Ulla was pulled along with the jerk of Nadia's head. Her back legs skidded across as she felt blood beading against the dark woman's fangs. With her tail still slashing against the air, Ulla tried to keep her composure from breaking. As Nadia's right paw came down, Ulla tilted her head to the left, receiving a blow below her cheek. Despite the pain, the cuts were superficial - something else was causing everything else Ulla was feeling. Finally, Ulla attempted to seal her fangs into Nadia's right wrist. With her right paw, she attempted to hold onto Nadia's left cheek in hopes of keeping her balance.

A few agonizingly long minutes crawl by while they wait to determine who will be crowned victorious. At this point the wounds that she has acquired are stinging and the tiredness from battle has begun to seep into her bones. But when it has become clear that she is victorious she raises her head high, allowing her gaze to move from @Úlla to those gathered before resting back on her challenger once more. "You fought brilliantly Úlla and for that I am grateful to have faced you as an adversary.. If you would like to stay here within the Hollows I will appoint you as my Sovereign. And to those who would still like to remain here I will gladly have you." She glances around her then before her gaze would fall upon @Elijah - "Elijah if I could request your services once more I would be grateful.. and Ulla as well please." She did not know if he would be remaining within the Hollows but if she could use his expertise and send him with a parting gift she would gladly do so. "To any who wish to receive a rank you know the deal around here. Challenge for it and allow Vellen to choose who is worthy." She would wait for only a few moments longer to see whether Ulla would accept her offer and then afterwards would move to seek the help of Elijah, at least to mend herself so she could truly take the helm as Queen without the additional worry of her wounds becoming infected.

Ulla was feeling the fatigue turning into pain again. She was certain Nadia bit something she missed before - something that adrenaline kept back until after the fight. There wasn't disappointment in the northern woman for losing. As she knew there'd be no uprising amongst the lions here. There was no one here except a few of them - everyone scattered the moment Obsidian Hollow disbanded. They would have to start from scratch. So, she was glad that Nadia gave her the position of Sovereign. Yes, I would like that. Ulla's words came out softer than they were in the beginning. Vellen was quiet - satiated by the victory of the dark woman and of the blood that was spilled. If Magnus was here, Ulla was sure he'd be proud. And with that, the new Sovereign of Obsidian Hollow left, for the old den she had once inhabited. [exit]

Ragna watched the fight in silence, eyes of blue resting into each fighter. Both lioness she knew, Magnus' wife and her aunt @Úlla . Her expression is cold, calm as it always could be found. Only in battle she held a more expressive demeanor but today there was no reason to be any different. Her posture was natural, serene as she lied on her haunch with her head pointed at the two females fighting for the crown of the Hollows, and she wondered who would come as the victor. She wished to stay regardless of who won. Both were respectable women into Ragna's eyes. Both were worth to be followed. Her mother @Saga and a few more joined to watch, she gave them a soft smile before returning her gaze to the match.

Finishing the fight, @Nadia was the winner. And she nodded to both fighter, both doing awesome and both were equally capable of ruling. And Nadia seemed to share the though as she gave Ulla the sovereign role. "Ill stay." She said calmly. And now that she was fine, she would in a few days challenge for a rank of her own. It was time to rise. She rose to her paws and decided to return to the borders to check them as she has been doing, and like that she left without much say. Exit

an ear tips in brigid’s direction as she joins him. his muzzle, too, turns towards her — happy to use her blindness to his advantage to scour her features for any inkling of what she thought about this. there’s a clear sense of displeasure, though he isn’t sure from what — him, maybe? or maybe just from these dark, drab tunnels in general. attention flicks back as the fight finishes up with magnus’ wife the winner of…. whatever they’d been fighting for. probably this fucking hole in the ground, if he knew these sigruns. your jarl has lost, he says to @Brigid, knowing that she cannot see the fight nor its victor. it seems as though they’ll both stay, though, and lead together. hmmm. what of magnus, then? did he finally get tired of living in the dark? hákon snorts, unamused, as his attention shifts back to brigid — curious to see if she, too, will be staying.

it was a significant moment for the sigrun child, as she sat there watching as two formidable woman vied for the crown of the hollows. it stirred something within her chest -- that feeling of desire that had come and gone through cubhood as she watched from the sidelines, just another cub amongst a crowd of warriors. but now? now, things were starting to feel more attainable, and they were starting to feel more real. it was almost as if they hovered there, just beyond her grasp, getting closer and closer with each passing day.

it was with a joyous smile that voluspa watched her mother reign victorious, albeit the fact that it was hardly a surprise -- ulla had fought just as well, however, and so it made sense when nadia offered her the position as sovereign at her side. it would be odd not to have magnus up there upon the throne, but in the grand scheme of it all, titles meant little for the sigrun -- their family was still the same, unbroken and unbent by these new and evolving changes. "back to the caves we go," the girl huffed under her breath, casting a quick glance at the others before eventually rising to her feet. other plans were circulating amongst the clan, but for now, the hollows was their stronghold, and voluspa was more than happy to return to it, especially with her mother at the helm. and so, without wasting another moment, voluspa would look to trot after the retreating shape of the queens, hoping to steal a glance at both of their new scars as she did. exit.

the fight winds down and nadia keeps her crown. a needless show of violence, he thinks ( and not for the first time ); why did they need to fight amongst themselves? @Úlla , especially, who was already battered and bruised from her last pride challenge. it just seemed so... senseless. pointless. yet another reminder that he did not belong here with these lions: they might be a family, but he would never fit in. his mantra of if not now, then maybe later and maybe, maybe, maybe could only get him so far. and he was tired of waiting, of being a burden. he looks to @Nadia as she addresses him — a favor on her tongue, and one that he wholly expects. it rankles ( as it often does ), but it feels... freeing, almost. one last time, he tells himself, and then he is done here. because... he wanted more. before following after the two newly-christened queens, he would make a detour to his den — intent on rousing wisteria and grabbing the supplies he'd need.

The two women didn't seem to hold anything back as they both fought ferociously, inflicting wounds upon one another despite their familial status. Rasmus watched eagerly as it ensued, waiting to see who would be crowned the victor. And when it was clear that his mother was victorious he could not help but smirk as he glanced towards his siblings, "See? I told you she would win. Looks like we get to stay here a little bit longer." He mused then, his eyes watching both women with awe. It was clear that his family was obviously the strongest in the land, despite what others may think no one could convince Rasmus otherwise. The almost yearling rose then, making his way back through the dark caverns with a smug smile on his face.

Her siblings came trailing in like a line of ants marching their destined trail, Rasmus already making bets that Nadia would reign victorious. Hrefna shot him a sharp glance but said nothing, trying to decide if it was alright to make bets on--as Voluspa said--Vellen's will. Let Mama win. Let her win, and I will let Pabbi choose a husband for me as you wish. The words echoed within the caverns of her mind despite herself, drifting into the oblivion of her consciousness. They were thoughts, and try as Hrefna might, she could not erase thoughts.
Her eyes danced to follow the violent swaying and slashing of the Sigrún lionesses as they threw themselves at one another, each performing their well-practiced moves of war in an effort to succeed. Their jarl said it was only to prove Nadia's strength, but she could not imagine that Ulla did not want to be their sovereign. Why would anyone put up with the gashing and slashing if not for the attainment of something in the end, she wondered?
"Oh," she gasped at a particularly bad strike to Nadia's flesh, standing to her paws unwillingly. This was as far as it went. The battle reached a natural conclusion, Nadia's victorious gaze causing her heart to leap within her chest. She did not think of her part of the deal she had just made--not at that moment when her littermates stirred with excitement and she could practically feel the glory of being a royal again.
"Hail Sigrún! Hail Mama!" She shouted proudly over the crowd, immediately walking to follow the others.
