There is an eeriness to the lands - an unknown chill that seemed to hang across the air, threatening to consume more than it already had. The shift is undeniable and, evidently, had already garnered its fair share of attention, as lions flocked in an attempt to rectify the disappearance of their kin.

Here, the fog seemed to thicken abruptly, occupying the area as a swirling mass of white smoke and fading, hungry clouds. Listen close enough, however, and one may catch a sort of strange echo — indiscernible, mostly, other than the waning tremor that it left behind. There is almost no denying that there is someone in there, caught amongst the maze of wispy tendrils and omnipotent barriers.

And although the sound of approaching footfalls was beginning to grow louder, the question still remained - will they be able to find them?

Pandora would break away from the group to start searching for her missing band member, hopping to use all of her skills to gather tracks, to find hidden scents and anything that could lead to Arachnae. She remembered when Astrid told her about polygamic relationships and she wondered if her mate like the other female. But that wasnt important now, she shook her head clean of those toxic thoughts, she needed to find her regardless of how she felt. She would do it for her mate, for her band. And like that she sniffed through the jungle, ears up, silent steps. Determination pushing her forward, she searched fast, hoping they had chances to find her alive still. She followed her wife from the group and further into the mist. She kept close to her wife's side when they left and even when they got further into the mist. Now that they understood what was going on, she knew that they needed to look for those missing and though she didn't know who she was looking for, this was the best idea. Just start looking. Ears twisting as she would listen to the area around them. Arachnae was one she was aware that they hadn't seen in a good minute, and she worried for the peach woman. Though she had never talked to her again about their relationship going further than friendship, Astrid still worried.

Stopping short, sea foam jewels flickered around as she would hear footsteps. @Pandora. She would call to, ears twitching and twisting on top of her head as she became alert. Claws outstretched and dug into the ground as she watched and prepared herself for whatever was going to come. Stay close, someone is coming.

They gather, finding some sort of unity and camaraderie beneath their common cause, bodies and minds working as once to try and find those that they had lost. The echo continues for a while longer, buzzing beneath the surface of the mist as if trying to break free — though it would find no avail. At least, not yet, anyways.

For it was abruptly that there was another shift, the air growing taunt as a small gust of wind pushed out across the landscape, demanding the attention of those present.

A snarl ripped through the air, the sound cold and chilling and misplaced amongst the women’s desire to find their kin. but this lion did not wait, nor did he care — because these were his lands, and they had disturbed them. "you do not belong here." the rogue barked curtly, finally emerging from the mist with barred fangs and flaring, slitted eyes of gold. spit pooled in the corners of his lips, his dark pelt slick and riddled with scars, denoting, surely, that there was no jesting to be had here today. they would have one chance to leave, lest they wanted to be forced to go.

Ears up, ready to react upon anything, footsteps echoing through the worsening mist, setting the woman in high alerts. Eyes resting on the surroundings, she did have fear, but she wouldnt show it, hiding her concern in cold eyes. Looking to both sides and behind. She could hear @Ástríðr, calling her name. To which she would approach her mate and stay closer to her side, they could do better as an united front instead of sparse. Then a voice, one charged in hostility came to her ears. Eyes narrowed into a shape, a lion, one who seemingly lived here but she did nor say anything just watched and would follow whatever her mate would do. search roll: Rolling 1d10: 3 trade boost: n/a

Feeling her wife come closer only made the shield-maiden brush against her white pelt. Ears falling flat in her mane as sea foam jewels kept looking around the mist that surrounded them. Claws digging into the ground of the Jungle as she watched for anyone. Deep down she was praying it was Arachnae but it wasn't as a male's voice came to her flattened ears. Hostile words coming to her and @Pandora, and it only caused Astrid to growl and dig her claws further into the ground. It is you that doesn't belong here. She was not going to be leaving without Arachnae. She would not leave her hand behind.

The lion's chest rumbled deep with a growl and the vibration radiated down his spine. Fur bristled up down the length of his form. Crackling, angry energy meeting to Astrid's own. Then bring it. He leapt forwards in attack.

With his tail between his legs the lion fled the first opportunity that he had to catch a break and free himself from the bout. He ran towards a nearby wall of thick mist, barreling through it and sending the white veil dancing upwards, outwards, exploding out from the point he ran through. And then with a swirl it collapsed back in around him. But as it shifted and shimmered a differently sized shape appeared...

Astrid did not give the other a chance as she charged at him. Teeth snapping at fur, pulling skin off of meat and blood soaking their pelts. Ears twisting to lay on top of her head as claws dug into flesh with each blow. Yes, her wheat pelt would be soaked and her body would be exhausted and covered in bruises but by the time it came to it; she had won. @Pandora was safe as well as their unborn children as sea foam jewels watched the male tuck tail and run away from her. Breathing heavily, Astrid would stand there even when he disappeared and @Arachnae's form showed. Causing sea foam jewels to widen as she bolted towards the woman, unsure of what kind of health the peach woman was in. Arachnae!

Time was merely a concept, it seemed, as a search for herbs turned into an endless walk of horror and nightmares. She left Svetka at the base of a standalone tree in Celosia Fields, near her and Alexon's apothecary. Dark paws padded in the direction she was certain was the ocean, fog rolling in thicker as the "night" wore on. But it seemed she had walked in an endless loop, the last traces of salt vanishing from the air.

Hours? Days? Weeks? Months? Her paws reached sand before long, dry, red sand. The ocean was far behind her, somehow, she was deep in the desert... But... You had to cross yellow sand to get to the red sand. Wasn't I just on solid ground? panic set in over time. The fog was eternal, her skin blistered and yet there was no sun. There's no sun. So..... Ra has been defeated. she knew the time of Apophis eating the sun was unavoidable.... But she hoped it would not be for many more thousand years. She had been spared from the torture of his subjects for being a priestess.... Instead she would burn here, slowly, in empty purgatory.

Time passed, years, it seemed. She almost collapsed from the sudden solidifying of the ground, cool moist ground beneath her instead of shifting red sand. Confusion and dehydration made her mind swirl and twist. She had seen horrors shift in the mist during her time trapped in the desert.... So when her name began to quietly echo from the rolling mist, she felt relieved the hallucinations had calmed a little. Until suddenly, a very real male rushed past her out of the endless depths, bringing with him the wall that surrounded her, a hard wind ruffling her thin fur before slowly, her eyes opened. The call of her name was clearer now, and the large form of @Ástríðr came into view, the gentle swirls of pale cloud wisping around them. But now, she had been found. "Á-Ástríðr..." Her voice cracked, relief flooding her body, dehydration and exhaustion finally taking over. She made it only a few steps forward before she folded to the ground.

WHITE WALKER

After a hard battle against the intruder both were able to get him off. But not unscattered, but nothing beyond repair. Luckily the both of them were enough to drive away the attacker who ended up helping the find their lost comrade. "Ara..." She managed to say while she saw Astrid go to her, in a very worried and needy way. She was happy they find their friend but she couldn't help but feel jelly, but not in an ill level, but she wasnt about to let them know. Something ached in her chest but subtle, she needed to be happy not sad. She wore on a calm face, hiding the pain. As Ara collapse she went forward. "@Ástríðr , help me get her to safety. She needs a safe place." And like that she aimed to help, to get Arachnae to a less exposed place. exit Pandora to help Ara
