Blood mixes with her dark fur and isn't visible until it lays on the group under her. She could feel the warmth of it as it left her veins. His claws hook her ankle and cause the joint to buckle slightly causing her to readjust as he moves and her attack to his armpit doesn't rip through his tender flesh like she hoped. She pulled the claws away with some mane and placed it back on the ground to help with the strain on her now wounded leg.

She could feel his movements as he started to lift himself up, his snarl alerted her to the fact that she was likely pissing him off. Good. Amara didn't let go right away as he lifted himself up, she attempted to thrash her head back and forth a few more times before her target started to move her more and she finally let the hunk of meat go. Shame. His body came crashing toward her and his claws found their place in her sides around the shoulders. As he pulled her in, she turned her head and found a target. She attempted to bite into his exposed left leg in the upper area closest to his body before being smashed into his chest. With their bear hug keeping them close, Amara reached up with her wounded leg and attempted to rip into his underside and belly as she attempted to reach back as far as she could before attempting to hook her claws in and attempting to pull her claws back toward her. With both his legs off the ground it was a prime target area. Pain rolled through her while using it but it was better to use it than to try and stand on it alone again. Her sole focus was keeping her home from this lion who was trying to make a name for himself by taking her down. She could not let that happen. She needed to find a way to make him stumble and fall, fast.

A couple more rough shakes would be felt on his neck before the bitch finally lets go, and although the injuries there throbbed a rush of relief and numb would wash over him. Claws would hook into each of her shoulders, gripping and ripping as she was pulled toward him. He would attempt to drag them downward on both shoulders before paws would begin to make their descent back onto solid ground. As they moved would she snake her jaws toward his extended left leg, feeling her teeth now sink into the upper portion of the limb. The sudden pressure before fang gouged into skin would send Arkyn into a blind fury, his own jaws snapping toward the left side of Amara'a neck that was now stretched out due to her reaching and biting onto his limb. He was attempting to gain a grip just like she had done to his own neck, wanting to cause her pain and inconvenience just like she did him.

As he moved, her claws from a risen left forepaw would try to snake in between the gap between his limbs, and while he was coming down from the small rear would his right paw attempt to intercept her wounded leg, toes curling in an attempt to have claws hook and drag downward toward the ground on the outer side of the leg. Arkyn would still feel her claws tear at his flesh, though, and although they did not reach the tender underbelly they did connect with the flesh that was centered a couple inches back from between his forelimbs, tearing at both mane and skin.

He didn’t know who was fighting, knew nothing about the different sides at play. Two fights waged, but he could feel the tension building, the possibility of more chaos breaking out at any moment rising. He hoped to not be dragged into it, but the moment he laid eyes on the woman defending her crown, his hopes of that fell sharply. He couldn’t recall her name, or if she’d ever even given it to him. All he could remember was the sharpness in her tone when she had grilled him about his father at the passage. Surely she was an enemy, and recognized the maroon stripes on his haunches that marked him as Zoticus’ son. His lips curled at the sight of her, a low snarl beginning to rise, but he quickly quieted himself, hoping to not draw too much attention to himself.

He didn’t know the man fighting for the Bluffs, but he had every reason to suspect the starry pelted woman was responsible for his family's displacement, or that she was in some way connected to it. Even though he knew better than to expect peace in this world, he couldn’t shake the grudge that had fueled him his whole life. He silently rooted for the stranger, not knowing if he was truly worthy or not, or if he was someone Kyros would even align himself with. So long as the ones who took his home when he was a child were gone, maybe he would be able to let it go and move on with his life.

The panting, tattered houndess was without master, aimless since Aliza's disappearance and unsettled by the continual suspicion that she may have been abandoned intentionally. Nobody wanted Walpurgis. Everyone left. Everyone but herself, and it was hard being a WARRIOR of one. She didn't feel self-pity, not that strongly. But she felt a different kind of numb. One that was cold and swallowed days in repetition; one that did not feel rage as strongly. Age, maybe. But she still had her whims.

Such a whim, the lifelong urge to see blood spill and victors grapple for crowns, led her down the Pit. An unscheduled challenge... and she had an antelope ankle-hoof combo daggling in her jaws, bouncing and rattling as Walpurgis heavily thud down ledge by ledge. The air was sadly light despite the crowd. Both fights were between male and female. She couldn't tell which one was for the pride, and which was for fun. The one with the dark lioness and swirled lion seemed slower. The combatants oozed with more blood, and their blows seemed to weaken. Maybe they were not as strong. Then one with a grey female and a brown male. She saw an impudent flash of a tongue, followed by a quick burst of blood. It was confusing to her. Maws and paws and blows! Nervous, whining occasionally, Walpurgis tittered to her stomach and slavered on the withered joint. The shape of the hoof was perfect to run her teeth around in repetition, over and over, and sometimes she'd get a nice tasty burst of marrow or dirt.

Amara's body was touched with scars that each had meaning, each one was a reminder of everything she had given to her family and the pride. Some were easier to see and some faded under her fur. The wounds that the male was laying upon her body would become apart of her and only time would tell how deeply he would remain with her. His claws scaled down her shoulders as her teeth grabbed ahold of his leg and the quick movement of his other leg kept her from being able to get a satisfying slice of his flesh as his own claws slip into her already wounded flesh causing her to pull the leg away from his claws quickly back to the ground. She attempted to keep her grip on his leg even as she felt his teeth land in the thick muscle of her neck. With her thoughts still tied up on trying to make the larger male crash to the ground Amara attempted to quickly start backing up while attempting to keep her teeth dug into his limb. His teeth pulled at her flesh but this would all be over soon and she could worry about the pain then. She was attempting to do her best to pull him along by that leg and his hold on her neck, if he kept it there. She would lower herself to aid in her own balance and hopefully not Arkyn's.

Her yellowed canines circled the interior of the hoof with a scraping, chalky sound that was soothing to her but probably annoying to others. The reverberation through her skull cut down on the nails-on-chalkboard affect. She tilted her head to scrape back along her gumline as she adjusted the ankle bone in her paws. Her attention, fitful, moved back to the bloodier fight as each combatant got a key grip. The male within the female's neck, and the female getting a nice pull on his leg and trying to reel him back. If the male fell that would be bad. He was bigger. And the bigger they were the harder they fell, she'd been told. She couldn't see how much blood was on the female's neck due to the dark skin but it looked like a big bite. If you lost too much blood you'd just fall over. Nobody had ever explained how much 'too much' was and counting was hard even when the things you counted were easy. Counting blood was impossible. But anyway there was a lot of blood and she bet this fight would be over soon and then maybe she'd find out what it had been about in the first place.

He arrives rather late to all of the action, big eyes soaking in the chaos that seemed to be transpiring at the Pit. In one section was the main spectacle -- a man fought the leader of the Bluffs and in another, two unknown lions were also battling it out. Intrigued by the scenes, the growing Miroslav boy tails after his two sisters who have already found themselves at the scene. With a huff, he falls in step with @Laerra and @Aideen, en route to @Louve ♔. "What the hell's going on?" he asks of his siblings as his eyes remain glued to the ongoing battles -- intrigued to see who might be deemed the victor.

@Aideen listens, as she expected. With her come @Laerra and @Donati. Precious little children -- Louve sees in them the potential to be great warriors. Best she work hard to ensure they do not fight against her as their family have; best to train them well before they are discovered.

"Z'at man fights ma mere for z'e throne." Her explanation is quick, to the point. "Non," she is quick to tell Aideen, "not yet. Watch. Apprendre." Learn. Louve is tense, scanning the crowds, keeping an eye on those that have gathered. So far no fights come of it; perhaps this man does stand alone. "Be ready," she tells them, "and listen." Whatever she told them they needed to be prepared. Even if that meant she told them to get the fuck out of here.

Elaine shook her head slightly to her sister's question. There wasn't a target just yet. It seemed that a certain family was filled with cowards by not showing up. à la recherche d'un repas familier looking for a familiar meal Her gaze looked toward @Louve ♔ as she calls for another. Cubs? Elaine didn't know who this gaggle of cubs that came toward them were but it was clear that her sister had taken an interest in them. Elaine moves so that the cubs could get closer to Louve and Elaine moved so that she would sit on their other side to offer them protection from there. Why they had some random cubs in the pride she couldn't even start to guess but she would follow her sister's lead. Our Mere has fought and won multiple times before. She added to the gaggle of cubs after Louve. Her focus went back to the fights happening and hoped that someone would give her a target soon. Do you three fight? She glanced toward the youth. If they were here, they would learn.

The snarling drew him in, as it often did, and he descended into the pit where many gathered and a fight took place in the midst of it. Was he surprised to see that someone else had challenged Amara for her throne? No, he couldn't be. Wolfbron Bluffs was strongly and rightfully ruled by the Dieudonne family for years - many had eyes for that stretch of land, but he would be hard-pressed to say the challenger had any sort of chance.

Poltergeist climbed down to a jutting ledge above the fight, plopping down lazily, allowing his tail to hang from the edge, flicking. He wasn't particularly trying to hide, but he wouldn't be too bummed if no one noticed him up there either. His eyes were fixated on the fight. Both challengers looked tired, and it looked to be wrapping up. Soon, he'd see just who won... but could he really say he had an allegiance to the Dieudonne?

No, not really. And if the new challenger won the rights to the pride, could he really say he would never join it again? Again, no. He had followed Recluse to Caladan Cove, but truthfully, his ambitions lay elsewhere... though he couldn't say for sure that they rested in the Bluffs, but they certainly didn't linger on the beach.
