The breeze blew the grass gently through the glade, almost conforming around the form of a blossom colored lioness as she sat back on her haunches, watching the fireflies drift around her head. The flickering insects were beautiful, and for the first time in a long time, Arachnae didn't feel the sickening remorse of fighting her brother. She wanted to find him, but slowly she was beginning to comprehend that blind panic wasn't accomplishing anything.... And she wished she had realized that before she killed others for information on the whereabouts of the lions that fled. But it didn't matter now.

The rose blew out air, sending a lightning bug rolling in the air before it caught itself, and she chuckled slightly, catching the attention of the mamba around her neck, who had been distracted by the random flashing heat in his vision. She knew he couldn't see the field like she could, so she tried to explain it to him.... But in return she merely received an almost blank looking stare. She felt amused by his seeming lack of intelligence- but she knew he wasn't dumb. Just special. Red and blue gaze looked up, staring at the stars with a solemn smile. For once, she felt at peace. The blinking of the insects as they communicated was beautiful. Like living stars.

Yes, she was a woman of the frozen tundra. Someone who rarely came south during the summer but not uncommon for her to come in this direction once the winter season's began. It was during these month's that Astrid came out of her northern home to find suitable prey and other things in the natural world that Maua had pleased her with. Ears twisting as she had ventured from her northern tuundra and through a jungle to clearing. It didn't look like it normally did but that was fine. Teal jewels would look around the area, to caught up in her own thoughts that she didn't realize the rose woman nearby.

For a while, wheat colored legs cutting through the prairie grasses sounded like nothing more than the gentle whisper of the wind, and until Rawkshi seemed to suddenly change interests, the witch woman hadn't noticed the other. Sharp ears pricked up in interest, her masked face joined as her neck craned to watch the lioness make her way through the fields, closer and closer- seemingly unaware of her presence. The grass was tall, after all- and Arachnae was not a big lioness.

Standing up, her twotoned eyes finally got a full view of whom she was about to greet- and her mind turned to rotten baobab fruit. "Oh... Uh.... Lovely evening for a stroll, isn't it?" She smiled, "Not as lovely as you-" oh no, here we go mush brain, "I didn't mean to say that."

Something moved and it caused Astrid to stop in her tracks and let her teal jewels land on the peach form of another. Ears twitching as stuttering words came to her ears. Astrid would study her as she would take note of the dark markings on her peach rose fur, and of course there was the unknown creature that was hanging around the woman's shoulders. But right now she wasn't interested in any of that as it seemed that this woman had been here all along. A dwarf have your tongue? Did Dwarve's like tongues?

Arachnae gave a crooked grin, thoroughly embarrassed at having said such things. She had always been awkward around women, especially pretty ones. The only lioness she never stumbled around was Hecuba, to be honest- and that was her sister in law. The maned female seemed somewhat skeptical of her blurted flirting, and with a nervous chuckle and a sigh, she flatted back her pointed ears and sat back on her haunches. "Ah, no, sorry." She said, "Uh, I'm Arachnae, and this is Rawkshi. He's harmless, I promise." The rose woman stated. Slowly, her mind began to make somewhat clear sentences for her to say. "What does bring such a stunning lioness like you to walk in the moonlight? Just enjoying the night air, perhaps?"

Perhaps it was because she wasn't familiar with the notion of being flirted towards that Astrid did not catch onto the stammering of the woman's words. But it seemed she was passed that and introduced herself and the snake that wrapped around her neck. Did she worship Loki? Even Astrid did at time's but very rarely did she do that. Ears twisting on top of her head as Astrid would dip her head slowly. I am Ástríðr, a pleasure to meet you. She would state. Teal jewels looking to the mamba that was coiled around the peach woman's neck. I don't do well during the day. To many strangers. To many button's being pushed by said strangers.

Arachnae somewhat followed the woman's gaze as she laid sea colored jewels onto the companion around her neck. The woman seemed unbothered, which made the witch-like lioness happy. Most others found him disturbing- which made since, he was one of the most dangerous snakes in their lands, after all. But he was too soft to bite a lion, not when his very friend was one herself.

Her name was pretty, and it elicited a smile from Ara, her ears folding halfway back as she gave a small purr with her words, "You have a lovely name." She stated honestly. And to her surprise, they seemed to share even more in common- "Ah, same for me. The sunlight burns my eyes and makes me weak and tired. I have adapted to living in the night."

The compliment to her name did not go unnoticed as Astrid would look over towards her companion. Norse. She would make a singular comment. It was her origin. Her heritage. Yes, she was born here. A native to these non-native creatures that came into her homeland. Your's is much different than others. Were all non-natives gifted with different names that were unique to their own personalities or heritages? Perhaps, but she wasn't going to ask. Ears twisted though at the comment of the sun bothering her. Winter season's won't be so harsh on you. The sun didn't come up til much later in the day, but stayed out later.

Arachnae tilted her head in interest at the word she said. Norse. Another culture to learn about? She loved hearing about the dieties and traditions of different peoples, it fascinated her. Perhaps she could tell her about her culture as well.... Although it was.... Quite unpleasant. "I was named for the way I attract venomous creatures." She smiled. She didn't know why that happened, but it... It did. "That is nice to hear. The sun is so cruel now, so it's nice to know later if won't be so bad." She stated. "Would you.... Like to take a walk with me? Anjou the night air?" She asked.

Attract venomous creatures? Was she Loki but as a mortal? Wouldn't that be something. Astrid meeting a God. In the flesh. That would make her day. Ears twisted on top of her head as she would listen closely towards the woman who was named for the venomous creatures she attracted. Like one of my Gods. She would state, before her head tilted to the side. Winter have longer days, sun comes up later, stays out later. She would advice to the woman before her before hearing the offer to take a walk with her. Causing Astrid to shrug her shoulders and move closer towards the two before her with no caution to the mamba that was coiled around @Arachnae's neck. 'She thinks.'
