As the days passed she grew more and more restless within the confines of the Jungle. No longer was it a place of promise; the lack of activity within its perimeters frustrated her, especially with Kimagure and Avreya gone. She had given them a chance, but Firnen was.... dull. And so she slipped away, opting not to speak with the ones that inherited the throne. After all, she only knew Ismae by name and face, and Roan was barely an acquaintance; she had no obligation to them. The handover had been the perfect opportunity to leave. So it was time now to secure herself another home - a challenge, something meaty to sink her fangs into. She deserved better than this, and by hell she was going to get it. The Passage was a place she was familiar with, but not something she'd had to utilise herself - she'd waltzed straight up to the Rainforest borders all those months ago. So this? This was something new. Finally.

Fall
Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

She'd be the first to admit that she wasn't sure how to go about doing this whole recruiting thing. Sure, she liked to think she had a way with words, but did she have enough of one to get others to come join the cove? Time to go find out, now that she'd been given the opportunity to actually be of use to the pride.
She spotted a darkly colored woman in the distance and decided to make her way over. It would be her first attempt, and she quickly settled a vaguely welcoming look on her features. "Yo," she said as she approached. "Looking for a place to stay, or just passing through?"
@Petra

Genya took to the passage again a few days after her unsuccessful trip back. She was ready to be turned down, but that didn't stop her from making her rounds as the newly anointed noble of the lagoon. She followed some fresh tracks before losing them, but then found a new set and followed those. Finally on her third try, she saw a pair of lionesses. There was one whose color resembled the ground underneath and another, a rogue, whose coat was lilac. Genya's lips curled into a smile as she approached both women. I'm Genya of Scilla Lagoon she said with her head held high. We have plenty of open ranks and dens for you to choose. That ought to entice most lions. @Petra @Arcania ♔

The first one to approach her - a woman - had a light and peppy air about her. Ugh. The vernacular, too, was.... interesting. "Yo?" Petra mirrored, not bothering to keep her tone vacant of any sort of judgement. Eyes narrowed, brow arching as she scanned @Arcania ♔ up and down. "A place to stay." Attention would flit over to @Genya as she approached, scrutinizing her with the same sort of intensity as she did the Caladan woman. "Well, isn't this quite the welcoming party?" The lilac woman drawled. "Open ranks interest me. Would you tell me more of your Lagoon?" She glanced back to the russet lioness. "And you? What pride do you represent?"

The queen would make her way towards the gathering, noting @Arcania ♔ and @Genya before her gaze turned towards @Petra. The colossal would approach the women before she gave the Scillan a silent stare, a tilt of her skull in greeting. "Sangria - Leader of Firnen Rainforest. We have ranks open as well - if you're into carving a place out for yourself with your own claws and fangs." The female wondered if Arcania knew of Seraphiel - as Hecuba and Drakon had spoken of him.. and the woman scented strongly of Caladan. "The rainforest values strength - of will, or of claw. The ranks are all open for the taking, if you can take it and defend it with your own flesh and blood then it's yours." She would wait for the rest of her 'shpeal' of course until she had a better idea of if the woman would go to Scilla or Caladan instead. |

Yet another day and another trip to the passage. Who she would see today was a mystery but as she approached a group her grey gaze scanned the faces. Two unknowns and @Genya. Oh wait three unknowns, though she had seen both @Arcania ♔ and @Sangria briefly before. Head nodding to each in greeting she heard just enough to know she wasn’t too late to possibly recruit @Petra. So with a smile on her face she came near. “Hello ladies pleasant day.” Her voice was polite and respectful as she greeted them all as a whole unit.
“I am Arjana Huntsong. Gentry of Wolfbron Bluffs. If you are seeking a home filled with strong fighters, caring hand skilled healers and hunters that keep the cache full the Bluffs might fit you well. We are a pride of strong survivors of many backgrounds.” She explained to the rogue taking care to try to not mislead her. The Bluffs where great but not for the faint of heart. So she wanted to make sure that was known.

There were others that came and spoke their piece before Arcania could reply, and she hid her disgruntlement behind the welcoming façade as well. She recognized the woman who spoke of the Rainforest as the one who had fought alongside Seraphiel against that king of the lagoon, and she filed that information away for later.
"I am a noble of Caladan Cove, a pride on the beach," she replied when her turn finally came around again. "We too have some open ranks, to be challenged for or earned. Pull your weight, don't claim out from under allies or start trouble with them. You're free to leave if you find you don't like it there, and if someone wants out of a non-allied pride well, we can help them with that," she concluded. If there was one thing she knew about the massive Heir, it was that he would be one of the first on the front lines for that particular fight.

@Genya would stay quiet, and any interest that Petra had in the Lagoon - and its potential - would wane almost immediately. Another woman ventured forth; not a face she recognized, though her scent was one that she knew well. "How times change," the lioness rumbled, lip curling to reveal a pearly fang as she regarded @Sangria with curiousity. "I lived there before, under both your predecessor and his before him. It didn't suit me." Perhaps in the beginning it did, but it soon soured. @Arjana was next, and.... well, the Bluffs sounded decent enough in theory, but the pitch didn't resonate with her. Head would then turn to @Arcania ♔, expression passive as the redhead spoke. While none of them sounded amazing, her preference would ultimately sway towards the Cove. Petra gave the rest of the women gathered a brief nod of acknowledgement before turning to focus on the Caladan Noble. "Thank you, Lady Arcania. I appreciate the assurance that I would keep my autonomy." It made things easier if she wanted to slip out. Less messy. "I shall come with you." Pleased that she'd managed to wrap things up here, she would glance around at the other lionesses for a brief moment before tagging alongside the red-pelted Noble as they made their exit.

A nod would be given to @Petra as she chose to go with another. The Firnen woman would turn, and step away, taking her leave of those gathered. She had - after all - only come to further the membership of the Rainforest...Knowing that she was better to go to another area of the passage to try to recruit had her moving off in another direction. It didn't bother her - she would have plenty of opportunities in the future. Sangria made a mental note to go see the woman later - to ask her questions of the prior rulers of the rainforest. She was.. after all - curious about such things. //Exit// |

Arcania grinned, pleased that she'd managed to sway the woman her way. She wouldn't say it aloud in such mixed company, but it seemed to her that the Bluffs were pure chaos and nothing else. Interesting enough for one such as herself, but for others... perhaps not so much. And well, seemed she'd already been in the rainforest and hadn't cared for it. That really only left Arcania's offer unless she wanted to refuse them all, which the X'uekai woman wouldn't have been surprised by.
"Right this way then," she said, turning and leading back the way she had come.
