The brute arrived late to this pride challenge, so late that he couldn't even tell who fought and won. He stepped upon the sand with a lazy eagerness, looking about as several lions were still engaged in various fights. Had it been this deliciously violent? And he missed it? What a shame...

The waves lapped calmly on the shores, and the sands surrounding them were trampled. Grooves dug deep from fighting lions, too many pawprints to count, and the beach just looked abused. Beyond that, in the treeline, Caelum couldn't have much of an opinion. He couldn't see much, aside from a large pool in the center of the sand and plenty of other nearly leafless trees. He reminded himself to never join this pride. There wasn't much to the territory at all.

As he swept his eyes over the various lions here - some he knew, some he didn't - she stuck out to him. Just finishing up a fight with some black lion, she was there. Was she challenging for the Lagoon? Caelum paused to get a look at him, to keep his scent for later as he disconnected and passed. Caelum did not approach her, but she kept his interested gaze as he stood there amidst the gathering. Some lions chose this time to leave, others were preoccupied with other things. Caelum lingered for the moment, debating on approaching her or just exploring further into the territory.

She misjudged, and it was a glaring error on her part. As her paw rushed towards him he curled in on himself and lunged to meet the attack. Even as she managed to tear at his stomach a little he managed to catch her right leg in his jaws. The moment seemed to happen in slow motion. She felt the snap of her bone as he used his legs as leverage. The pain screamed through her body and she was vaguely aware of someone roaring, until she realized that it was her own roar of pain as he twisted the limb in a direction that was as far from natural as possible. Darkness edged in around her vision as he stood and moved away from her.

She was unable to move. The pain had frozen her. Or perhaps it was the shock. It was all she could do to gather the tendrils of her awareness together and force the pain down, gritting her teeth as she tried to move away from the bloody sand where she had fought. It was the hatred that finally burned away some of the pain. Hatred for Aliza, but now also for her entire family. Before it had been personal, just the two of them. But now? All of the accusations from her previous challenge would be true. Her family would be a target as much as she was.

Her head was spinning as she began to hobble away, barely able to keep her balance on three legs while trying to keep the other one from moving too much. How in the world she was going to make it all the way to the Mire, Tiamat did not know.

As she turned to leave she saw someone else arriving, his black fur with bright white speckles and stripes and his cold blue eyes drawing her attention. She grimaced at @Caelum, the pain making it difficult for her to focus, and continued on, only trying for a moment to meet his eyes before she limped away, eager to get home where she could mourn the loss of her leg in peace. If she could not fight or even walk again then she would choose death over such an existence.

Perhaps she could take Aliza with her, though.

The battle ended soon enough and Colsun was pleased to see @Ransom come out as the victor. It looked much better that he'd won and not lost, particularly in the aftermath of his brother losing his own battle. The teenager watched intently as Scilla was lost to a skunk for the time being and he wondered absently if the ocean would ever be able to wash away the stink. He hoped so. It wouldn't be long before Alizabeth came back for the pride, so all he had to do was hang on until then. His eyes drifted to @Alabaster as he made to leave, indicating the boy was to follow. Colsun said nothing as he rose to his paws and trailed behind, not really caring where they might end up as long as there was food. exit

As the fight continued on, her eyes remained concentrated on the one her sister fought with Ransom. She hadn't had much of an opinion of Ransom before this, but now, a tense knot formed in the pit of her stomach watching as the Colossal got the best of Tia.

Shiva wasn't planning to rush in there like a knight in shining armor; Tia made her own bed when she challenged Alizabeth for the Lagoon the first time around. It was the beginning of an elaborate conflict between the two of them - and now, apparently, the conflict was getting bigger as not only Alizabeth had joined in, but her mate, Ransom, as well. Shiva was intent on ensuring the conflict didn't get much bigger than that, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to involve herself or not.

Alizabeth could be a strong ally or a formidable enemy, and she wasn't sure which she valued more.

A few more attacks from either of them, and the fight would settle in a cloud of dust. Shiva squinted through it, but it would seem Ransom had won, and from there, she eyed Tia leaving the scene limping. Shiva rose to a seated position, craning her neck to see where Tia was going, but she disappeared from view rather quickly.

Keen to find her distraught sister, Shiva rose from her seated position rather quickly to bound after Tiamat, to ensure her sister was alright. /exit

His ice-colored eyes lingered on her for a second. Had she been fighting here? Was that lion the defender? Caelum didn't quite understand, but one thing he did get was that she left gravely injured, and the big black lion was victorious. He was a titan of a lion, but that wouldn't stop Caelum from seeking him out.

She didn't say anything to him, simply looked at him and limped away, and he bent his head to look back as she limped passed him. Should he follow her? He looked forward again, and with those who still fought, the new owner of the beach seemed to have his paws full. It was a perfect opportunity to learn what the Lagoon looked like from the inside anyway, so he wandered forward with Tiamat falling to the back of his mind as new opportunity opened its doors before him. Caelum wandered through those who had gathered here, daring to wander deeper into the territory.

He sought to know what lay beyond the treeline, and he was intent on finding out. Looking around for anyone who might've been watching him, he dipped into the treeline with ease. /exit via wandering :>

She hadn't intended to come back as her last visit had cleared up any lingering wondering she had about the Lagoon and its attachment to her. There was none. The sand under her paws had been strange and foreign so she would have gladly left it alone but her mother left quickly toward it and the cloudy daughter followed. She didn't linger with her mother as the got closer, she moved around to better see who else was there and what she could figure out. There was little surprise that so much blood had been spilled and the sands seemed to have a hunger to soak it in, mixing it with all the blood that had been spilled there before. Her attention flicked to her mother who was getting into a fight again, she watched for a moment before a voice entered her ears and she looked toward @Leander. She watched as he nodded toward her sister who had gotten her ass handed to her. So that is who did it. A silent snarl rolled her lips up as her blue gaze went from the male to the slightly familiar looking female next to him. He had attacked what was important to her and now, she would return the favour.

Elaine charged in from behind @Septima, the sand covering her approach as she took a page out of her mother's old book, one she didn't know was even around. She attempted to get as close as she could before jumping toward the rump of her target, just as she would a zebra she was hunting. She attempted to land with both of her front claws attempting to dig deep into the sides of the lioness's flanks and her teeth attempting to bite along the spine between her own paws. Her back paws searched for grip and traction in the sand as her tail thrashed behind her. She was still silent in her attack, not a single sound had left her yet. She didn't know she was adding gasoline to the fire but it didn't matter to her.

Her claws find his leg and slice through his flesh. Such a great feeling that never grows old for her. A grunt escaped her as she felt their chests coming together again, a downside to being so close in a fight. Her teeth close around his skin but it is short live as he bucks up and causes her hold to get messed up. Annoyance flashes within her but was soon forgotten as he made his own move to attach his teeth her to flesh. He managed to get ahold of the space where her neck came together with the rest of her. She could feel his teeth slice into her flesh and it both thrilled her and pissed her off. Amara attempted to shove herself closer to his chest, hoping to mess up his grip on her neck but also to give her better balance as she lifted her front paws off the ground and attempted to drag both of them downward starting at the shoulders. The leg that he had attacked before pained her but she was pushing through the pain for now. The fight would be over soon and she could deal with the pain then. She just needed to make sure that she bloodied him up enough to make a point that randomly attacking her wasn't a good idea. She still had no real idea why the fight was happening and wasn't really sure if she would get that sorted out when the fight ended or not. It helped to keep her head on a swivel. That, and sand was not quite as quiet to run through as most thought. Septima paid no heed to the sound of sand being tossed by paws until it grew closer, and it was then she finally snapped her attention over her shoulder and saw the lioness barreling towards her. Well, "barreling". There was only so much that could be done for speed when it came to sand.

Septima attempted to swing her hips away to position herself head-on, though she was caught mid-turn instead. Her opponent's paws dug into the side of her shoulder and chest, drawing blood and a furious hiss from her lips. That solved it, then. Prometheus was in legion with the demons of the cliffs; and that would be the rage and pain that pushed her through the rest of the fight.

Septima felt teeth dig into the side of her neck, but despite the collective bruising and bleeding, she was too high on adrenaline to care. The Miroslav attempted to lunge forward, attempting to snap her teeth at the lioness' throat while simultaneously attempting to lift her left paw and attempting to slam it against Elaine's shoulder with claws extended.

His grip upon her flesh broke free as her body pressed forwards, forcing his chin downwards at a most awkward and painful angle. Simultaneously he feels both of her claws running down his shoulders. So he lets the already breaking grip fall free and quickly he aims to shove forwards with his right shoulder into her, sustaining greater damage with her claws as a result, and attempted to take advantage of the window in which both of her forepaws were off the ground to topple her to the ground with a shove. His head joining in, tilted down he aimed a headbutt for the left side of her neck and face.

Well the element of surprise was lost but it mattered little as her claws and teeth still managed to sink into sweet tender flesh. There was something different as she shed the blood of an enemy in the sands that were stolen from her family all those years ago. Maybe she could steal a life here. @Septima seemed keen on making the fight fun and that was perfect. Elaine thrived on the fight and the joy that came from it. The lioness shoved into her chest as teeth grabbed her neck in the thick area above her throat and claws sliced into her shoulder. The pain shuttered through her body, driving her forward in her goal.

Elaine adjusted her backlegs in the sand to give her better footing, her front paws went back to the sand for the moment as she attempted to bite down harder and attempted to start shaking her head back and forth. The effort was to both dislodge Septima's own teeth and to rip deeper into her flesh. Elaine wanted nothing more than to walk away with a hunk of flesh.
