Being a rogue, Uma covered quite a couple of miles on a typical day. If she wanted to keep her muscles in good form, she couldn't sit around on her haunches all day like her lazy asshole of a brother. Somewhere, though, she'd gotten turned around. The wind had changed, blowing strange scents over torrid desert sands. It was a scent she couldn't recognize. There was something else, too--- the smell of water, beckoning her onward. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had a decent lap of real, actual water. Cactus water was fine for quenching thirst, but it was bitter, and the taste wasn't exactly anything to write home about. Drawing nearer, the oasis emerged like a mirage before her, lined by a cluster of trees. One paw in mid-air, she froze for a moment, but detecting no movement, seemed to shed her all prior caution. Closing the gap between her and the treeline in a couple of bounds, she set her paws against a one tree's trunk, raking her nails across. As she dragged her paws downward, she stretched lazily, and then proceeded to flop down onto one side, one claw still lazily hooked into the tree's bark as she cast a marvelling look about. Absolutely no one here. Whoever's scent she picked up on the way here, she conjectured they must've fled when they saw her coming, a notion which admittedly gave her a little boost of confidence.

Large paws carried him along the borders of the Oasis. Keeping the ever watchful eye and being the dutiful Heir. He knew that Seneca was out looking for his own children and anyone else that was missing. Drakon would go out later today but for now he stuck to the Oasis like glue. Yes, Drakon knew and understood that he couldn't do anything if the mist were to come and take every lion from the Oasis. He knew that very well but he would try to do something while he could right? However, his blood froze when he caught the scent of someone having crossed the border and it wasn't someone he knew. So Drakon followed it until he came upon a woman and he would let out a growl. Drakon didn't know who she was nor did she look familiar, but right now she was a threat. "Who are you and why are you here?" He had half a mind to claim her for trespassing.

Catching some movement of bugs scurrying across the exposed skin of the tree, Uma redoubled her efforts at scratching its trunk, intermittently licking and gnawing at the bark, bearing away entire civilizations of ants with one sweep of her tongue. They weren't likely to fill her up, but regardless, Uma gorged herself on any food that presented itself, as more often than not, her next meal was uncertain. Occupied as she was, she didn't hear somebody approach until the very last moment. In one fluid movement, she gained her feet, vaulting several meters up into the tree. Belatedly, she seemed to realize this wasn't the kind of tree that had any branches jutting out, though, so having lost some face, she haphazardly let herself down again, swivelling to protect her vulnerable backside before landing on all fours and facing the voice.

Another lion-- a big, white, one, by the looks of it, was flashing his fangs at her. It seemed she'd made a grave miscalculation, and it had panned out in the worst way possible. She knew she couldn't show it on the outside, but one glance at the male and she understood that he was far too big too bully. Probably too big to outrun, too. She only had one option left. She bluffed. She arched her back, attempting to make herself appear as large as possible. "Uma. And I was thirsty." She growled, a light snarl on her face. "Got a problem with that?"

Drakon had watched her climb the tree and came back down. Fiery jewels watching her with daggers as she would finally face him. She was smaller than he was but that didn't matter to him as he would let his claws dig into the ground beneath his large form. So she was thirsty, did that give her the right to come into the Oasis unwelcomed? No it didn't. A growl formed as he watched her try to make herself bigger where he didn't have to. "Yes I do actually, you have trespassed into my home." He would state bluntly before making his move.

A deep rumble came from his chest as Drakon would shove himself forwards in an attempt to basically shove his entire weight into her side and push her down. Meanwhile his right paw would come up and attempt to dig into her thigh to try and get her down as well.

His home? "Ah, shitsticks..." The words were a low, reluctant rumble. "Don't suppose you'll let me go on my merry way." Should've known this place was too good to be true. It did explain a lot. And it certainly explained why he was charging towards her like a one-man buffalo stampede. She lowered herself to the ground, pressing her side against the tree as she braced for impact.

The male's charge knocked her back into the tree, prompting it to shake with the force of the impact and scraping her back. She'd drawn her lips back from her teeth in a breathless snarl, the force of his shove having momentarily knocked the wind out of her. For the moment, she managed to keep upright, which at least made up for the bruises she would undoubtedly feel when the adrenaline wore off. Too late, she noticed his right paw striking out towards her thigh, raking down and forcefully dragging her hindquarters groundward.

Now feeling like a zebra halfway through a takedown, Uma erupted with audible, snarling fury, her upper body jerking up as she sought to blindly sink her teeth deep into the soft flesh of his nose, though anywhere on his face would be a win in her book. Her hope was that attacking his face would put him on the defensive, or at the very least direct his attention away from trying to knock her down.

His attack worked and her back end went down but that didn't mean she didn't come back with her own defense. Fiery jewels took note of her jaws coming to his face and he would attempt to back up, her teeth pinching at the tip of his nose as he would attempt to push himself towards her briefly to head butt her jaws. At this point he didn't care if she got his nose, he was here to show her just who was in charge and that she shouldn't be coming into anyone's home unwelcomed and uninvited.

Having gotten the male to back up, even just for a moment, granted her some time. She got her feet under her, struggling into a sitting position before launching herself upon him, claws poised. As his head came rushing toward her, she proceeded to spread her jaws wide, trying to catch his head into her mouth like a baseball into a glove, apparently in a bid to work his head into her mouth and... eat his face? In the heat of the moment, Uma often resorted to trying to eat the faces of those she didn't like. The accelerated impact of his head slamming into her waiting jaws knocked her head back, giving rise to a sickening headache that rattled her brain. Still, if successful in securing a grip, she'd trudge on like a good soldier and endeavour to wrap her forearms around his sizable neck, standing up on her hind legs and clinging on like the feline equivalent of a facehugger as she attempted to bite down hard, seeking to inflict the maximum amount of pain.

Pain? Oh yes, Drakon felt the pain and it was there, something he was used to when it came to fights. His body had grown accustom to it and yet it still hurt with every time he felt it. Ears flattening on his head and into his mane as he would feel her teeth dig into the top of his head as paws wrapped around her large and thick neck. He felt the weight and growled as she would feel that she was using just her back legs and he would think of a move. One he hadn't used before, at least he doesn't remember using it as Drakon would push himself up and over attempting to throw Uma over and behind him, knowing full well that it might cause him so damage to.

Standing up on her hind legs, losing her equilibrium would be all too easy, but she didn't care, wanting only to inflict as much pain on her opponent as she could. However, her opponent, as it turned out, was made of tougher stuff than she was accustomed to. To her surprise and dismay, she could feel herself beginning to lift slightly off the ground. In an attempt to keep her footing about her, she stretched out her tail, trying to provide some kind of counterbalance, but it was a lost effort, her tail ending up brandishing in the air futilely as he pushed himself up and over, forcing Uma along. Still unwilling to let go, she attempted to reinforce her grip on his head, paws clenching around his neck, two warriors locked in a fierce embrace as she came down hard, messily toppling over and behind the bigger male. Bearing the full brunt of the impact had visibly winded her, but the only other option was to release him and run, a risk she was unwilling to take, considering he was bigger and quite likely faster than her. Wanting to take some of the fight out of him, she opted to use the last reserves of her strength to try and lash out at the male with her back legs, hoping to draw some blood with her sharp claws wherever possible.
