He's not quite sure why his brain went down this rabbit hole.

The days, weeks, months that led him to today shown Arkyn just how much he was growing tired of being a wanderer. He enjoyed it at the very beginning, being able to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted and not having to worry about taking care of others. But when something is done over and over and over, repetition would become boredom sooner than later. And it would seem as it came later for him.

Massive paws carried him in long, confident strides as he made his way to the center of the pit. Broad shoulders would push themselves backward a bit as he settled into a halt, gaze shifting and observing the territory around him. He could feel the adrenaline already beginning to course through his veins. Ears would flick and twitch as he listened to the rather eerie silence around him. 'Won't be quiet for long,' the Viking mused, letting out a snort.

Wolfbron had been the only pride he had visited in a long while, briefly taking in an overall of the terrain and those who both ruled and lived there. It seemed to be the only pride within Amaryllis he never really heard anything about aside from the family's name that inhabited the Bluffs, that is. At first he was going to leave it alone, allow for it to continue to be what it simply was. Days would drag on and the thought never left his brain, and so now he did the only thing he knew that would quiet his mind - challenge for the crown.

As webbed toes flexed his claws would unsheathe, piercing the dried ground beneath him. And then a billowing call, deep baritones calling out to only one lioness in particular: Amara. The roar would die down and Arkyn would allow for his body to slip into defenses instinctually, now forced to silently wait for her to make her appearance.

she's swelling day by day, sicker than ever, and the stress of andras' situation has caused fernweh to be sleepless again. being out of the boundaries of the summit is a dangerous move for the pregnant heiress, but there's something cloying about the den that she made for the children. she doesn't want to be in there for more than she needs to.

it's only coincidence that she stumbles upon her @Arkyn's challenge. she has only briefly spoken to him, months before, back when she still thought she would not tether herself to her family anymore. it seems arkyn still thinks the same, but there's also something fundamentally different about him. fernweh cannot shake the feeling of unease as she finds a comfortable position to watch. she knows of the rumors surrounding the bluffs. cannibals, they say. yet, she still doesn't know if she wants to support arkyn or not. though he's family, fernweh couldn't help but feel there was a distance between them.

There's a glint in the cannibal mistress' eyes as she hears the call for the throne of the cannibal family — a family, she doesn't quite see as her own anymore. They were nothing but hypocrites, a demand for respect and power when nothing has even been earned to warrant such a bold challenge. Their queen, so quick to lay claim upon that which is not hers, yet flees at the first sign of trouble — would today be no different? How she'd love to see that.

Body thrums with adrenaline as the French babe makes her way down the sheer cliff-face of the gladitorial arena, her heartbeat picking up faster at the sight of the brute that had called the challenge. How interesting. Had his appearance at Wolfbron's borders been nothing than a recon mission for this very day?

A brow lifts curiously at the sight, but only makes the challenge that much more intriguing to her. Ludivine positions herself in the nook of a rock throne, protected from all angles but the front and the right side that she'd come from. While she doesn't exactly expect to get attacked, she can only imagine the fury of her kin at this slight. It would be grand. A small chuff is sent @Arkyn's way as her way of showing support, but she doesn't do much more than that — he needed to focus on, surely, an event of a lifetime.

Just how often did kingdoms fall and rise in Amaryllis. It seemed like once the snows had melted, the warmer spring breeze had riled its share of spirits. It all felt so...relentless, so many claws scrambling for a throne.

Darcia uses the same method he had used before to get a high vantage, even if he is one of the first on the scene this time. The Geminus prince lurks the higher ledges that will give him a good overview of the crowd that will surely come to gather as they had before. And because he was so early, he would have an easier time seeing as lions trickled in. Maybe, just maybe, he would see that familiar, mottled pelt so like his.

To give his buzzing paws something to do as he slowly began to circle the upper perimeter, the boy began to dig his claws into the hardpacked earth intermittently, making discrete marks in the soil as his slitted eyes drank in every new face.

He needed to let off steam, let his blood run free. Tripfire noticed @Ludivine, but he just kept her at the corner of his vision. She didn't seem to understand the concept of family anyway. "talk"

Yurei had been thriving on her own these last months, spending her days feasting on mammoth meat she had stored away. A contented little lioness who had everything she could ever need, save social interactions with other lions. More than anything else, she needed something to entertain herself, the sounds of fighting and the tense energy surrounding a pride challenge sounded perfect for an afternoon of distraction.

The little lioness would arrive, movements slow as she felt her way through the world. Hers was an unusual grace, both beautiful and eerie in how much it varied from those that saw with their eyes as opposed to their other senses. Many calls for challenge had rang out lately. Of course that was unsual to him. And soon he realesed these lands were more dynamic than he though at first. Violence and drama were extremely common as far as he could tell. But either way he found himself attracted to watch. To observe how these lions did each time.

The brown Greyflood accomodated himself to observe, to watch carefully. He enjoyed learning from others, to add new techniques and skills into his own. Not discarting any unless it seemed too dumb to apply.

He approached as his eyes landed into those around. Camly he took seat near a lioness, one with interesting patterns. Without knowing she was family of his. But being respectful he sat several meters away from her.

It wasn't any surprise to her that someone would call for the Bluffs. She'd been hearing pride challenges going up all around the lands, and where there was one or two all of them seemed to go one after the other.

She hadn't gone to the last few challenges just because she hadn't really cared, but this one mattered and so she would attend. Not that she would let the entire lands know she was there. Arcania had gotten quite a bit of practice in hiding at the Pit, having done so several times before, and so she tucked herself behind some rocks where she had a good view but wasn't as easy to find herself.

She was looking forward to seeing Amara fight again, having done so several times in the past. It was always quite a treat.

Her grudge from this pride had never left her mind. They had always been mean to her family, herself had been attacked by some of them. Ganged upon, attacked from behind. Why couldnt they play nicer? Why couldnt they leave her family alone? They had gotten already too many problems from the Rike. They didnt need more.

She sat down with narrowed eyes. A male promising death over the challenger. Typical of these lions. But well, time for the show right?

"I hope he wins." She said into the open air, not caring if somone found offense on it. She wasnt afraid at all.

Well, look who is being challenged now?

A long lasting enemy to her family, to those she loved. They had been a big obstacle into the Sigrun way, always againts their believes. Lies spread, and yet they were here. Now with the Risk of their home torn apart. She wasnt a revengful woman, but to those who had hurt and threatened her family, those didnt deserve her good side.

Yet today she wasnt exactly looking for a fight. She had come just to observe. And to try aboiding unwanted attacks she had come to hide. She had washed her scent before comming, making her place of procedency a mistery. Just to protect the pride.
