Flesh, separates from bone. Spirit, torn from body. Blood saturates the earth. Down, down, down the creature falls, succumbing to its beautiful death. It's agonizing screams tear at the silence, crawling like a drug in Harou's mind. Crimson is splashed all around. Splattering against Harou's lips, covering his ivory chest. If feels warm and sticky. It oozes, fresh, across his skin and he revels in the sharp, sweet taste of it. His eyes will touch @Eve, then, his curiosity blooming there, vivid like an addiction. His eyes will subtly trail the forms of his brothers, but eventually coming to rest on @Faolán. It's with Faolán, that Harou leaves, with her. There, he will continue to scout the lands.

With all of their might thrown in together, they were able to conquer two hippopotamus calves right on the grassy knoll of the Falls. A perfect view as the fat creatures had fallen into pools of their own blood, Carina's head raised as she reigned in her breathing second by second. Gaze trickling over those privy to stand victorious before stepping forward to take her fair share, all while keeping an eye on her surrounding individuals. Not that she expected an attack but it was best to be cautious.

Seeing as she had been busy prior to the hunt she had no interest in carrying what was left over back to the Lagoon, so she attempted to relocate and retrace her steps to where she had set down the leaves of buchu. It took a few minutes and allowed her to side-step momentarily to gaze at a particularly dark-shaded berry with just as dark leaves. The color of the berries alone was enough to deter her from taking any licks or ingesting it entirely as usually that was a depiction of no, bad, very very bad. no take! The plant practically said it all and yet, she still argued that it was a pretty plant, at least in its very own cautionary tale that it wove.

Eventually she stepped on back to her leaves and plucked a couple more off until she was certain that she could gather no more. Shuffling them all into as neat a pile upon the ground as she could before leaning down with her front and picking the stacked leaves up with her month. A few of them snagging onto her elongated canines but she couldn't do much about that. Eventually sauntering off to take her own personal winnings back to the Lagoon. exit carina

unease bubbles in his chest and he steadfastly ignores it. turning a blind eye to that which he does not wish to see, glancing briefly to his flock (nearby, always). reassured, comforted, with prayers on his lips and blessings in his soul. blessings of violence and gore, of ruin and waste, always.

"look, bjorn. let us feast on the flesh of the innocent, the untouched. let us taste the youth and drink of their newness." a grin, as he looks to the two babes. "guide us to victory, always."

and then he is off with sharp claws and sharp teeth and a thrill for the hunt burning in his chest.

and when they are done he plucks out a heart from one of the dead, taking his leave of the scene in a flutter of feather and clatter of beak.

Blood, blood filled the mountain passe, crimson slowly sending rippled of diluted red throughout the falls from their prey. It had taken little time to overwhelm the creatures, hot iron filling the mouth of the star speckled feline, unable to contains her smile as she messily gorged herself on the food. Coated in the wet paint of life, Lunaire would decide herself satiated, turning to quickly make her way out of the crowd that competed for what was left of the prey they had captured.

Scarlet bright eyes would scan her surroundings as she made her way back down the mountain, stains of red left for some while in her wake as she made her way back to the mire.

their target today was, honestly, ugly. weird and wrinkly, but also fat, the hippo calf didn’t stand much of a chance. the hunting party was large and they descended upon it with a fury. for once he’s not hungry and so he hangs back once the deed is done, panting a little from all the extra effort expended. once the hunting party clears out he’s still not hungry, and so back to the rocks he went, careful not to fall into the water below — using his claws to grapple upon the stone’s surface. it helped maintain them too, and helped him keep his balance, and he spent some time hopping back and forth. he'd need a good, long nap after all this... and maybe he'd return back to the calf carcass, to steal a snack for later.

The scent eventually comes to them, and within moments, the party is within motion. Two plump hippo calves cross their paths and the hunt is on. It does not take long to send the brothers in motion; each and every one of them liked to shed blood, and with Draven's prayer on the wind, it drove the momentum that much harder in Dagr's muscles.

Digging his claws into the ground, he lunged forward at one of the young hippos - digging his claws into the animal's fat and meaty back, leaving deep lacerations behind as he eventually was shaken off. Muscles burned as he pushed himself to catch up again. The next time he hopped upon the backs of one of them was the last time.

Eventually, both creatures were felled, watering the ground with their lifeblood. Dagr's heart raced in his chest and he felt a bloodlust surging within him as he stared at the bloody ground. He made sure he was one of the first to break through the fatty layer of the creatures and take a juicy share of their inner organs. When he was satisfied with his share, he'd back off and enjoy it alone in solitude, allowing the others to take theirs. /exit

Were those...hippos? Huh. Hubert hadn't considered that that the weird rotund creatures might range beyond the watering hole. Even then, he usually he saw them hovering around the big river that ran through the jungle. Had these beasts wandering here all the way from there? It seemed unlikely, given their stubby legs, but maybe it would also explain why the pair of calves are without any adults to protect them.

Children were always the most adventurous, after all.

The young hippos stand little chance against their numbers, and Hubert takes his opportunity to dart in when he sees it, latching claws into a fatty neck as his flanks swerved to avoid large, snapping jaws. The flat teeth are only marginally less intimidating than the adult version, so he takes care to keep his tail out of reach. The prince is eager to sample the juicy meat when it's all said and done, and he swipes away a portion to enjoy in a secluded area.

He pauses beside the river again before he leaves, taking a moment to dip in and wash the scent of blood from his fur, replacing it with the smell of crisp, mountain water. He reapplies some wet gravel to his face before he goes, ensuring that his distinctive stripes were fully covered. It could be troublesome if he was followed by someone with unfavorable intentions.

The prey hadn't stood a chance from the horde that had gathered, the infant creatures taken down quickly by the lions, the lilac woman not having much of an opportunity to even help if she had wanted to. So many appeared, during these hunts, so many sought to sink their teeth and fill their bellies these days. Or perhaps, there was something bigger going on that she could not begin to imagine. Regardless, the noble beauty would fill her stomach, taking her time to clean the stains from her body before standing back to her tiny feet and making her way to the den where her plum lover awaited her, carefully observing her surroundings on her way.

Ah, yes, the hippos. Considering their affinity for water, it was no surprise that their young would enjoy frolicking beneath the crystal falls. Their misfortune, however, reveals itself in the absence of a watchful mother to drive lurking predators away with threat of being snapped in half by her mighty jaws.

Tragic, that creatures so young should have to meet their end today, but such is how the cycle goes. Perhaps, in some ways, it is a blessing.

When it's over, the hound is quick to take a morsel of his own from one of the carcasses, grunting with the effort as he seeks to climb his way back up the mountainous paths while carrying his meal in his jaws. It's an extra strain upon muscles that were already sore, but he pushes through the fatigue anyway, so that he might be able to eat in peace. He settles himself on a high ledge in the shadows, idly casting a watchful eye on the hidden valley below as it slowly grows empty once again, the roar of the waterfall the hound's only companion.

A fat creature lumbers into plain sight and the party tenses around him. Poltergeist had been studying the leaves of a nearby Wolfsbane plant when he looked up from his work. It was a little wilted from the growing cold, and its rigid stems snapped easily when Poltergeist took some of it for later study. Though, eventually he turned and followed the rest of the hunting party after the hippo calf.

Such a plump little beast... it was a shame it wandered into the lion's den. The party converged at once, and Poltergeist lingered towards the back, purposely allowing more eager lions to jump at the chance to help with the kill. In the end, the calf was felled and Poltergeist wore none of its blood. Of course, such couldn't remain for so long as he tore away a hefty piece of meat for later consumption. He trotted off, away from the falls with his free-loaded meal. /exit
