The pride had enough members now that she thought a group hunt was in order. It has been many moons since she had last hunted in anything other than a duo, but with Wolfbron it had almost been overkill with the amount hunters that typically showed. They had certainly never gone hungry, that was for sure, but she was hopeful getting everyone together would help them all bond. They were family now, after all, and Rani was the mother attempting to coax her children into a respectful friendship. Or something. Two gazelles had wandered to their oasis for a desperate drink, and Rani was keen on making sure they never left. Unless it was in her belly. |

Calamity crept up to @Aarani ‘s side. Their ears were flicked back in anticipation of the hunt ahead. In truth, calamity may not be the best hunter, but they sure are keen! Plus, calamity did like a group hunt. Sure, out there in meant he’d have to fight for some of the scraps afterwards. But the oasis is different, he knew that. He would starve or go hungry tonight.
“What’s the plan, sovereign?” He whispered up to Aarani. He knew her name but ever since joining had stuck to simply calling her sovereign. Not to be mocking. But rather, as a sigh of his highest respect for her.

She'd kept mostly to herself since deciding to stay under the new ruler. Who was she supposed to talk to anyway when she didn't know anyone? But Nadya still didn't wish to be a burden, so when the prospect of a hunt was presented, the scarred woman didn't waste time to meeting the duo. A very spotted male stood near the maned woman who had fought for these lands. Nadya still didn't know her name, but neither did she know her own, so who cared. With no sign of Valhalla, and no knowledge of his death, the Nikolov was growing more convinced that he would never return. It was time to just move on and figure out life for herself, as little as she knew of it. Hunting might be a good way to get into a routine, maybe even jog some memories. She'd say nothing, but offered a friendly nod of her head to the pair before simply stopping and waiting for direction.
3 years, no bonus At last, Seneca feels like himself again. He has spent his time recovering, as demanded by those around him, and while it has been undeniably boring, he supposes it is better than having re-injured himself. He slips quietly through the territory in the direction of the gathering pride, his cool gaze sweeping over the faces that have collected around @Aarani. Seneca himself meanders up to the free side of their queen, his tail flicking subconsciously against his ankles as his orange stare moves towards the prey she has found, ears twisting forward with an idle sense of curiosity. |

Iofiel had heard no call for a hunt but had merely stumbled upon the gathering of lions. Of course he had no idea it was a hunt at first. Instead he was trying to figure out how much trouble he was in for showing up so late. He had been out and looking for things to add to the garden so perhaps he could be excused. Of course he would not ask for this and would accept any punishment that was seen as necessary.
The large lion hung back from the rest of the gathering and waited to see what was to be said and done. He had managed to show his face at least even if everyone else had already been present and seemed to know exactly what was happening.
After a good drink and a long rest and a snack or two, his head had begun feeling much better. Enough that a day spent exploring didn't sound like too daunting a task. Although, it seemed that plan might be interrupted.
The gathering crowd caught his attention before the reason for it, but once he spotted the prey creatures he figured it out quick enough. There was a moment spent considering options - continue his wanderings or actually make an effort to be useful. Hm. Well, the latter generally provided a pretty good distraction from his own thoughts, so why not, right? He didn't necessarily like hunting, but he was competent enough at it to keep himself fed when on his own. He could chase without issues, but he didn't like the killing, there was always a lingering fear that his dinner would literally come back to haunt him, and nobody needed to go through life with a judgmental antelope ghost popping up in the most unexpected places. Again.
Turned out antelope stuck to their herd and territory even after death. Who knew?
He shook the thoughts from his head and slipped in among the group with a friendly grin on his face, settling in to wait for instructions.

The hunting had been successful, fortunately. Although it wasn't terribly surprising considering the size of the prey they had been going after, but.. well, at least everyone had gotten together and had a good ole time or something. Truth be told, she was a smidgen embarrassed to have called them together for something so trivial. Was she going to tell anyone that? Absolutely not.
"Good job, everyone, and thank you for coming today. Rest well." Rani wanted to make sure each of her members were properly thanked for their work, and so she stayed behind until each one of them left. exit |
For his part, Haros helped to herd the creatures to the waiting jaws, and claws, of those who dealt the final blows. Helped to ease the guilt and fear of being haunted if he wasn't the one actually taking the life.
By the time everything was said and done, he couldn't help the chuckle as he took his leave, passing by Aarani. "Worth it to see so many grown adults chasing hares." He didn't mean that in any kind of insulting way, it was genuinely, innocently, entertaining to witness such a sight. It reminded him of hunting lessons with his siblings, although they were a lot smaller at the time. Triggered a twist of nostalgia and he wondered where they'd all gone off to, or if he'd ever see any of them again.

Perhaps next time they’d get a prey more suiting to their skills, and then it would seem like a fairer hunt.
