, the more her eyes showed understanding.

'Skeptical' might have been the best way to describe his expression as she spoke of females being weaker. Personally, Ryker had seen plenty of evidence to the opposite. He scoffed, "Honestly every woman I've fought here so far has kicked my ass." Which was actually true, so far. Not that there'd been many, but the few he'd gone up against had come out on top. "Ability to protect yourself and others isn't dependent on gender."

And it took him a second to realize she'd said something weird, because he was distracted by the previous weird thing. "Burials?" Lightly confused, because there'd been no real context. Was it their way of dealing with their dead? He knew a lot of lions buried their dead when it was possible.

He'd try to lay his chin at the top of her head "Sounds less like they want you safe and more like they just want you close." Some families were like that. Blood ruled, and it didn't matter if every single member was horrible to each other.

The girl gave a soft noise, a hmm as she put thought into his words, her tail flicked idly next to her, and as she opened her mouth to speak, she flashed her fangs, pink tongue darting from her jaws to run across the ivory canines. Even medics could fight, at least here. Maybe it was different elsewhere? He wouldn't waste the energy puzzling over how they might do things in different lands, or debating whether or not it was possible for one to both cause and heal harm.

She explained their burial tradition and...well, honestly it took a second for it to actually register. Because it was such a strange thing to hear. First, there was a slow blink, and then he pulled back just far enough to give her a skeptical, puzzled, bemused look, "How the hell is that supposed to heal anyone?" Confusion, plain and simple. It sounded ridiculous to bury anyone alive for any amount of time if it wasn't for...he didn't know, punishment or something. But cubs? Newborns? He couldn't quite figure out how that made sense.

Another blink, and then his head cocked as if something occurred to him. Something that might be important to know if they kept carrying on like they'd been, "You're not gonna make me bury you, are you?"

She watched him, for a moment he was blank as if computing what she said, and then he blinked slowly, and she furrowed her brow, not understanding just why he was so astonished, then he pulls back and she pours, about to open her mouth when she sees his confusion, then his expression changes again and he asks her his question. And at first she's a little offended, but then she realizes, she's no longer Savante, and no longer apart of those practices.

He blinks again, and asks her if she wanted him to bury her, the lioness laughs, unable to keep from giggling, and she forgets about her problems. Levana gives a shake of her head before lifting with her back legs and wraps her front paws around his neck, and tries to lean back, aiming to bring him down on top of her. Ooookaay. As far as weird family traditions went, he'd put that one right near the top of the list. But, well, it wasn't really her family anymore, was it? In a sense. They'd never scour the family blood out of her, but he did have to wonder, privately, just how well she'd fit in up until now anyway. Maybe being cut off from them would be better for her in the long run.

"I'm not a healer, but that sounds like the opposite of helpful." Amusement colored his voice, but not to mock her. He was simply having trouble wrapping his head around the whole concept being presented as something good.

But then she was rearing up and pulling at him and he couldn't help the laugh as he let himself be dragged forward over her. This...this was interesting. Vaguely familiar positioning, but her going backward...he found himself staring down at her chest. "I think I can handle that." Voice gone to a low purr he leaned down, "Stay just like that." Something new, interesting. He'd trail tongue and teeth from chest to throat - where jaws would part to press fangs lightly to either side, just a tease as he shifted to find the right angle that would work with her on her back.

The girl was thankful he did not ask more about it, she did not feel like explaining the entire traditions from the family, nor would she have, she didn't know what exactly would happen in the future, but she would never betray her family, even if they cursed her.

He makes one more comment and she gives a small laugh, she had grown up with the practice and it never struck her as odd, not until now atleast. Her eyes look up at him, bright and full of life.

He allows himself to be pulled by her, his laughter fill her ears and she cannot help but to close her eyes and bare her throat to him when she laughs, for a moment she's able to pull herself together, that is until his voice deepens, a low purr accompanies his words. He gives a command and she purrs in response, his teeth trail from her collarbone to her throat, her forest green eyes watching him, when she feels jaws wrap around her throat, she gasps softly and closes her eyes, letting him take control.
