She had been lying low - Keeping out of trouble to the best of her ability as well as scouring the lands of Amaryllis for their lost son. Jewel knew that her eldest boys could care for themselves, though it still worried her when they vanished. Starlight was another matter entirely - he had gone missing in his youth much like her daughter and spitfire. It tugged the heartstrings of the dark woman, but she forced herself to continue on. This morning dawned bright, cold - but bright. The lioness knew the subtle stirrings and shifting of her abdomen like it was second nature. She smiled, chuffing, calling to @Vysemala before she would shift, looking to find a comfortable position in the makeshift home she and her mate had made. Jewel was well familiar with the pain of childbirth - and though she wasn't exactly pleased by it, it didn't scare her as it once had. They came quickly - her two small children. Jewel was pleased that it was a small litter again - though she loved all of her children, having more than two to chase around was daunting. The first to arrive was a small ebony child with shaded hips, and the familiar twin tails of her parents lineage. Jewel wondered at the unique pale marking above her eye, but hoped that it wouldn't affect how she saw the world. Though - the similarities of the right eye marking and her own missing right eye weren't lost on the ebon woman. Second came another, a son and she smiled as he too had the same twin tails of his mothers. Jewel worked to clean the pair, gently ushering them close to her warm underbelly. It had her wondering if perhaps they should look for somewhere to go - where the winter wouldn't be so harsh for the newborn babes. For the first time, she did regret leaving the Cove - only due to the fact that they no longer had a home for the tiny new cubs. [OOC: Note - leaving out the desc of the second baboo as we've not picked a player officially - need to reach out. because Tabs sucks and rip.] |

Vee had long ago imagined it would never be possible to have her own biological children. And now twice over a grand gift had been granted- and through some miracle Vysemala was able to play both parts. To carry their first children and now given the chance to watch @Jewel's body bloom, to see the experienced mother take care of herself with such expertise. Vysemala was no less anxious when it wasn't her carrying their children. She felt powerless, compelled to help her wife at each turn even when Jewel didn't need it. One day at last the waiting, the wondering, was over. She urged herself on flighted feet to Jewel's voice, guiding her way through their falls oasis home nearer and nearer. Scents grew strong causing Vee's heart to flutter anxiously. She could not wait to see their children at last. She'd waiting long enough. Her brown striped visage peered forwards. At immediate onset she was confused... it was just Jewel? No. There were two bundles at her side, far more camouflaged at her side than any of her other children. Dark little joys... Vee's steps quickened. Two flickering tails on each child. Beautifully stunning little creatures that they were Vysemala's first bit of physical attention turned first and foremost to Jewel. To plant a loving kiss on top of her forehead and brush her cheek along her mate's crown. My love. My family. |
@Vysemala arrived in time to see their children and she smiled up at her mate, her tails twining around those of her caramel hued wife. "We might have our paws less full this time.." She chuckled, adjusting her position just enough to allow a better view of the two newborns. "A daughter - to terrorize her brothers." Jewel snickered, knowing full well that a single daughter in the swarm of males she and her wife had was the exact opposite of "easy". The ebon woman rumbled a purr, gently working her fangs over her mates hide, trying to scratch the locations she knew to be itchy, enjoying the time they spent together. Peaceful moments like this were often few and far between - closer together now that neither of them were required for duties. but still, there was never nothing that needed done. Which only meant she would cherish these moments for a longer time. |
Less full? Vysemala said in disbelief- her striped features pulled away from her mate's and turned to admire the children at her side. I don't believe for a second any daughter of yours to be less a handful than her brothers. If not more of one. Truthfully Vee hoped that little girl took after Jewel, hoped that that little creature inherited all of her mother's spunk and power. Vysemala leaned forwards to her daughter and lightly kissed the top of her dark skull. May she give the world hell and may she always know the love she deserves to have. And this little one- Vee thought as she looked to the other dark shadow son. She placed the same gentle kiss over his small skull. Brown spots peppered in the dark black that cloaked him. As the small mother pulled herself back away she was smiling, their scents still thick in her nose. I bet he'll be a bright and smart. |
"Let's hope she's not as bad as I was when I was young." Jewel chuckled, her head tilting as she attempted to bunt her skull against her mates shoulder with a purr. "I was everywhere and anywhere.. I'm pretty sure that I turned my mother grey well before her time." She laughed softly, so as not to disturb the youths at her belly. "I'm sure we will both be chasing them across the realm." She flicked her tails at her mates hide, ears tilting towards the chocolate female. "Perhaps we'll get lucky and she will irritate her brothers." Jewel obviously wanted her cubs to all get along - but found it amusing that there was a single female in the swarm of males. Perhaps the girl would have more eyes than her mother had for her. |
