+5 Study the plant life of a neutral territory Day by day she became more familiar with this place they called home. Calypso knew it was likely to be a temporary place, but the explorations did a lot to distract her. It was hard for the peach female to be still - quiet moments felt like wasted moments. In her youth it was hammered in to her to always be busy - hunting or gathering or somehow serving her pride - and it was a habit she found hard to shed. So she wandered. Up and down the shore. Today to the jagged rocks and the trapped pools of water, curious about what she might find. Oftentimes a trapped fish would make an easy meal, or snack at least, and if not then perhaps some flat pieces of kelp or seaweed with which to try for bandaging. As she arrived at the pools she forced herself to be still for a moment. Moments of practice would give her a more calm mind and so she sat with eyes closed, the twitch of her tail the only indication that she was not entirely at ease. @cloudynight |

Lotus lurked through the tides, eyes locked down as she looked for something to eat. Being a nomadic lady meant the search for food was constant, restless as no one would do that for her. And in silence she moved around, ears and eyes in high alert. She was much better from her injuries but she still didn't want to get herself more and without sigh of Envy and the rest she couldn't risk any more wounds.
She tried to be quiet, to make no sounds to betray her position. And with the wet sand around the pools she covered herself to try hiding her scent. She wasn't going to risk it. And looking into a pool she lurked for any trapped fish of crabs. Not noticing the other lurker. @Calypso
With her eyes closed she was more tuned in to her surroundings and it didn’t take long for her to realize she was not alone. Storm blue eyes snapped open and settled on the unfamiliar form with a glimmer of curiosity. By all appearances she was not a pride lion, though far be it from Calypso to make an assumption so readily. “I saw a fish in d’at one,” she gestured towards one of the pools, her accent thick in the morning air. If it was good she needed then perhaps the information would be useful. |
Lotus heart almost went to an stop when a voice reached her pointed ears, making her freeze for a few seconds. She wasn't expecting someone finding her, and a lot of thoughts and possibilities crowed her mind. She of course wanted to simply vanish and go away, but she saw in a dangerous place to do so. The rocks were slippery and falling could cause injuries, and that being a loner could be fatal in the long term. So she had no other choice but stay and confront anything the other female could do to her.
But nothing but an advice came from them. "Oh...I see." She answered as she finally got the bravery to look at who owned the voice. She felt a bit suspicious. Why would she tell her that? What did she wanted? She couldn't tell at all. Slowly she looked into the pool, seeing movement there. "I see something..."
@Calypso
It seemed that she had startled the unfamiliar female, though it definitely had not been her intent. Curious, how on edge she seemed -- Calypso reminded herself that the life of a rogue was not always an easy one. The ones who lived here were perhaps not always friendly; she had met her fair share of those type, after all. In an attempt to appear less threatening she tried on a soft smile. It felt strange and unusual for her but she maintained it nonetheless and tried to be encouraging. "Should make a good bite if ye be hungry. The girl had not immediately went in to fishing mode and she wondered if she had ever caught a fish before. "Will no' be too hard to catch in d'at pool." @Lotus |
With now her attention taken by the fish, and he recently awaken hunger, she started to think in an strategy to get it out. Wind moving her long hairs, pointed ears switching from time to time, still in alert for any incoming attack. And she couldn't know of @Calypso didn't have a hidden plant to pounce into her, waited for her to turn her back. But being this hungry was fooling her common sense, her weariness.
"And are you going to hunt one too?... I mean.. i don't know." She sighed taking note of her stupid answer to the situation. "I am Lotus Black...and you?' Voice held some hesitation, but if anything happened she could always change her name and use this to fool potential attackers.
The child seemed uneasy, and Calypso was not sure how to make herself seem less threatening. Perhaps offering help? "I am no' hungry, but if ye need help I cen help ye." The woman yawned, but did not move from her spot, not wanting to frighten the other. "It takes some patience. Ye wait until it comes close enough, and d'en strike with yer claws." It would be good for @Lotus to try first, but Calypso was not opposed to helping. "If ye miss I cen show ye?" |
