It started out subtle at first, manifesting with the morning mist that seemed to hang around a little longer and a little denser than usual. It loomed across the valley in a way that could have been shrugged off as a simple shift in the weather — though, unfortunately, as the days wore on it became clear that something far greater, and far more powerful, was at play.
In the dead of night, the bulk of the mist rolled in fervently, steamrolling all in its path and consuming the lands in what could be described as an overtaking. Those present when Amaryllis’ gates first opened may remember something similar, but beware, as this incident seems far more daunting and far less predictable than it was before.
Because this time, the mist is more than just a barrier to the lands. This time it is mischievous, and is causing the disappearance of lions all across Amaryllis, swallowing them up as though they were there one minute and gone the next. Where exactly they’re going, nobody knows — but it is clear that they need to be found, and fast.
To make matters stranger, the arrival of the mist seems to have brought other things with it, as well. New creatures have started to appear, though it is still too early to tell the extent of what that means or what is coming.
Is this Maua’s doing, or something else entirely? Surely the creator would find no joy in such chaos — but what other explanation is there for such a sudden turn of events?
Welcome to our Return of the Mist BWP! This BWP is going to have a few elements, the entirety of which will be revealed on March 1st — the purpose of this teaser is to begin sign-ups for lost lions, who are those falling victim to the mist and who will be declared disappeared once we get started!
Sign-ups will run from now until February 28th at 5pm EST.
The March 1st release will include the rest of the information on the BWP, the process of finding lost lions, extra information on trade experience, random events, and more. This BWP will run for the entire month of March, which means that there is lots of time to get involved and see how things play out!
Lost lions are an integral part of the plot, but come with a few caveats and guidelines that everyone should be aware of before signing up and offering your characters for it!
- Lost lions won’t be able to post until they are successfully found ICly by other characters, or until the BWP has come to an end — whichever comes first.
- They can post to threads dated before the beginning of the BWP (i.e. made before March 1).
- If they get set to inactive during this time by the bot, we will fix it for you and they will not need to be re-auditioned.
- Leader characters cannot be signed-up unless you are okay with them forfeiting their rank (as they would not be able to meet posting requirements).
- Once the BWP is live on March 1st, you can choose to make a thread of your lion “vanishing” if you’d like, to signal the beginning of their disappearance for your rp partners and to get the ball rolling.
- What happens to them while they are in the mist is up to you — they could remember nothing, believe that they were taken somewhere else, etc. This is freeform and up to you to decide for flexibility and character development, but should not include anything that goes against the current lore of the site.
- Each member can sign-up a maximum of 2 characters for becoming lost.
- Depending on the total amount of sign-ups that we receive, we reserve the right to cap the number of lost lions and conduct a raffle, if necessary. This is to ensure the BWP remains balanced, and so that there are enough characters to successfully find all those who are lost.
- These threads need to be 10+ posts in length, with exits, and the main focus must be on the mist, in some capacity (i.e. investigating it, trying to find lost lions via our official mechanism, etc.).
Volunteering a character to be lost will automatically earn that character our BWP IC award (to be distributed at the end of March). Non-lost lions can also earn this award by completing 2 BWP-related threads during the month of March.
If you are interested in offering up a character to disappear, please submit the following form to this thread. If you have questions, reach out to an Admin.
