September Y13
Fall
Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

Amaryllis' discovered prides
slept far too long

Nero was annoyed, really. His mother had been sleeping for far too long and no amount of tugging on her ears or biting her tail would wake her, strangely enough. The tiny cub had wandered here and there in the hope that she would wake and realize he was absent, but not even that seemed to work! Disgruntled, Nero moved to his fallen mother's face and began mewling, pawing at her cheek. "Mama, up. Hungwee, Mama." The toddler had no concept of death and so he simply continued his mewling, pathetically gumming at her ears and doing his best to make a fuss. SOMEONE would hear him, he was certain, and from there he could enlist their help to wake his lazy mother. "Hewwwooooooo!" he called into the air, his head barely poking above the grasses. "Helps Neewroh!" Someone? Anyone?
Alizabeth hadn't been expecting to come across this type of scene. It was something seen in nightmares and the white woman couldn't help but feel her heart sink and her stomach twist. Pink eyes widened, slowly approaching as the child began to wail and call out for another. Ears press down, head lowering as her small form approached the tiny child, "Hello, sweetpea. I'm here...come here, I can help keep you warm." She crooned, motioning him closer with a paw. Alizabeth didn't want to outright approach in case it spooked him, it was better to let him come to her.

He hadn't meant to come across this truly. He had only been chasing - straggling among the plains to canter the hare that had been damning him from the sidelines. It's rather uncanny...unfortunate really the scene that comes across his path as the lilac brood aims to take his lunch home. Yet - it doesn't seem as if that is what would be happening now. He is cautious - standing afar for a brief moment as crimson dotts his chin. Oh dear...It is an in an instant that the paladins heart sinks upon the scene before them. Poor child. He didn't understand - yet was far too young to have it explained. Mommys just sleeping. Yes that would be reassuring, but not the truth.  He is slow his movements determined and careful as he approaches to stand next to @Alizabeth - staring gently down at the boy before flickering his gaze to the woman. It's not like he needed the food anyways - the Bluffs had plenty stock. "Here buddy." it is an offer that is not hostile and rather welcoming. "It's fresh. All for you." lowering upon his haunches Sole would rest gently among the ground to make his towering figure seem less...frightening. "I'm Sole. What's your name?" |

Ah, yes! Good! His rallying cries had earned him the attention of adults, one of which reminded him.. of himself, actually! He stared up at her with crimson eyes, noting the subtle differences in their appearance but overall appreciative she had dressed up like him. The lady mentioned something about keeping him warm and he pouted, shaking his head. "No cold, HUNGWEE. Mama wakey, Nero gets foods." He could always try to visit the milk bar without his mother's consciousness, but that just felt rude.
You know what else was rude? The hunk of meat dropped on the ground. He looked at @Sole and then @Alizabeth in turn, brows furrowed in confusion. "What I do with?" he complained, retreating back from the two of them to continue rousing his mother. "Helps wake," he called over his shoulder. They were adults, couldn't they fix it?

As soon as the other joined into the scene, Alizabeth's entire body shifted into a defensive stance. Very badly did she want to stand over the child and flash fangs at the male that approached, but instead she remained calm, knowing doing otherwise would likely startle the child. Tail flicked behind her and as the male dropped a chunk of meat near the child, the woman snorted. "He can't eat that shit." Before she could snap at him verbally more, the kid decided to take off back toward his Mom.
He would wail about being hungry again, and wanting to wake his Mom. Nose wrinkled and she stood, moving toward the child as he attempted to wake her. "Listen, sweetpea, your Mama...well she's fallen asleep and I don't think she'll be waking up. I can get you something to eat here soon, but we should help your Mama rest. Do you want to do that?" She commented quietly, unsure on how to explain death to a child so young. Could his brain even comprehend it?

To say that he were taken a back by such a hostile approach to his rather...kind gesture was an understatement. Yet - he chose to brush it off. Lionesses. He knew how protective they could be of young, and therefor could not hold it against the fae for the way she reacted to his simple ignorance. Instead, he follows suit. Standing quietly to approach the corpse with remorse. Perhaps, it was best if he were to let the woman deal with the child while he tended to the dead. She seemed to know more about children after all. "We'll get your mama a nice place to rest, how does that sound?" He would take the dead as soon as the child was adverted. A proper burial was in place even for the stranger. No one should ever be left to rot - familiar or not. Her life would be honored. |

Well, neither of them seemed too excited to help him wake his mother. He was a bit dismayed by that and let it show by pouting and mean-mugging, occasionally releasing heavy sighs of disdain. "Be nice if someones help," he murmured, baby's first passive aggressive comment. Before he knew it, @Alizabeth was towering over him and explaining that his mama would not be waking anytime soon. He blinked, dropped his attention back onto the body, and then glanced back up at her. "O.. otay, we finds good spot." He had no reason not to believe her -- or him, because he said something similar -- and so he committed to what they suggested. "Yeah, yeah, gets mama cuddly cozy so she's can sleeps for as long as mama wants." The smile he gave was weak, but there. "Am really hungwee, miss lady, mister sir." And his belly rumbled on cue.

Alizabeth nods to the boy, moving to begin looking for a place to bury the woman, though at his insistence on being hungry, her vibrant eyes turning to narrow on the male. "You, c'mon over here and take care of the Momma. I'm going to get him something to eat." Lowering her head, Alizabeth bumps the boy gently with her nose and croons, "I'll be right back, little man, with something for you to eat." Turning, she begins her search for something edible for the child. It was no use, she had nothing. Even if she were to take some herbs that would stimulate milk, it would take awhile to affect her body, not to mention the side affects were a bitch. He'd have to be weaned a bit early, it seemed. Coming back, Alizabeth stopped at the meat that Sole had provided. Sighing, she lowered her head and began chewing on it, mashing it up between her back teeth to really soften and gnaw it down. At least this way he could eat it, albeit slowly. Quietly she worked on that as Sole helped the baby bury his mother.

She does not have to speak twice for Sole to begin moving. Carefully, and perhaps even a bit mournful the gentle giant tends to the mothers corpse. He deems the field unfitting for burial - for the fear of ravagers and mongrelsto detest a grave is not uncommon. It would be a shame if they were to bury her and the child would return to find picked remains. So, instead, sole would move to heave the carcass upon his spine. Carefully as to not disrupt the decay of the poor mothers figure. To the bluffs she would go, To be safely guarded and honored for her life and sacrifice. For now, he does not speak but hopes the child would understand that he meant no harm to his mother. The terrains was lithe and easy to carry her upon with its lilac, though the bluffs would be a different story.

be kind always.he garners within the will of distraction. taking the time to carefully lift the dead lioness upon broadened shoulders. stagnant and quietly, the brute would gaze towards the child and their guardian. she as of wolfbron, and so she would be back soon enough. for now though, sole would go. departing with the bodies before fatigue settled inwards to his muscles. his weight was enough to carry amongst the hills, but another's - with dead weight at that matter. well - it was a different story. he only hoped that maua would guide him within the right ways as to where to lay the woman to rest.(Wrapping this up or XP) |
