⚓︎@Leviathan arrives with his usual fanfare, and she quirks her lips at the sight of him dragging a shark in to the midst. That was one way to make people talk... and to intimidate his opponents no doubt. She offers a hearty "aye!" when he mentions the Blackmont's, even if sometimes she forgets the name is hers.

And then a familiar face approached, and for @Khal she had a warm smile. "Aye, don' think anyt'ing of it." His thanks was appreciated but unnecessary, but she dips her head as a gesture of acceptance nonetheless. "I am jest glad yer well." Beyond a scar he was recovered and that was what mattered the most.

They do not have long to catch up, because soon they were instructed to draw stones, and the peach druid pushed through the crowd to do so. Her opponent a large male she did not know, but who moved aside and whom she approached with a smile. "Calypso," she offered in return, with a tip of her head and a grin.

He gave her the first move, and she did not hesitate to snatch it. This was all for fun and games, but that did not mean she would be a pushover.

Calypso sought to approach from head-on, ocean storm eyes fixated on her target. As she drew near enough she slid to a stop, left paw raising from the ground to strike out at his right side in an attempt to scrape the skin, there. It is not a full force strike as she would use in a true fight, but only enough to bruise if her aim is true.

Simultaneously her jaws open and seek to snap up at his nose, attempting to pinch the tender flesh with her teeth.

it's almost light to fight arjana - they grapple, not gently but not with the intensity of a maim challenge, either. not with the rage pushing her on - so often saga has fought only when her emotions reached a boiling point. but today? there's a smirk on her opponent's face as saga's claws slash across the noble's shoulders. her own fangs slice across the woman's face, clearing the eye with care. her opponent's claws flash out, sinking into the flesh of her own foreshoulders and scores gashes down the front of them. "maybe i want more than a hug" she taunts back, voice low. a guttural sound escapes her throat at the renewed flash of pain and saga attempts to shove forward to slam into arjana's chest, simultaneously using her grip on the sides of her neck to try to pull her body weight to her left. her intention is to try to unbalance and topple the woman.

He may not be an active participant, but Magnus still felt every inclination to attend. He liked @Arjana, and from what he understood a fair few of his kin and friends were taking part. Slowing to a halt on the outskirts, he would glance across the sea of faces that had gathered. Fights were already beginning to break out; @Morrigan seemed to be occupied with an unfamiliar man, and the hostess herself was brawling with none other than @Saga. The russet woman would have her paws full, then. Attention settled on @Ragna, who seemed to be lingering in wait. Magnus slowed to a halt alongside her, saying nothing yet but offering his presence as a silent reassurance. Or... a distraction. Could be either. Or both. All the while, he would watch his allies dance.

Of all the lions in Amaryllis, it's least likely that she will know what the fuck is going on. Sure, the Pit is for brawls and battles, but she's never seen this many gather without a fight breaking out immediately. It's luck that has her here to see it happen, the slow swell of individuals all at once, seemingly called together but for what she cannot ascertain. Each of them brings food, for gods sake, depositing it one by one in a pile despite them all smelling of different prides or no pride at all. As bizarre as it is she cannot look away, and it's this fixation that keeps her around long enough to see the first fight begin.

Understanding doesn't quite come to her that it's a scheduled tournament, but as multiple pairs begin to face-off down there, she gets an inkling of what's going on. Or at least how to join. Turning away and trotting off, the huntress makes quick work of rounding up four hare from a nearby warren. Ursula doesn't bother trying for better, sure that the more extravagant and substantial carcasses before hers' are more than enough to make up for her half-assed effort. Leaping downward along the walls, she descends into the colosseum, dark soil creasing beneath her paw-pads.

Gaze lingering on the proceeding spars, she takes note that they aren't intending to cause undue harm to their opponent, and relishes in a chance to test her skill without being subjected to injury. Wounds made border patrol difficult, after all. Nearing the growing pile, she experiences an impatience alike to Walpurgis, fully tempted to trade a hare for a haunch, and maybe one for a tusk or horn, or one for.. what the hell is that? Blinking, momentarily dumbfounded, she eyes the shark with twitching whiskers. It's tough to smell it around the other scents of prey and of lion, but she gets a whiff of salt.

Giving her shoulders a half-shake, she pries her eyes away and lays down her bounty near to the pile but not in it. At the end of the day those long rabbits are hers and she's ready to defend that right. Angling away, she skims the crowd for an opponent, limbs taking her only a short distance away before she begins to pace. It's an obvious path in front of her prize. The low angle of her neck and ears both tell of the challlenge she projects. Come and take it. Those dark lips of hers twitch, wanting to reveal her lips, preemptively beginning their flight away when she bites. Who it will be, she cannot yet determine, but she's ready.

Word around here spreads like wildfire over drought-ridden scrub. Odhgrimm now isn't even sure where he heard the news (it's not like he has any legit friends in Ama) but he has, and for some reason he decided to attend. Probably just morbid curiosity, his downfall if ever one could be named. At some point he decided that it didn't matter why, and so goes through the motions of securing a piece for the pot.

Hunting has never been and never will be a hobby or skill of his. He definitely should've made Uzma hunt something down for him, and it's obvious that he's frustrated he hadn't in how gnawed the carcass is that he brings in. Impatience often encouraged him to crush a windpipe rather than waiting for asphyxiation of prey, so his kills regularly have damage from him chomping through the vertebrae and esophagus.

Otherwise the piece of meat is in decent shape, though not as well handled as some of the other contributions. Oh well. Depositing his "entry fee", his attention is drawn to a loudmouth near to the pile. The maroon creature @Walpurgis would have made Odhgrimm believe it was a male if it hadn't been rattling off questions. Her mane throws him off, and perhaps it's the knowledge that she's female that makes him step toward her abruptly.

"You say that like it'll all be yours'," he muses, dark tail high behind him, crested over to the side. Wanting to stir the pot, emblazoned by the other spars going on around him, the Rike begins to circle her a bit, feigning nonchalance. "How about you fight me first for it," he proposes, a little smile curling his lips. Those round ears of his find a safe place in his mane, and the male drops his neck, frame falling into familiar battle preparations. "You win, you take my share. I, I take yours'. Loser gets nothing." Deal?

Erna was learning to tame the beast inside her, although that could be deemed a failure considering her recent actions against the enemy. But how could she miss the opportunity to inflict damage to the Sigrun? She was born for this, it was her ultimate duty.

Today she was sneaking around a strange hole in the ground. It quickly occurred to the Rike that this was the valley's arena. There were plenty of lions gathered for some bloodsport. It honestly taunted the bear-like female. Did she want to be down there, tearing and having the time of her life with... huh? Lavender eyes peek behind a group of rocks she had crouched by, landing on the chimera Sigrun that had mangled her hind limb. Immediately, her fire lits up. It's her, she thinks with a tunnel vision on the wench. She's fighting. The Jarl's orders restrain her, cuffing the bloodthirsty woman to her hideout. She knows that this will not end well for her. Eulalia might not be satisfied with just her injuries being her punishment this time around.

Therefore she only watches, observing the enemy battle out some uninteresting woman. She could at least use this to her advantage and study Saga's technique, to take mental notes for the next time they lock teeth.

Then her eyes scour the attendants. She notes a couple of other rats among them, but she doesn't expect to see her half-sibling participating in this game of theirs. Was he disobeying? How would Eulalia react if he saw Odhgrimm here, especially if the Sigrun launched a full-blown attack? She felt her muscles tense up. For now, she will wait and watch.

Ragna watched in silence, relaxed but lurking through the fights starting, from seeing her mother engage with the hostess of the tournament. If course she was on her mother's side, wishing her the victor against the claw woman @Arjana). But it wasnt the only fight, as many more started after them. With a mauve male @Roan going against a woman @Calypso. She didnt know both of them, so here her preference didn't lay in either of them. Lastly, a blueish man, of darker stripping went against a palomino stained in patches of black. Again she held no knowledge of who they were.

She wondered if she would be able to fight as well. She came here for that anyways. Eyes fell into her uncle's, seeing @Magnus sit by her side. She allowed him, keeping her stoic expression, but not hostile. "I wonder when will be my turn." She commented, whispering so only her uncle would be able to hear her.

The thrill and excitement she felt in her chest only made her more delighted when Saga teased back. The orange faced lady didn’t have trouble making friends nor enemies, but her lack of accountability over the past season had worried her that this tournament would be a flop. Yet in turn Amaryllis fashion a whole horde showed up from basically every pride. Even rogues and outlaw band members came for the entertainment. Though as her fight began she couldn’t really greet the guests who arrived late to watch. That was okay. She was more than happy to focus on the Lagoon Queen before her.

Allowing a sound to escape her throat that was a mix of a purr and a growl at the pain that ripped through her as she found Saga’s next attack taking effect. Feeling a bit of the wind knocked out of her chest and the weight of the other woman pulling her down to one side Arjana attempted to keep herself upright. Her legs slipped backwards to help with balance, but she was unable to keep herself up off her side due to Saga being a bit larger than her and the fact she was still recovering from being lazy over the winter so her muscles weren’t as strong as they could have been. Still as she found herself falling onto her side she attempted to find an advantage and attempted to kick out at Saga’s hips with her hind legs. She also attempted to take the lioness down with her as she tried to keep hold of their “hug”.

The fight was on. It had been a while since Roan had had just a spar with another lion. Every fight usually came with something at risk. This one, the prize was simply a pile of food and bragging rights, so let's have a little fun, shall we? His opponent started off simple, and perhaps that was a good thing. He didn't want to dive too hard into a fight that was not meant for serious reasons, nor did the mauve lion want to tire himself out too early in the rounds should the Hodari make it further than just the preliminaries.

As Calypso came charging at him, Roan's legs bent and his claws gripped the earth as he prepared for the collision. However, the beautifully colored woman ended up sliding to a stop just before the expected contact, instead aiming her left paw to scrape across his right side. The sudden stop had taken him off guard enough to allow the attack to meet his mark, leaving behind a neat collection of mild cuts at the front of his right side ribs. Such lacerations were easily lost within his thick fur, feeling just a quick sting of pain from the injury. Then again, this wasn't supposed to be anything serious, so it was probably best just to leave things with mild cuts and bruising.

Roan wouldn't be caught off guard twice, however, as his keen gaze then caught the teeth searching for his nose. The taller man managed to crane his head back just in time to only feel a brief snip of jaws grasping at the hairs on his chin. Now it was his turn. The Hodari would push his body forward with his left shoulder angled out in hopes to collide it with the center of the woman's chest. His full weight would not be used, however, only hoping to mildly wind her or cause bruising should the move land. Then the masked man's jaws would part in search of Calypso's left ear, attempting to snag it without causing much damage.

her attempt to topple her opponent is successful but arjana is clever - as she falls, she uses the wrapping of their arms around one another to tug the larger lioness down on top of her. as they go down in a tangle, her hind legs kick out, scoring gashes across saga's hip and she grimaces, a grunt of pain escaping her. it's somewhere between pain and pleasure, though, with such superficial wounds. for both of them, she imagines.

as they fall, saga attempts to dig her claws in just a little deeper and flashes her fangs out for her opponent's face. she aims for the lower side of her cheek, intent on missing her eye, but hoping that she might be able to snag hold of the woman's lower jaw and force a surrender if she's lucky.
