July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

There was so much going on but Gostir was not going to leave Sana behind to be alone while her family fell apart. He knew that family meant a lot to her as it did to him even though he barely talked to them or about them. He didn't want to see her hurting because of it either. Ears twisting as Gostir would move from the Shoreline where he had kept his den for the longest and yet now he was here in the Chambers. It was interesting but he needed to figure things out; plus vague on the thread with him trying to join. Fiery jewels glanced around the chambers as he walked through the chambers, his mind wondering.

Aarani hadn't been interested in anything but survival. She was no longer interested in joining a pride simply because prides fell, and although her children were dwindling and it was now easier to be uprooted and move.. she didn't want to. It was best to stay a rogue, away from the constricting binds of pride life. A nomadic lifestyle was what she had been grown up into. It only made sense she would remain that way now.
Still, she wandered from time to time. Her travels brought her to the chambers once more, a familiar path she had taken several times before. Rani moved silently, happily minding her own until she spotted another figure. "Oh," she murmured, startled. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were there."

It hadn't occurred to him that someone else might be in here until Gostir heard a voice. Ears twisting as large paws stopped in their tracks as he would glance around with fiery jewels. Finally landing on the figure who held the voice and Gostir quickly recognized who the woman was. This was Sana's mother, and though he had never met her in person until now, she had caused her daughter some great confusion. But he wanted to give the woman a chance and turned to face her. It's fine, this is a neutral territory, anyone is welcomed here. He would state, moving to give her space if she wished to join him. Are you Sana's mother? He knew she was but he just wanted to make sure.

Aarani watched him with some sense of familiarity, though she couldn't quite place what stuck out. If Sana had ever described her boyfriend, the stressed woman had long since forgotten. Still, there was something there that gnawed away at her -- at least until he spoke up asking her identity. The lioness blinked in mild surprise at the recognition, though she supposed there weren't many that had her curly mane and freckles. Rani assumed, then, that this was the boy her daughter had been hanging out with. "Yes, I am. And who might you be?" She smiled softly, eager to learn more. @Gostir

SO he was right. A dip of his head went towards the woman as she state that she was indeed who he had thought she was. I am Gostir Tollaire. He would introduce himself to her properly. Ever the gentleman towards other's. Sometimes. I want to apologize for not meeting you sooner. He would've went looking for the woman himself had he not been worried about Sana. She had left the Rain Forest - so did Indra but he wasn't Gostir's concern - and hadn't returned. His side was cold without her around and he was at wits end on going to find her. Ears twisting at the thought, did her mother know she was missing?

The young man certainly seemed to know who she was, leaving her at an obvious disadvantage. Aarani tilted her head as he introduced himself and then promptly apologized for not meeting her sooner, though she couldn't fathom why one of her friends was so keen on saying hello.
Unless he wasn't just a friend.
Her heart constricted. She couldn't stand in the way of Sana and love, but Aarani no longer believed in it. Every fiber of her being wanted to chase the man off before he could break her daughter's heart, but she refrained. It wasn't her life to live.
"A pleasure, @Gostir. My name is Aarani." Though she suspected he already knew as much. "What brings you out this way?"

On his end, Gostir wanted to believe that he was more than a friend but he hadn't forced himself onto her daughter and therefore didn't force Sana to love him if she didn't want to. But right now he had been focused on finding her daughter and it brought him to wonder if she knew about Sana's disappearance. Gostir hoped it wasn't due to the mist, but then again he didn't entirely know either. So for now, he was restless because he didn't know if Sana was safe or not. A pleasure to meet you. I am actually looking for Sana, I haven't seen her in a few days and I'm worried. He would admit to the mother.

Aarani would have gleefully dug into the boy's personality and past a bit more of he hadn't said something to make her heart sink. Her face grew concerned as he admitted he hadn't seen her in a few days, and that much was enough to worry her. Sana had never been a homebody, but she couldn't imagine the red girl going off without letting anyone know. "No, I haven't seen her." Not since Firnen had fallen. Aarani bit the inside of her cheek, noting now that @Gostir himself smelled of the rainforest. Is that where he was living? Had Sana chosen to stay? It didn't matter now. The only thing that mattered was making sure her daughter was alive and well -- wherever she was. "Where did you see her last?"

Her mother's admission to not seeing her daughter recently was troubling. Granted, Gostir understood that Sana had a lot on her mind since Zoticus took over the Forest and knew that her mother didn't like the man which had only caused a rift between the family. So perhaps, asking her mother hadn't been the best option but he did because he cared for Sana and thought her mother would like to know about her missing. Whenever Arjana held a pride meeting and I joined. That had been a while now. Now that he thought about it and his fiery jewels flashed with concern as he glanced around.
