Some of you might be familiar with this sort of system, and others may not be, so here is a quick rundown:
- With the afterlife system in place, even after death your characters can continue to have a lasting impact on IC development and plots.
- We will be using a tiered system, where the upper tiers of the afterlife can be achieved by completing tasks and requirements prior to a character's death.
Our afterlife tiers are, from least to most powerful are: Ghosts, Spectres, Idols, and Guardians.
- To achieve each tier with your character, you will need to complete at least 5 of the listed afterlife requirements.
- It can be any mixture of any of the list items; but the "trade-related" tasks can only contribute to 2/5 requirements needed for that level. The other 3 must come from the generic list.
Take a look, and if you have questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out to a Staff member!
MULTIPLE FIGHTS PER THREAD
Characters are now able to engage in multiple spars in the same thread. This means that you do not need to start a new thread to have your character engage in a second spar, a sparring tournament, etc. We will be reviewing this as we move forward, and other changes are possible.
For now, all other fights will follow the original rule that only one fight can happen per character per thread.
DEFAULTING
Our goal is to make fights/defaults as unbiased as possible, and limit tense or uncomfortable situations for members and Staff. We also understand that some of our members are more comfortable and experienced with fighting, while others are more new to it. Please remember to read over the fight page of the guidebook, here, before engaging in any on-site fights.
Editing your post without Staff approval, any evidence of dice tampering, and not reaching the 100-word minimum for fight posts will still be considered grounds for instant disqualification and defaulting a fight.
Powerplay or godmodding: while it is a dice-controlled system, you still have to use attempt words (try, attempt, aim, etc.) and allow your opponent to ultimately choose the location and severity of damage. Moving forward, we will be dividing PP/GM into two categories: minor and major.
- Minor PP/GM is considered to be human error or small mistakes that could happen to any of us. This includes making small assumptions about the other character's movements, assuming where damage lands without using the appropriate "attempt" words, etc. In these circumstances, the character performing the PP/GM will lose the entirety of their dice for that round of the fight, and the fight will continue.
- Major PP/GM is considered to be repeated (2+ times) or extreme instances that are not acceptable. This includes not taking appropriate damage, controlling significant aspects of their opponent's movements/attack/damage, lack of realism, etc. In these circumstances, the fight will instantly default and the PP/GM character will lose automatically.
We are experimenting with these changes in hopes of avoiding and biased moving forward. Because the system is controlled by dice and is not Staff-mediated, you must inform a Staff member if you see a rule being broken.
If we find that these new changes are being abused, all things will revert back to instant disqualifications and defaults. Repetitive and consistent breaking of fight rules will also be met with a site warning, if no efforts are made to remedy mistakes or rule-breaking.
If you have questions on fights, writing fight posts, or anything else, Staff is always here to help you! Please just ask us! There is also a fight guide in the works, so that everyone has access to more learning resources.
Native characters to Amaryllis will be able to:
- Explain Maua, Maua’s lore, and the spiritual standpoint they share.
- Have a higher chance of Maua coming into their threads.
- Can pass through the fog without a problem, can explain it to others.
- Get hints about undiscovered lands and the rest of the map.
- And more fun/secret things!
Native Pride: They also have the option of being auto-placed in the incoming native pride (which @Squid will be introducing as a prize from the posting raffle). Characters who choose to do this will be immune to claiming, even if the pride isn't opened yet, and will receive a special tag so that their status is known.
After creating a Native character, Staff will reach out to you and share all necessary information that you need, including some more guidelines and a special tag in Discord, if you're in there with us! We hope you guys enjoy this fun twist!
A small, new rule for pride leaders moving forward: if you receive a strike for failing a portion of your pride requirements (failing to update history, pride news, stats) you will have 48 hours to fix the error.
Failing to do so will result in auto-disbanding of the pride.
If you currently have a strike on your pride that you have not fixed it yet, please do so, as this rule is effective immediately.
*Threads that are not pending in Trade Updates as of this update will need to follow this new rule.*
