With food in his belly, a nap under his belt, and his wounds treated, Roan thought it was time now for Jai to hopefully meet his new Mama. Once the boy was awake, the mauve lion would stir as well, releasing a brief jaw as his senses refreshed themselves. A sleepy gaze looked down towards the boy with a smile, still nestled between his paws. "You ready to meet your mama?" Roan questioned gently, careful to not startle the cub too quickly after he had just awoken. He hoped Fae was at least in earshot if he called for her, not wanting to have to leave Jai to go looking for her.
No fights in progress
The nap was refreshing to say the least. Better than what he had in the past month from the trip that lead up to this very moment. But now, he began to stir and with that so did his Papa. Ears twisting as he heard Roan move and soon words slipped out as he asked about meeting his Mama. A yawn, a stretch though careful in doing so, and then a sheepish nod came from the albino babe as he stayed curled up in between Roan's large paws. He was nervous to say the least. The last time he had a "mother" she had sent him off to be carved into and left for dead. But not this time; hopefully.Speech.
A crooked smile pulled at the king's lips when Jai didn't say anything in return, yet gave a little nod to answer Roan's question. Slow and steady they would go at this. "Alright," the man smirked before sending out a series of chuffs in calling for his wife. The low sounds would easily reverberate through the tunnels of Obsidian, certain that they would reach her so long as she was somewhere within the pride territory. There was little urgency within his summons, not wanting @Faelyn to panic at being called for. He also didn't want to frighten his son by any loud noises. If there was going to be a perfect first person to meet within the pride, after Roan, then it would be the soft spoken, white pelted queen. While they waited for her, though, Roan had a thought he should mention. "Ya know, it dawned on me that you might not know what it means to be part of this pride yet. Not only are you my son now, but since I am king, that makes you a prince. And your mother is the queen." A perfect little family. How it was always meant to be.
@'unnamed cub'
@Roan called out to someone and Jai would stay where he was. Waiting patiently for Fae to come along. Though silence was something he was used to it was clear that there were other things to talk about as his Papa soon began to speak about the pride and family. What it meant to be in the family. To be part of a pride. Though Jai never knew it, he was royalty by birth anyways but now that he did it felt right. It felt like home. What is a pwince? He would seek out. He was a cub and curious of all things. He didn't realize that a prince was held at a different spot.Speech.
It didn't take her long to find the man, and her gaze was immediately drawn to the cub he was speaking to. "Well hello little one! What's your name?" she asked as she approached, automatically lying down before her husband to stare adoringly at the cub.
@Roan
Hm, that was a good question. What was a prince? "Hm, well at your age, a prince is really just a fancy way to say that you are a king or queen's son," he started off as they waited. "But as you get older, it will be a more useful rank." Before the masked man could go into much more detail about being a prince, though, @Faelyn soon arrived to his summons. A bright smile formed across the king's face as he watched his wife instantly take to the child. Her sweet nature queried for @Jai's name as she laid down in front of the pair. "Fae, this is Jai," he'd start the introductions himself while expecting the prince might be shy with a new face. "And Jai, this is Faelyn, my wife, who I was telling you about earlier." Roan's tones were gentle, just wanting to put the names between the two first before anything else. He'd quiet down, intent to see how the two interacted with one another before mentioning the adoption to Fae.
@Roan began to explain to what a prince was and he was keen to listen as much as he could with a cub attention span. However, it all changed whenever another arrived and though she laid in front of them on her stomach and Jai could tell that she was nice, it still freaked him out and instantly buried himself into his Papa's mane without rubbing off any of the ointment that had been applied to the wounds that had reopened. Roan did speak though, explaining that this was @Faelyn the woman that he had spoken about and the one that would eventually become his new Mama if Jai was alright with it. So red jewels were keen to look at her from his hiding spot.Speech.
@Roan @Jai
The moment @Faelyn joined them, @Jai was already scrambling to bury himself into Roan's thick mane. Though the mauve lion wouldn't stop him from hiding, he would still try to calm his son enough to begin to interact with his potential mother. "You're okay," the masked king soothed while allowing for his mane to become a hiding spot. "She won't hurt you." Just as he had said the first time he met the child, Roan knew Fae would not hurt the boy either.
Luckily, for them all, even the queen realized how shy the child was as she laid down on the ground, apologizing for having startled him in the first place. It was really just hard not to startle him, making Roan fear for how they would ever properly introduce him to the rest of the pride, but he would settle for these baby steps first. Though the Hodari had recognized that Jai was albino, the whole sun sensitivity thing wasn't really mentally acknowledged just yet until Faelyn started to point it out. He'd only ever had the boy within the tunnels so far, so there was no threat of sunburn. His uncle had never seemed to have much problem with the sun, but then again, the Hodari was also probably too young to remember much even if the original Jai had been sensitive to sunlight.
@Roan was instantly calming him down, explaining to Jai that @Faelyn wasn't going to hurt him and that it was okay. Red jewels glancing over towards the white woman who had joined them and he even listened when she began to apologize. Something no had ever done towards him but he had done many times in his very short life time. Ears twitching on top of his head as he would listen to her and slowly begin to move his way out from beneath Roan's large frame and long mane. Her question was brought to his attention and he would think, letting silence come between them before he would nod. Now thinking about it, his savior had rarely traveled during the day but at night. It wasn't until Roan had found him in the cave, that had been his first time in the sunlight but he had fallen asleep of course.Speech.
