She still felt...odd in her skin here, like a second pelt had been flattened over her own. Sarabi felt like an imposter, and maybe she was! Not that it was anyone's business, not even her own.

But, feeling strange about being in a new pride aside, the berry still needed to eat and when an opportunity presented itself she wasn't one to turn it down.

The impala looked tired and weak, an easy target.

Slinking low to the ground, the sand muted Sarabi's pawsteps as she moved closer to get a better look. Her pelt may not be the best camouflage against golden sand but from the weary look of the impala that wouldn't be too much of an issue. Besides, depending on the prey it mattered more how one moved than how well one blended.

Settling onto her belly, the blush furred lioness waited for the time to strike.

The desert offered its advantages. Though Onyxia had been ever-used to the bitter chill of the north and the babbling of the Brook threading through her homeland like a silvery vein, there was something enticing about the novelty and exoticness of the Oasis. And while she was still information-gathering and poised to begin her expeditions to the other prides, Aquila had been busy at work recruiting; and the fruits of his effort lay before her now, in the form of a lioness who had also caught onto the impala's scent.

Clearly the much more refined hunter, Onyxia fell in beside @Sarabi, content to be the strawberry woman's shadow as they encroached upon the fatigued impala. She offered no greeting more than a firm nod of her head, not wanting to frighten the creature deeper into the desert and risk its escape. The time for proper introduction could be made later - for now, there was nothing more bonding between two lionesses than the thrill of the hunt.

Iofiel knew well the look that the impala wore. Endless days seeking out water during prey migration had him looking the same way in his youth. He wasn't already counting the impala out though. Tired, though one might be, when back in a corner a surge of adrenaline could produce unexpected results. So the imapla might look forlorn now but once it knew it was on the menu some strength might return yet.

In silence the pale male approached the two lionesses whom were also watching the impala. He said nothing and hung back so as not to get in the way. He waited for instructions to be given like the good plebe that he was. Hunting wasn't his forte but he had grown up in the desert and knew that every body was needed to pull their weight so that they could all survive.

And it would seem to have gained an audience, three other Oasis members already crouched and ready to strike. The colossal would find himself coming to Iofiel's right side, allowing for his limbs to bend so that he were crouching low to the sandy earth below. Golden eyes would narrow upon their prey, nostrils flaring and his maw slightly agape to taste the air. His muscles would tense and tail tip would flicker in anticipated. He would await for the single before he would spring into action. Now did he want to do the takedown or did he want to do the chasing toward the one doing the takedown was the real question...

It was strange to approach the hunting party while he felt the sand and loose ground below his paws. All his life he had known and practiced hunts within the forest, maybe the fields. The sands of the desert were not a place he'd ever actively tried to hunt upon. But as he lived out here, sequestered from the most familiar parts of his world, he had begun to see the opportunity out here. It was sparse, but not just in resources but competition. The vultures overhead would wait their turn- there was not another species out here Aquila could see that might cause them trouble as they preyed upon the near dead Impala...

The Sovereign drew up alongside the others, a glance give over to the least familiar face among them. Sarabi. Let this be their first introduction then... actions were louder than words anyways.

It was a decently sized kill. Aquila was huffing a little at the end of it all as he stood beside the downed prey, the tip of his tongue pressing up against the backs of his teeth with each surge of hot air out. His feet cascaded forwards as he circled around the kill, looking down from it and then up and around to the faces who had gathered. Aquila was smiling, his silver eyes warm and proud over each and every one of them. Eat ourselves silly and then pass out for a nap? He suggested. They deserved an afternoon like that, one free of worry and free of other commitments. A chance to relax, fill their bellies into stupor.

With almost all of the Oasis lions answering the call to hunt, Onyxia was pleasantly surprised with how much ease they were able to bring down the impala, especially given the unfamiliarity of this new land. Navigating the sands was difficult compared to the familiar ravine of the Brook, but they'd been blessed with a prey that seemed to struggle just as much, and hindered by fear and first, it fell easily to their claws. Onyxia's lips curled into a smile at the King's suggestion, nodding gleefully at the idea of filling her belly and then lounging in the sun. If the Oasis was known for anything, it was certainly known for its warmth and sunbathing; she could hardly ever find such a clear sky in the far north where the Brook lay. Here, it felt as if it were burning into her back ceaselessly.

There was a larger turnout this time. But then the pride had grown since he had foolishly led them after an elephant. So luckily someone else had taken up the mantle to lead this hunt. An impala was a much more likely candidate for them to manage. Someone else had better sense of what to track. But then Iofiel had never claimed himself to be a hunter. He didn't know tracks. Flora was his specialty, not fauna.

The impala fell and Iofiel's lips moved in silent prayer. He thanked the creature for giving up its life for them. It was a ritual he did every time a hunt commenced. He was determined to try to keep the Rwh at bay.

Aquila suggested they fill their bellies and then nap. Iofiel didn't usually partake of the feasting at a hunt but this felt like a command to him. So he waited for everyone to take what they wanted before he took a small piece from the leftovers and went to find shade beneath the trees surrounding the water in which to eat it and rest.
