Red eyes watch the grand falls bathe the cliffside in cascades of cerulean. There is beauty to this place, to this secret sanctuary. Harou scouts the terrian up ahead of him, lingering close beneath the shadows as he avoids the warmth of sunlight from trailing against his flesh. The moss feels moist and wet underfoot. Every step feels holy, laced in reverence and awe. He is not hear to witness the scenic view, however, he is here to watch the blood pour out so that it may mingle with the waters. Hunger drives the great titan forward, hunger and a thirst to explore and unravel the secrets of the earth.

this time, she does not meant to follow @Harou ♔.

she still does, of course. their paths cross just outside the base of the peaks, and she finds her paws drawn towards him. pulled into his orbit, tugging forever on that red-thread between them. today is not about destiny or fate, or the waking nightmare she finds herself in. instead it is about realism, the need to put something in her stomach. and harou is, if anything, a good hunter. she does not make a big show of joining him, instead allowing him to move faster through the terrain.

his paws tread upon moss without a single thought but she pauses, taking a long moment to study it. it would be good to remember for later, to fill her medical satchel. when she looks up she sees he’s gone ahead already, moving closer to the falls themselves. a soft chuff leaves her throat, a reverb swallowed up by the waterfall. careful, it says. even if the action gives her pause, makes her blink. wouldn’t it be easier if he did slip on the stones and fall in…? delicate features shift, pretty brows furrowing up, as she lingers a few paces back. perhaps a hunt would do her some good, an excuse to get out of her head.

On silent paws he follows.

There is the ruffle of feather to announce his presence as he trailed dutifully after his brother (ignoring the resentment that brewed in his heart).

Here he feels him even more. He feels and he calls as he follows.

“lend us again, Bjorn,” he murmured, casting aside his anger and his jealousy, throwing them to the ground. “let us succeed for you.” always for Him, always for them.

So where, then, does one end and another begin? Where is HE?

A quiet exhale as he settles near his brother, turning a blind eye to the scenery.

Beautiful. This place is beautiful. His ears prick forward, catching the snarling cascades of water and cerulean rivulets that'd descend.  Every note felt holy, as reverence floods the empty spaces of his heart, filling his chest with warmth.  Amaroq lingers close, finding his place amongst the other hunters.  Some are familiar, while others remain a stranger yet.  He does not say anything - a quiet man that he is - but acknowledges the weather, his features dipped in shadows and his lips twisting with silent eagerness.  It is bright and clear, the winds steady, a perfect time to hunt in his experience.

She plucks up another herb from the ground. Turning it in her grasp she studies the shape of its leaves, the smell of it in the air. It is not one she knows and so quietly she places it aside, out within a nook of a rock where it can dry and not be made wet by the autumnal showers.

She is about to look back at another when she hears the familiar call. This time she does not think but goes. No longer is she surprised when she sees the familiar trio she has hunted with before. Yet this time there is another too. @Draven is as frost hewn as @Harou ♔. Their bodies similar, their markings too. Eve wonders if they are brothers. Lightly her gaze flits between the two and then at the wraith of a woman who is, she realises, always to be found near Harou.

okay, this part of the peaks was new.

the rumble of the waterfall called to him, drawing his attention.

here, the stones seemed less treacherous. the incline wasn’t as great, nor was the path covered with snow and ice. but it was slick, which made keeping your footing more difficult. he’s used to frozen moisture, not wet moisture. always eager to learn ( and to master control over his own, quickly-growing gangly frame! ), virgil wastes no time putting in the #work. hopping and jumping from one precariously placed stone to the other, claws grappling for purchase. the sound is a little obnoxious as they sharpen upon the surface like a whetstone.

by the time he leaps back to solid ground, his claws are in tip-top shape and his sides heave with all the effort expended. it'd be a good time to go and take a nap, but— with a start, though, he realizes he’s not alone. scrunkly features immediately go sheepish as he makes a small noise — heh! — before moving to join them. another hunt? he chuffs, a little too loud — but it’s bracketed, at least, by the waterfall’s low roar. anything they’d find here was used to noise… or so he hoped.

The mountain seemed to be a place of homage, for the pale beast whom called for the increasingly familiar dance of testing flesh. It was these events that meaned little to her, she was tiring of hunting at the sides of these others she did not know- as she stood there near them each time she shivered in anticipation, far too eager to turn and begin shredding their meat from their bones. But alas, as she made the familiar trek up the mountain, she would restrain herself and the voices within her skull that cheered on the violence her body prayed for. Crimson eyes scouted the path around her, noting the foliage and the roaring of the falls as she prepared herself to hunt.

Back to the peak for more herbs, this time taking a quick peak at the buchu that was nearby. It's leaves were a bright almost neon green that were hard to miss, its flower a faded cream color with little bits of gold in its center. The smell was unique and not something she deemed to be poisonous, so she took a small bite of the flower's leaves, chewed and swallowed. After a couple minutes of not feeling anything in particular deemed it safe to use and began to rip the plant from its roots. If she had brought her satchel out this way she might have just taken leaf after leaf off but she didn't have the room.

So she pulled a few of the leaves off only for someone to call for a hunt. Distracted already she paused her collecting and vanished, leaving them momentarily to move towards the hunt. Taking her steps carefully to remember where she had set them. A few of the same lions were present that had been at the other hunts and a few new ones, but none that she knew so it was easier to stay on the sidelines and wait to move in.

He knows this place. He's been here before, seeking refuge from the miseries in the world. He negotiates the maze of winding pathways with relative ease; lured in by the distant drum-roll of the waterfall he knows waits beyond.

Ambrose breezes onto the plateau, where a few lions have already gathered. A few of them looking similar enough to make him suspect he's disturbing a family reunion no one told him about, but he's sure they won't object to some help.

In an attempt to entertain himself, he latches onto a high-hanging branch and begins to try to pull it off a tree as a warmup, a playful purr escaping him. Can just as well have fun at work while he's at it.

Sunlight blares down on him, warm and familiar. Sprawled on the very summit of the mountain, he lies on the heated rock surface. If he closes his eyes, he can almost imagine he's back in the plains. He's dozing off, headlong into a dream where he is back in the plains, back to a time before the plum invader, but voices pull him from his slumber, grounding him firmly back in reality. He straightens minutely, ruby eyes cracking open as he blearily peers over the cliff's edge. Others have gathered below, and he almost doesn't go, almost wants to dive back into the deep of his dream, but he goes anyway, thinking it better to indulge the distraction for now. He catches a snatch of conversation— another hunt? Shaking off the last vestiges of sleep, he strikes off then, first at a trot and then a run, taking extra care as he navigates down the steepest parts of the mountain. Extended claws ensure him a firm grip, and his muscles ache from the tension.
