Indeed this was a romantic tango. One with a romantic prize - a carcass full of meat. Caelum was looking forward to eating it should he win... but for the meantime, his appetite could be satiated with the taste of blood in his mouth. But let's not jump to conclusions - Caelum was no cannibal. There were plenty of other taboo vices he partook in, but cannibalism wasn't one of them.

As Caelum tried to dodge the male's bite, his opponent looked a bit confused, and quickly closed the gap. When Caelum went for behind his shoulder, Violarum ducked and went for Caelum's foreleg, taking an awkward, underside bite at the back of his leg... and attempting to pull it out from under him.

For the record, no one ever taught Caelum how to fight. He was a lion that knew how to torment, how to kill... but an honorable fight? He was awkward, jerky, and bad at it. He did things that didn't make sense, made movements that were off and awkward, and aimed to bite at things that other seasoned warriors might've ignored.

Caelum, for the most part, tried to keep it steady, but as the male kept pulling it - soon pulling it uncomfortably out of place - he had to let go of his opponent's skin and see what was going on. With three paws on the ground, he attempted a quick kick to the backside of the male's head with the adjacent back leg... though he couldn't keep it up for long as he needed it for balance.

The male pulling at his leg was causing him to get unsteady, but he was determined to do something to take the male's attention away from his target onto something else... so Caelum ducked and attempted to bite down on the back of the male's furry neck - getting a whole mouthful of mane, but hoping to connect with something in there.

He had succeeded within his effort to grasp forelimb, and seemingly also succeeded in wavering his opponents balance. However, there soon came a change in Caelum's attention - from armpit to neck, only moments after the black male's hind limb clawed briefly at the side of Violarum's face. The kick was enough for Vio to release his grasp, but not without attempting a beastly shake of his skull to try and cause a bit more discomfort.

Grazes of blood formed on his left cheek where toes had struck, and soon, Caelum's teeth also grazed the topside of his right neck; fumbling through mane to pinch vaguely at the fatty layers beneath, sure to leave shallow lacerations and bruising. In a final hurrah, Violarum attempted to plough forwards; trying to catch the top of his neck on the male's right side ribcage, head tucked low, weight bearing forwards, endeavoring to toss the younger man off balance.

Caelum had already been in a weird position, using every last fiber in his being to keep his balance. @Violarum shook his head, causing more pain, ripping the wounds open more, just as he let go. It was a weird game of twister they were playing here, and Caelum was determined to win. But when the male had surged forward, Caelum lost all of that. Everything.

He tumbled in a somersault fashion - body tumbling over head, landing on his back, though he was quick to roll over to protect his unders. He met the male with a fierce snarl, but it would seem the fight was over - and Caelum was the loser.

He got up without a word, feeling the soreness in the various places on his body (especially his front leg), and flicked his tail once to show his annoyance. With one glance back, he limped further from the kill he had attempted to claim, leaving the area and leaving the male to his meal.

In his defense, he didn't start it. Unless you consider poking the bear starting it. As he had quite literally poked the bear. The Mire Sivereign is victorious, the younger male backing off with a rather dramatic tail swish. No harm no foul, his day would come - Vio had been doing this a little longer. An old veteran when it came to fighting for scraps.

Rogue life will do that to a guy. He stands there with aching wounds and a puffed breast, watching the masked male depart from the area. He'd already had a nibble, he'd be alright. Violarum walked onwards to scoop up the carcass and take it back to The Mire cache.
