His teeth latch onto flesh, sturdy and meaty, and even with the world spinning around him he feels joy in the act. Satisfaction in the way his teeth broke through skin, the metallic taste seeping against his tongue. Simultaneously, his claws tore through sparse skin and flesh across Anthonius’ ribcage, and immediately his limb returns to the ground to aid his already shaky balance.

His tunnel vision was now only for his acquired bite, and he sought to clamp down hard & to try to pull away, to tear a big chunk from his target. As a result, Apollinaire doesn’t even notice teeth coming for his snout until they were digging into his flesh. Blood began to pour, the pain forcing a ferocious growl to leave his throat, and yet he would not release his grip.

Still got miles to go before all is revealedIt felt like everything fell back into a manageable level of chaos in a blink. The boy was released, the two men fell apart, the family was reunited while another fled for their own safety. There were still several fights finishing out, but the atmosphere was different now. Something had snapped, given way.

Darcia couldn't let go of his tension though, not yet. He wouldn't let that tension go for a long time. He could feel the itch of it under his skin, worming its way deeper toward his chest from his spine, seeking out his heart. He remained a silent, wordless shadow as the adults said their pieces, or took them, and slowly began to disperse.

He shifted his eye away from the crowd and back to @Theodosia, seeing some sort of resolve in the way she held herself. She had a family here, a pride, more to represent than himself as an outsider. Now that the heat had cooled down to a light simmer, the boy felt cold, a hollow cavity widening in his chest as he turned his gaze to the man who'd gone on a rampage. He was surprised that the bloodstained beast was still even living, it felt like some kind of grim march.

But it wasn't his march. Dubhán was not here, and aside from the acquaintance of mire princess and Nazonal, Darcia was alone in this crowd.

OOC: With the intention of getting Dragos & everyone else out of limbo I’m going to post again/exit. Thanks everyone, this was fun.

Bloodshot eyes watch as the little family he had stepped on leaves, their child safety clutched between them, the father’s anger palpable. The boy had slipped from his claws the moment the last of his family had fled, doing as he’d begged. His father and uncles - he cannot help them, their battles are already underway. But they are strong, and he has faith that together they will make it out alive. With the boy gone, Dragos expects the still-gathering mob to dogpile him. Punishment for his crimes, for protecting those he lives and dies for.

But that doesn’t happen.

The world… seems to slow down. The drip, drip, drip of his blood from his mouth to the ground, every heave of his chest, the force of the exhale of hot air through his gaping, bloody mouth - it’s all so loud. Almost louder than the shrill, irritating voice of the know-it-all girl who won’t shut up, and the voices mixing around her. All of them speaking, talking. Incessant, unending noise. Beneath the pounding of his head, it’s all too much.

They won’t take him? Without the cub’s life in his claws, he is an open target. But they do not attack. They stand there, prattling, threatening him. But nothing happens. All bark.

"Oh, shut up." Dragos finds his voice, and it rasps in his throat. Slick with blood, but still raw. He is tired, and he is not waiting for them to attack when they’d rather lecture, and tell him what a bad boy he’s been. The slurred, angry words slip free before he can think better of them - and his father arrives, bloody but unbent. Another fight finished. Dragos can’t so much as manage a sneer in the elder’s direction. He must be dying - the suggestion he leave doesn’t sound half bad now.

If he is going to go down - and the slight tremble in his legs suggest he is - he’d rather it not be in this dark, dank place. He’ll see the sun one last time.

He shifts, unsteady but refusing he buckle, and the Savante begins to turn away - "Do not negotiate with cannibals." He tells his father in their mother tongue as he leaves, skull tipping slightly toward the gaggle of Wolfbron lions lingering, staring like rabid dogs. Whatever the outcome, his choice was his alone, and as much as it feels like nails on stone to give his father sound advice, he must do it. The consequences for protecting his family are his, and he won’t have @Alexander ♔ bedding with those that would harm their kin for his doing.

Fangs strike true and sink into the flesh of her neck, jaws clamping down and burrowing into muscle. He shakes his head in an effort to rip, tear, and damage them; to make his own marks upon her pelt. Her blood pours in his mouth like tar. Something he hates about fighting is the fact that he often times must taste his opponent's blood. Such a beautiful, intimate thing - blood. A waste to drink upon those he has no care for.

Valens pulls back, teeth aiming to make as much damage as possible as he does so. He backs away before she can grip at his own neck, her claws raking against his shoulders and making shallow cuts as they have little time to catch grip.

He spits out her blood onto the rocky ground and flashes his bloodied teeth at her, attention soon captured by the events slowly deflating off to the side. He assumes they're with this woman, some of them had been gathered around her earlier before her attack. "Leave here, my family has done nothing to your kin. That man attacked our relatives due to no instigation of our own doing." crimson-stained chin would jerk toward the beast viciously fighting with Anthonius, icy stare burning into @Amara a moment before he'd briskly walk away and join @Alexander ♔. He had no way of knowing all of these savages were blood.

The dappled Savante would not leave his brothers, especially while enemies were still afoot and one of them was still locked in battle. He'd aim to come stand at Alex's right side and simply stare at the strangers. Val wasn't certain what was going on, but he'd not let his brother go into a potential fight alone. A glance to look over the red man's wounds, then back to those gathered, he'd wait with claws and teeth at the ready if need be.

The fight came to an end with @Vermier still firmly on the throne, which was the best possible outcome. And he didn't really expect to get out of the event unnoticed, and so when @Alexander ♔ turned his attention toward him, Ryker would meet the man's gaze with a smirk, "Well we weren't anything special with you, so I doubt I'll notice a difference." What had he done beyond bringing his own family in? Beyond causing friction with allies at the passage? Beyond trying to cling to some tedious moral high ground?

His continuing rant earned a cackle - even if the man hadn't been speaking directly to him, "Ambition? No. This is how Wolfbron handles attacks on their family, Alexander. And theirs has proven stronger than yours today." He spoke to be heard, whether the man wanted to listen or not. Of all the places he could have picked, he'd chosen one of the worst. True, it didn't seem Vermier had much support within the hollows itself, but the might of the bluffs, and his family, had come down on one who'd been unprepared.

Really, he was probably very lucky Apollinaire hadn't taken larger chunks from anyone.

The main event was finished, as were several other side-scuffles, and Ryker found little reason to linger. Even to needle at Alexander. He would shift and move to leave, though was smart enough not to turn his back to any who might see it as an opportunity. "Congrats, Vermier!" He called out with a grin as he moved away from the crowd.

The lacerations to his side were deep, painful, bleeding down to the ground as he could only wince with the extreme discomfort. The bite the male had on him was agonizing, his skin ripping and tearing underway as more damage was done to the area with his hole- but Anthonius felt his own jaws splay around his snout and he would try to bite down with as much force as he could muster, to make him hurt just as bad as he was. Meanwhile, his paw lifted to try and swipe with unsheathed claws at his forelimb- looking to deal more damage to the crazed male and add to his overall wounds.

Teeth sink deeper and deeper, digging through the sparse flesh covering the frenzied hound’s muzzle, agonizing like metal clamping, tightening harder and harder around his dark snout.

And yet!!

Skin tears, rips between the madman’s hungering teeth, and he almost howls with ecstasy as sweet blood taunts him of what he may acquire. What he may devour if only he pulled even harder. And so he listened to the temptation, trying to pull his head further & further away to try and pry free the chunk once and for all. Right paw lifts upward, claws attempting to latch into the same spot he’d wounded across Anthonius’ ribs, to try and aid his pull by pushing against Anthonius. Like a thousand needles the skin of his forelimb burns, fire & brimstone, a feral snarl leaving his busy jaws. The flesh there splits from top to bottom, deep wounds oozing red.

Two battles happening simultaneously. It was entertaining and educational to observe. All that Heir Luther needed was some popcorn to go along with all the violence.

There was plenty of violence.

The challenger and the Dieudonne monarch's battle was long and tedious, the two tearing into each other as Vermier yelled strangely curved words. Luther cared little of their meaning, he was focused on their movements. The way their teeth clashed and their claws tore through flesh. Surprisingly, when he glanced at the other ongoing fight between a Wolfbron man and, what he assumed, was the challenger's relative, it was beginning to wane. There was a lot of blood, and the brown-furred Bluffs lion was acting... odd.

As soon as the battle was done, and the Wolfbron lion was victorious, he yelled and jumped into another battle. Luther's brows tightened together. It seems the Dieudonne Queen surrounded herself with crazy fanatics. Speaking of Amara - she commanded an attack.

Well, shit.

Now he has to deal with their mess? Luckily, the fights were quickly subdued. Alexander lost, and Amara was felled by one of his relatives. He watched a strange situation unfold from afar - the wounded strawberry man was holding a child beneath his paw. He was close enough to overheard as a big group began to bargain, the kid seemingly a Wolfbron cub. One brow lifted as Theodosia approached. He kept a close eye on his sibling, but was too unbothered to insert himself in the Bluff's mess.

It seems, however, that Alexander's family was now Ecrosia and Wolfbron's common enemy, for different reasons altogether. Thankfully the challenger had lost, and Vermier remained King. Ryker had kicked the patched-lions out, which means that they will likely seek another home. Where will they go? He could think of a few places. In any case, Luther expected this won't be the last time he'll see them.

With everything calming down, he stood away to leave. He'd enjoyed the drama thoroughly. Maybe it's best he left in case the Wolfbron lion was actually rabid.

So much commotion and chaos was happenin' all around them, and it was too much for Lucien to deal with while also makin' sure @Fallon and @Kian were kept safe. In between lookin' over at the two would his attention flicker back and forth between the fight he wasn't exactly sure why was happenin', and then more craziness would break out.

With a heavy sigh would golden eyes then catch the endin' of the second fight, the crazed lion that had started it victorious. That was all Lucien wanted or needed to see for today, and as he turned he would continue to try to usher out Fallon and Kian, keepin' an eye out to ensure that they would be able to make a safe exit. Hopin' that the two had followed and made their way back toward Lorien, Lucien would allow himself to calm down a little before rememberin' what he was doing prior to the challenge. Scentin' the air he would catch a light scent of prey, and with a sudden grumblin' of his belly would he take off in search for what it was, the scent leadin' him further away from Obsidian - which he was thankful for.
